Olivia liked to think she was pretty friendly. She didn't have many friends, but she knew a lot of people who seemed to like her; she just couldn't seem to get close to anybody. She did always have her horse, though. She kissed his nose gently as she stroked him, giggling at his soft neigh. "Well, Lightfoot, you ready for a ride?" she asked him, laughing when he reared his head up and back down in a nod. "Smart boy!" Patting his shoulder, she got his saddle on and lead him to the trail she wanted to go over today and hopped on. Lightfoot whinnied and started off without prompting, which Olivia really should train him out of, but it was nice. She waved at the other girl she saw on the trail she was taking, grinning. Cool. It was nice to see someone her age, for once.

It had been so much fun, riding with Aria and teaching the girl how to care for a horse and how to do all that was needed, that Gabby had found herself coming to the stables nearly every day…just in case her friend showed up.
Sadly, she hadn’t yet, so the only thing she had managed to do was give Meadow a lot of extra exercise and that wasn’t anything bad.
Gabby was on another ride today, a very leisurely one, merely ambling along and idly threading her fingers through the horse’s silky mane. Maybe she would see about getting Aria a horse the next time she saw her. It was something, at least. Not a gift that was normally given but…she had seem to like them so much. It had been kind of adorable.
Movement out of the corner of her eyes made the blonde blink and look up with a slight start, though thankfully not enough to spook her horse. “Oh. Hi there!”
It wasn’t Aria, but…at least it was someone her own age, that was nice. And riding with someone was normally more fun than riding alone.

Olivia nudged Lightfoot into getting closer, smiling widely. "I'm Olivia," she introduced herself, "It's nice not to be alone out here. Kinda creepy, huh?" Lightfoot whinnied his agreement, stepping closer again to nose at the other horse, jostling Olivia slightly, but she kept her balance. Years of hard work kept her together. "This is Lightfoot. I really should've named him Rascal," she said with a little laugh, scratching the side of his neck.

“Nice to meet you, Olivia! I’m Gabby, and this is Meadow. It is really nice to not be alone, yeah. Not that I mind it, but having company is great. Especially when it’s company that isn’t over age fifty. That always makes things a lot nicer. There’s a couple of old ladies who enjoy riding, and my god, all they do is talk and talk and remark that you’re looking well! Pinch your cheeks…and if you end up on the trail with them…they won’t let you pass. You just have to stay there dealing with them droning on and on and on…”
She paused and snickered slightly, cheeks growing warm. “...Like I’m doing. Right now. To you. Ah. Lightfoot is beautiful, he seems like a Rascal! Cutie pie.”
Good lord though…what if she were turning into one of the old ladies…no. That…wasn’t acceptable at all.

Olivia snorted, nodding with a sweet smile. "Nah, I started a conversation with you on purpose, y'know. It doesn't count as droning on and on until you talk for a full five minutes without taking a single breath, at least. At best what you just said took about, what, thirty seconds?" she said with a small laugh, shrugging. "He's real sweet. Getting kinda up there in years, though." She reached up and scratched behind one of Lightfoot's ears, drawing a pleased chuff from him. "He's twenty-four, and we've had him my whole life. How about you and Meadow? Is she yours, or do you just ride at the stables?"

Gabby laughed, feeling rather pleased, and possibly a little smug at the fact that this girl hadn’t thought she was just droning on. But. “Oh! That’s fantastic. Meadow is mine, yeah. She’s six right now, she’ll be seven in April!” She almost mentioned that she had plans to buy another horse to put into the stables, but…that would almost feel like bragging…and as much as she wanted to…
Perhaps she could do that next time.
“When are you normally here? We should do this more often. It’s always better to ride with company. And your Lightfoot is beautiful. If you ever need anything if you’re not going to be by here for a while and don’t trust the stable hands, I can always look in on him for you. I’ll give you my number, if you want it!”

"Aww, Meadow's so young. Very lucky; I'm not looking forward to seeing what the next few years hold for Lightfoot and I. But he's doing well, so I'm trying not to worry so much yet," Olivia answered, scratched one of his ears again. "As for when I come here, uh, I'm usually here in the evenings, around seven? I used to be up early all the time but with me not having morning classes anymore, my body has chosen to give out and pick 'way more sleep, please' over 'less sleep more fun'." She chuckled a bit. "It'll be super nice to ride with you yeah, and that's so kind of you to offer!" she chirped, pulling Lightfoot gently to a stop and pulling out her phone. "I generally trust them, but there is a reason I try to visit every day, after all. I've never had a problem, but better safe than sorry, I always say." Unlocking it, she passed her phone over to Gabby with a wide smile. "I look forward to riding with you again."

Gabby grinned and took the phone, entering her number and then shooting herself a text so that she would have Olivia’s. “Well, nothing wrong with any of that logic, and don’t hesitate to test me if you’re just bored or something. It’s always nice to hang out, and I’m looking forward to it as well.”
She handed the phone back and gave a wink, before clicking her tongue and urging Meadow into a gait that was almost bordering on a gallop.
She had her socialization for the day…it was time to ride.
