Gismondine was terribly excited to show Sylvite. Captain Gismondine was terribly excited to show his General what had happened to him. For once…for once it was something good. He had reached out to his General via the tablet and had asked for a meeting, and when she mentioned a park, he stopped for drinks for the two of them, and then teleported there.
Sure the teleportation made him dizzy enough that he could hardly stand and sleepy enough that laying down on the ground and taking a nap sounded like the best option ever but…still. He could teleport. If there was danger he could get himself out of it…and he had a real weapon…not that he had any idea at all what to do with it…he had it!
“General Sylvite!” His voice was full of shy excitement, and for once his stutter was hardly noticeable. Mostly. “General Sylvite…look! Are you p-proud of me?”
General King Axinite had said that he was proud before he slid his hand into Gismondine’s chest and pushed more chaos into his starseed…he had said that he had done well. That he had deserved this upgrade.
“General Sylvite…I…I’ll be able to protect us both now! At least…m-more than I was able to before!”

Sylvite had mostly been pacing laps around the park with some cartwheels and flips thrown in, but when she'd gotten the message from Gismo she'd found a bench to park herself on and had started fidgeting with the underlayer of her skirt to distract herself instead, so he didn't end up sneaking up on her when she was doing something too weird. The sudden Captain's aura made her look up, curious. Who else was out here right now? She wasn't sure if she wanted to talk to them right now. She wanted to see Gismodine. Then she heard his voice, coming from the direction of the aura. Sylvite grinned. She jumped to her feet. She clasped her hands in front of her chest. "You did it," she said, and she spun in a circle from how excited she was. "You did it, you did it you did it! I'm so freaking proud!" Then she threw herself at him in a very enthusiastic hug.

When a wild, flailing Sylvite came flying at him, Gismondine stood his ground and caught her in the hug, spinning them both around and laughing, his eyes bright with his own excitement and some overflow from her. He squeezed his General so tightly, nodding. “I did it! G-General King Axinite called me to his office and…he s-said I was ready. And here I am…I’m so glad that you’re proud of me…”
It really meant the world.
He was so lucky to have the most amazing General in all of the Negaverse. Seriously.
“How…how are you doing, Sylvite? Are you…are you okay? I brought you something to drink, and I have some pastries too…the café is new and…the reviews were wonderful…ah.”
Holding out her drink, he smiled and then drew out a small wrapped package from his subspace pocket, a strawberry cream stuffed bear stared back at the General, almost too cute to eat. “I…hope you like…hope you like strawberry! It…reminded of you with the pink…”

Her feet lifted off the ground. Her cape-skirt fluttered out as Gismo spun her around. For the first time in a while, Sylvite laughed, and she squeezed him even tighter. Then when her boots touched down again, she let go and took half a step back, giving him just enough space so she could see what he had brought. "Oooh! Let me see what it is. You always find such yummy stuff. Honestly, you probably deserve the upgrade just from how you make sure I live on more than just skittles and oreos." When she peeled the paper away from the bear pastry, she gasped. Her eyes sparkled even more than they'd been sparkling just from seeing Gismodine like this. "See, amazing," she said, although the cuteness factor did nothing to keep Sylvite from biting straight into its face. "Yummy, too," she added, licking strawberry cream off her fingertips. "But yeah, you totally deserve this for the other stuff, too. I know you've been training hard." She smiled at him again, trying not to get too distracted by the sugar. "So, what'd you get? Can I see your weapon?"

Sylvite’s enthusiasm for the pastry made Gismondine laugh in delight. “I’m glad! I’m s-so glad you like it! Um…my weapon. I have…no idea how I’m supposed to um…to use it but.”
The Captain took a few steps away and summoned his new weapon, holding it by the handle and then placing it in his open palm, the chain clinking rather merrily. “I feel…like I’m..um. Supposed to use it to cut down very small patches of…wheat or something…but it’s sharp, at least! So…so there’s that!”
It really wasn’t something he was familiar with…and honestly he had been more than half hoping to go the route of Sylvite. He could handle two knives…maybe not handle them well but he would know what to do with them.
Stabbing and slicing with the pointy end was quite straight forward.

