Saeruin 1
Recently she had been craving a certain kind of nonjudgemental companionship that pet people really seemed to endorse. A certain amount of responsibility but that was counterbalanced by varrying rewards attributed to whichever species you chose. She personaly loved to fish in her spare time when she was not at the forge so she was considering adopting or capturing a young zanteer. She had heard from a friend that people who had litters to sell would sometime visit this small beach which was prime Zanteer habitat.
So here she was on the hunt for something cute and fuzzy. The sand felt nice on her bare feet and nothing could beat the feel of the sun on her face.

Saoirse 1
Her mother Akani had decided to take her on a small vacation from Chibale as a treat. Saoirse had always done her chores and was overall a pretty good kid. She loved seeing all the new places on the way it was so exciting. She got a few looks but for the most part people just seemed a tad confused at her mix. This was quite encouraging.
Her mother was nearby sunbathing on a lovely beach and she saw a pretty girl who was a bit older than her appear on the beach. Curious Saoirse went closer.

An interesting duo was on the beach, two aishans, one that looked fully Elaria and the other that seemed to be well stuck between an alkidike and an elaria. At first she didn't realize what she was seeing.
That was new.
She tilted her head as the youngling got closer. Would she try to talk to Fang? Even with her near permanant scowl? She supposed she would find out, it was always awkward trying to explain to anyone why she didn't talk.

She was going to approach the dark blue lady and ask her like a zillion questions but she was distracted by new arrivals to the beach it looked like someone had baby animals! That was way too much of a distraction so she drifted over that way. Maybe, just maybe Mama would let her keep one. Her heart began to race as she saw exactly what they were.
Zanteer!

She too had noticed the newcomers to the beach and glancing around so that she could be sure that no one in her crew would see her, she proceeded to the stand as well. Her heart leapt. They were zanteer pups. She was being blessed by the god right now she craved the company of another being that was completely trustworthy so badly. A friend for her, her responsibility and she would let nothing happen to her zanteer now if only the price er not too high. After all she disnt have too much coin yet as she was still buiding her skills at the forge.

There were many many pups all wriggling around and jumping and pouncing. They were incredibly cute and utterly playful. There were assorted shades and mixes of blues greens lime and black. It was like a liquid fur rainbow and she squealed with delight and peppered the attending earthling people with questions.
She dangled her hand over the side of the box and the pups all swarmed at her with exuberance. This was arguably the best day of her life.
Her Mother saw what was being written in the stars and smiled. Her daughter deserved a companion after being such a trooper living in a sometimes rough society that she had Undazi couldn't completely save her from.

Saeruin 4
She had already made up her mind that if she found the right pup she would take him home. Her heart was set and she was more excited then she could ever remember being.
She came up beside the young Aishan and also greeted the puppies. There were two that immediately caught her eye. One with delicate light green fur with black and sky blue spots and another that was a mash of colors horizonally stacked. A seagreen topped by bright blue topped by navy and then a splash of l lime on the topmost part of the ruff that made him look so stunning. She liked the behaviour and personality of both.
She watched where the youngling was watching to see if she had found one that matched her.

She couldn't take her eyes off of a smaller black kit with lime green spots. He looked like he would be a run and seemed a little separate from the others who were able to simply push his smaller frame out of their way.
They didn't seem to be doing it on purpose but Saoirse felt for him anyway, it reminded her of her own situation a little bit. She couldn't peel her eyes off of him even though there were many fine Zanteer out there.

Her one fear turned out to be the price, she scratched on her note pad and nervously inquired how much it would be for two of the pups, a male and a female.
They told her in return that these belonged to a colony whose nesting site had been crushed by a crumbling cliff and that these survivors had been inaccessable to their parents so they were free to be adopted out to good homes that would feed them. This news made her whole year and she promptly pulled both pups out by their scruffs to receive their complimentary collars.
She noticed that the older alkidike was coming closer she hoped that they let the little girl have one. It would be good for her. It was certainly going to be good for Saeruin. Two new best friends that the world could not take from her.

Akani came up behind her daughter. "Before you ask, yes you can have one, we will suprise Undazi, even she couldn't say no to such cute little faces. It was likely that all of them would get adopted but it always worried her on a maternal promordial level. What if there was no one to look after her daughter if something happened to her. So she would allow a zanteer in the house, it would be harder to keep clean but that was the price one paid for warm furry snuggles.
Saoirse hugged her mother so tight, there were tears in her eyes she was so happy. "Thank you! That one I want that one!" She pointed at the runt male with lime spots.

Their collars were so cute and they wiggles happily in her arms before she tucked them into her shirt for travel home. She wasn't sure how she would introduce them to the others but she wanted to create a bond with them first.
She giggled as soft fur and not so soft claws scraped gently against her. There were much baby zanteer noises emanating from her coat and she couldn't remember being this happy.
She watched the family next to her pick out a zanteer and she actually gave them a real unguarded smile which made her look incredibly beautiful, a rare sight that didn't often replace the usual frown.

She wiggled around excitedly as the earthling held the pup for her mother to put the collar on. She was getting her very own Zanteer, a friend, a companion, a protector, she need not be alone again. She was so happy.
This zanteer would even get to sleep in her bed she decided.
"I'm going to call him Venom, because of the bright green on his coat."
Her mother said that she was very creative. She scooped the little critter up, it would be easier for her to carry the little one, which seemed small to her even compared to the others but he was very wiggly so she thought he would be alright despite his size. She would also take a hand in feeding him properly so that he need not stay small forever. She hoped he would grow alongside her daughter as a great friend. Plus it was making Saoirse so happy.

Saeruin made a pleased squeaking noise at the little girl to show her approval. It was a happy day and she supposed that once in a blue moon she could forget herself just a little bit. Where no one she knew could see her of course.
She wrote on a slip of paper that she gave to the mother explaining that she couldnt speak but she could write and that if her daughter wanted she wouldn't mind sharing tips and tricks on zanteer raising as it was her first time as well.
She shyly handed it to the much taller Elarian. Sae had a suspicion that perhaps like her the little aishan had hard days with others who might have a sharp opinion on her appearance.

Akani bent down and explained what the blue prentice had written. Saoirse took the letter and read it herself as well. She was getting good but struggled a bit over longer words but that didn't seem to be much of a problem in the other girls writing.
She turned to the older girl with her heart in her eyes and said, "I would love that! What are you going to name your two zanteer and what is your name so I know who to send the letters too."
She would have a long distance friend! And an earthling none the less, she bet those brats back home didnt have cool silent earthling friends.

Saeruin wrote the only name she could rememeber that she had given to herself when Kellye had asked when they first found her.
Fang
Mossgrove - green baby
Lightning - blue and green baby
She handed the slip of paper back to the girl with her address and where she could be found if they were ever in town again. She might take her new friends as a secret to the grave or she might tell her people, she wasn't sure what she wanted to do yet.
