Prompt 3 (Drink Yourself Silly)

If Lucy loved one thing about holidays, it was the chance that a pop up shop would spring up. What they had was always a (holiday related) surprise, and that never got old for the young adult, and this year was no different. On one of the warmer days of the month, after the storm had passed, Lucy left her parents home, setting out into town to see if any pop up shops had come up, and after a short bus ride, was pleasantly surprised. A very festive looking pop up cafe seemed to have taken residence in one of the empty stores on the shopping strip, and Lucy found herself excitedly going in.

She took in the people sitting around talking, enjoying what seemed to be very decadent, delicious looking drinks strewn with peppermint and chocolate flakes, and even peppermint straws were in a few drinks. Seeing there wasn't really a line, Lucy took her time looking, focusing on her choices so hard she didn't even notice the barista pop up near her. "First time in here this month?" The barista asked, smiling in a surprisingly not fake way the majority of coffee shop staff seemed to (and that she entirely understood). During the question she had jumped a bit, snapping out of her hyper focus to have taken note of the baristas genuine look and their question. She nodded. "Yes, haven't been out of the house since I got home, and then with the storm, it seems like everyone else shared my idea too!" The barista nodded. "Yeah, this is the busiest it's actually been in days, I'm surprised it even died down. It looks like your having trouble deciding, I can make the drink a surprise, no extra cost since I keep prices the same across the board anyway." The barista pointed out, seemingly quickly so Lucy wouldn't decline she thought. Though they did offer it up so suspiciously(and wow, not even doing the cool magic job for long and she was already growing wary) , she never could resist free hot chocolate. :Sure, wouldn't---oh! Um...thank you?" Okay that was...that was odd, but she tried to push that away, quickly paying and leaving, she was pretty sure she gave them ten dollars but the ending part of that small interaction had wigged her out. She walked the streets, not really drinking her drink yet, now truly wary, but willing to still give it a shot, the patrons in the shop seemed fine after all, maybe the barista just wanted her gone so they could sit down? Yes, that was definitely it, she reassured herself, taking a drink from the, very, very good, hot chocolate. It was simply amazing in a way she couldn't describe, and before she knew it the drink was gone before she had even passed the first store she wanted to go in. She frowned, but tossed the cup in the can out front of the little gem store she liked to go in.

The pattern of buzzing in and out of shops continued as normal for about ten minutes, until Lucy began to feel an itch in her throat, followed by being cold, so, so cold. She was confused at first, after all, it was sweltering in the shop she was in just a minute ago, right? She left, entirely confused and now shivering, not paying mind to the people looking at her funny. She tried another shop, and another, for what must have been half an hour until she determined that it must be her, bc she had nearly been kicked out of two shops after making a bit more than a fuss about the freezing cold ice block of a store. She took a seat at a bench on the sidewalk, trying not to panic. She had three options, one involved kicking the baristas a** because she was positive that was the cause of her freezing, but really she just wanted to go home. So with a shivery sigh she waited for the bus, disappointed she really didn't get much out of her shopping trip, except for this weird, awful freeze. A freeze that would make her hot with anger once she got off the bus, and into her parents home, only to realize she was no longer cold.
