Quote: Prompt 4 (Fear and Feathers): The moon is bright tonight and reflects off of the snowy ground, illuminating everything with an ethereal glow. Destiny City feels almost safe, even at night. The fresh fallen snow seems undisturbed and brings a sense of peace. Only, nothing is ever as good as it seems, and there’s something eerie about it. After a while, it feels like someone--or something--is watching you. In the shadows of the trees, a set of milky eyes watches. Whatever it is, it’s tall and bulky. If you walk quickly, you feel it follow you but once you leave the line of trees, it disappears. If you try to approach it, a great beast will screech at you: a six foot tall snowy white owl takes flight. It may tackle or claw at you, depending on how you approach it, but it will always take flight and disappear in the night. If you choose to attack it, for the next few nights any time you look out your window you will see glowing eyes in the distance--or worse, hear it scratching to get in. Eventually, the temperature rises and the visits stop. For now. Note: The owl is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to count this for a battle. If you repeat the prompt with the same character, only one will count for a battle requirement. The owl will not appear to have any magical abilities and seems to simply be a very large, aggressive owl. Monoceros loved winter. The cold, he could do without, when he couldn't be dressed as warm as he'd like, but being powered meant being at the ready for fights. He has originally meant to wander around and maybe finally get an orb of energy on his own, or maybe just actually get to have a few moments to think for himself, away from the influence of Negaspace and the weird feeling in his chest, but now he found himself just trying to relax, for the most part. He wished it would all just go away, that he could go back to whatever he'd been before he'd been taken into the Negaverse. Or before he'd been involved in this war at all. He didn't feel like he was some super cool super hero. Instead, he just felt terrified, downtrodden, and trapped. Which was why this little walk in the woods was supposed to be good for him. The snow crunched pleasantly under his feet, and as he focused more on his surroundings instead of his inner turmoil, he felt better. Good enough to hum a little song as he walked along, just letting himself get to exist with no expectations. Though nearly running into another person did, in fact, interrupt his good time and he backed up. "Ah, sorry, I didn't see..." He trailed off, eyes wide. He'd been told they had aliens hanging around, but seeing one up close in person was different from being told they existed. Clearing his throat, he continued, "I was a little in my own head, sorry. Nice to meet you!"

Caelyna did not trust the Negaverse. Caelyna was pretty sure she was never going to trust the Negaverse after seeing the Corrupt in pink and blue reach into Gavaen's chest, and then snap his neck without a thought. It was simply not something that she could bring herself to forgive, even if she intended to do whjat was necessary to be polite to them. The Commodore had some sort of alliance with their leader, and so she folded her hands behind her back, gripping her baton between them just in case, and gave him her best fake cheery smile.
Play nice. Do what was right for Velencya. Do not damage the Vanguard's tenuous position on this planet. If they needed to play both sides to make sure they got the information they required to save their home, then that was what they needed.
"Hello there! It's quite alright, you didn't do any serious damage." She gave a quick nod of greeting, and glanced around them. It was a nice, snowy evening, and she was quite happy to have gotten the opportunity to go for a walk.
"I'm Caelyna. You know, i think this is the first time I've had a chance to speak with a Negaverse Senshi one on one."

He noticed her holding her hands behind her back, the tension in her shoulders, but he didn't say anything or draw attention to it. After what he'd heard about the battle, while not much, he couldn't blame her for being wary. The death of one of their own, at the hands of a Negaverse Senshi? Brutal. He suppressed a shiver. "It's my first time meeting one of the Vanguard," he returned with a casual smile, leaning against a tree and keeping his hands where she could see them. He didn't want to scare her. Even though Senshi didn't typically keep weapons on them, this might help, somehow. "I'm Monoceros. I'm guessing maybe by the way you said that, you have questions?" he asked with a sheepish smile, "I'm afraid I probably won't have any answers. I got nothin' in this noggin." He rapped his knuckles on the side of his head. "I woke up one day, and psht, nothing. Lights on, nobody's home. I could probably talk about normal Earth stuff, though..."

Caelyna blinked, tilting her head to the side. How interesting; apparently he had never met one of them before, or if he had, he didn't remember.
"Well! I hope I make a good impression," she said. She looked around them, thoughtfully, and her eyes landed on a tree that seemed to be...watching her.
Or, well, perhaps it was something in the tree, watching her, but she could definitely see two big, strange eyes.
"What....is that?" She narrowed her eyes at it. "Is it usual for trees to have strange things in them, like that?"

Monoceros immediately snapped to attention, getting into a crouch and staring up at the trees with narrowed eyes. "Depends what you mean by strange," he said in a low voice, spotting the eyes she mentioned. Eyes too big for any natural tree-sitting animal. "That's definitely not normal, from what I can tell. Get low." He lifted a hand, keeping one on the ground to hold him steady. It screamed and fluttered forth, and Monoceros tensed. s**t, that was a big ******** owl. Definitely not normal. "Quill Flash!" he shouted, thrusting his free hand at the owl and somersaulting out of the way of its talons.

Caelyna did as requested, getting low and bringing around her baton to protect herself and the Corrupt. She didn't know him well, sure, but he was technically, by the barest definition, an ally, and he had been nice to her so far, and there was, anyway, no reason to abandon anyone to--
A giant animal attack?
Caelyna blinked, eyes going wide. Of all the things she had potentially considered might be in that tree, that was not one, and the massive beast responded to Monoceros's attack by swooping down on them, which made her bring her baton up to smack into it. That made the owl screech in pain, and it beat its massive, silent wings, flying into the air.
Her heart raced, and she gripped her baton in front of her, standing up and turning in the direction it had gone.
"We need to get out of here. Before it comes back. Quickly, let's go."
She would keep an eye on him, while they got away, back towards civilization. There was no reason to linger here when the damned bird might come back, and she hated to think what it might do to them if it did.