Sylvite's little bear pastry might have been absolutely perfect, but whatever was going on with Gismo's weapon was obviously way more interesting, and she turned to look at it. "Oooh," she said, her eyes going wide for like the third time in five minutes. "That looks really fun! Also sharp, yeah!" It did kind of look like it was made more for harvesting stuff than for fighting people, but then, if it was a garden tool she was pretty sure it wouldn't have had the chain thing on it. "I don't know exactly how to use it, either, but guess what?" She tilted her head. "That's what YouTube is for! I'm sure we can figure it out, and then you'll be able to go make weird senshi leave you alone in no time!" Of course it was adorable that he wanted to protect her, but she wanted to make sure that he could take care of himself, first, and this was a big step in that direction.

“I…” Gismondine flushed suddenly. “I hadn’t even thought to use Youtube for that…” He grinned though, feeling as though it were such a simple answer for the issue. “I’m so lucky to have you for my General. You’re just so smart, Sylvite, seriously. Knowing my luck I would have ended up severing my arm or something trying to figure out how to use it on my own…”
He was pleased with it though. Pleased that he had earned it.
“I hope…I hope if I ever reach the rank of General that I’m as smart for my people too…I want to be…want to be an inspiration like…like you are, Sylvite. So um…please just know that I think you’re wonderful. I miss Parisite and Cavansite a lot…but you’ve been r-really good for me. I think…I think I might have gained at least…um…a little more confidence. Which is…kind of amazing.”

"Hey, coming to me for help's smart," said Sylvite, her smile shifting to the side a little bit. Then she realized how that sounded kinda egotistical, so she shook her head to take it back, and instead she said, "Uh, I mean, here's some advice for my up and coming genius General. Ask for help, like, all the time. Take advantage of how smart other people are. Or, like, Google." That was said with a sage nod. "Google has all the answers." Him calling her an inspiration made her cheeks get all hot. She blinked, and she whispered a tiny oh. Nobody had ever said anything like that to her before. "I'm glad I got to meet you, too, Gismo," she said, really quietly. "I mean, I'm really sorry you don't get to see the others anymore, but like, if we're being all honest, you inspire me too." Slowly, the blush went down and her grin came back. "You make me wanna, like, be nicer, and also step up my picnic game."

“Google has all of the answers!” Gismondine repeated with vigor, nodding and looking pleased. “I’ll be sure to find all of the things I can, and you…” He flushed and shrugged. “You…you’re already super nice. It’s easy to want to be your friend…and um. Yelp. For the things that I find? I…like to spend time on Yelp looking things up…I…I think I’m pretty good at finding the best spots in the city…”
It was one thing that he was very proud of…and it made him happy.
“I can’t wait to get stronger still…I just want to make you…super proud forever. I’ll be…I’ll be the best that you’ve ever had…I promise.”
At least he had her to fight for. So long as there was someone...he would be okay. He didn’t need the others…even Xander..he…
Well. He was fine. And he would be fine.
He had to be.

"Okay so basically what you're saying is that between Google and Yelp I can become the master of all knowledge," said Sylvite with a grin. It sounded about right, honestly. The internet hadn't really let her down so far. "I'm gonna try it. You can try too." Then they could be knowledge masters together, just like they were gonna be Negaverse masters together someday after Gismodine had kept learning a bit more. Yeah. Nothing would go wrong this time. Gismo would be the one that she trained where everything turned out okay. She finished up her bear snack and sent the cute packaging off to subspace, then said, "If you just got upgraded, you deserve to rest up a little bit. Next time, though, we can try out all your cool new powers." That would be fun. She hadn't had a Captain to work with, yet.

Gismondine nodded, laughing. “Master of all knowledge and um…the best person to plan outings. I found that has become my role in…a lot of things.” The idea of resting was…a very nice one and he nodded. “I like that idea…I’d rather…know what the weapon is so I don’t hurt…either of us with it while trying to practice. Besides. It…it’s hard to practice with you since you put me in such a good mood…”
Like Q did.
His face lit up with the realization and he smiled. “You remind me of my sister. I…I think I just made that connection. It’s nice…and I miss her.” She was so busy lately, but now he had Sylvite so that hole could be filled just a little bit more.
But…that could all be decided later, thought about later.
It was time to just rest and relax with his best friend slash general.
