Backdated to December 22, 2021 Takes place after What choice but simple duty “I heard you’re good with dogs,” was probably the dumbest way to start a conversation, and Jet made a face at himself. He hadn’t decided how he wanted to bring up the mission with General Lopezite. ‘Hello, I’m Jet. You might remember me from the group of thirteen that the Queen chose for a special mission recently’ was probably just as stupid.
“Aquamarine is Reidite’s General. Uh… Reidite said you helped him with an injury he had in the Rift and that you had dogs,” he tried to explain, desperately trying to keep himself from turning pink in the cheeks. He’d never spoken to Lopezite before, so he wasn’t really sure what to expect. But Reidite seemed to have a good opinion of him, and the Queen trusted him.
“I need someone who can handle a Knight’s summon. It’s a wolf,” he said as bluntly as possible, hoping that would erase any awkwardness from his introduction.

Lopezite didn’t know many Generals, and his interactions seemed fairly exclusive to missions. It wasn’t often that he found a way to bring up conversation with one. He might have been embarrassed to admit that he wasn’t entirely sure that Jet was even talking to him until he mentioned Reidite’s name.
“Well, if that’s what you’ve heard about me, I suppose I can’t complain. I’m all right with dogs, I’ve got a few back home. Not quite wolves, but. I’ve got a two hundred pound drama queen, so I guess I’ve got a bit of experience.”
He didn’t seem off-put by the idea; he wasn’t sure if a magical wolf was the same as large dog, but he knew that Knights only had a limited time to make use of their summon–and even if he hadn’t had any experience with dogs, he had a sword that hadn’t let him down yet.
“I can try to help. What’s your plan?”

“I don’t know how much the Knight’s summon weighs, but it’s better experience than anyone else I know,” Jet said, clearly weighing the pros and cons of the information rather than the conversational part of what Lopezite said. In Jet’s defense, he was a little on edge about what he was planning on doing.
“Queen Laurelite asked me to put together a team. Not too large, but hopefully big enough,” he explained, glancing around to make sure they were alone in the hall. “Is your office nearby? Mine is back that way,” he gestured.
“I’m glad I found you, though. Uh, I know we haven’t really worked together before, so you have no reason to trust me or want to help, but…” He would appreciate it? Would be grateful? Would probably end up getting himself killed if he tried doing this with just himself and Aquamarine?
“The White Moon is up to something and we’re going to try and stop them before they can do anything,” he said, hoping a little more information would help to convince General Lopezite to hear him out for more details.

Lopezite didn’t make much use of his office; he didn’t have much of a reason to. He nodded to a room just a bit down the hall and began to walk that way. He took it slow, so Jet would know he was inviting him to walk with him and not just walking away.
“I’ll give it a go,” he said, and probably would have offered even if Jet hadn’t name-dropped the Queen.
He pulled open the door to his office and gestured for Jet to let himself in; he flipped a light switch by the door and followed after him. He didn’t apologize for the state of his office; he had two chairs and a desk, and a bookshelf with a few things put on it. There was a first aid kit, a lamp, and a few boxes.
Lopezite didn’t tend to spend a lot of time in his office, but he had it if he needed it.
He closed the door behind him after they’d entered.
“I don’t have any reason not to trust you,” he said afterwards, “And if Queen Laurelite asked you to do something, I’d be honored to help. Do you have an idea of what they’re up to, or are we doing this to find out?”

He didn't quite let out a sigh of relief, but he was glad that Lopezite wasn't asking him a thousand questions like Faustite had. Or made him feel like he should have already prepared for all of this already when he only just found out about it.
"I can give you my life story if that helps or whatever," he offered, because apparently stuff like that was important for teams. He never had to do it before, but if that was a way of increasing their success rate, then sure, he'd spill his guts. Better metaphorically than literally.
"I don't know if you heard about what happened to General Aquamarine. He was attacked by a Jupiter Knight at the end of November. The Knight used something that prevented him from being able to teleport or summon his weapons. One of my recruits, Cymophane, was working on gathering intel about how to locate Princess Ganymede and came across some information from a Jupiter Page. Apparently whatever they used on Aquamarine was just a test run for something bigger. That what happened to Aqua would seem like a minor event. The Page said he could guarantee Cymophane's safety if he decided to defect and that he knew Ganymede," Jet explained once they were inside Lopezite's sparse office.
“The plan is to let them think Cymophane wants to be purified. I’ll go in and let them take me prisoner instead while Cymophane teleports out.” If they didn’t decide to just kill him. “I can communicate telepathically with my personal youma, who can scout the area while I keep them distracted. Once Arles finds whatever they have, or if I need an extraction, Arles will let Aquamarine know and I want you to come in. I think you and Faustite would be best to keep the Jupiter Knight with the wolf occupied while Aqua and I subdue the Princess. Just keep them from helping her. And… if you have any suggestions, I’m not afraid to admit I’m a little in over my head,” he said with a quiet sigh. In his defense he did only just find out about this thing the White Moon apparently had. And they had to act fast.
“I want to keep this between just the team. I asked the Queen not to let General King Axinite know. He… worries.” And it wasn’t good for his health.

“Oh.” His brows raised in surprise, obviously a bit taken aback by the fact that Axinite didn’t know.
Which meant this was important. Jet was working with the Queen on this, of course she’d have the authority to hold information back from a General King.
“My lips are sealed,” he assured.
He didn’t need Jet’s life story, but the information he’d provided had given him a good idea for what they were getting into. It wasn’t enough to scare him away, not when it sounded so important.
He hadn’t heard about Aquamarine, but he was pretty sure that he’d only ever seen Jet while in close proximity to him so he understood how important this must be–even outside of the supposed weapon the White Moon claimed to have. He didn’t know how much he trusted them, but even he was a bit cautious of this plan.
“Just tell me when and where you want me, I’ll be ready. But. If I was going to give you any suggestion, it’s just.”
He’d never run a mission, never took something so important into his own hands. He was good at following instructions, good at keeping his eye on a small group. Planning something–something that sounded so important? No, he wasn’t the most skilled; he didn’t have any real suggestions. Probably nothing Jet hadn’t already thought of.
“A trap will only work once. I understand that you’re going into a lot of this without knowing what you’re getting into. But don’t give them the chance to take you out of the picture. Information’s not worth your life. Just know when to pull the plug, all right? Even if you can’t get all the information you want. I don’t care about pride, or reputation, or anything like that. You have to know that what you’re doing is dangerous. So just know when to fall back and retreat, or have us come in to pull you out. I’ll do anything you need me to, just keep that in mind for me.”

Jet remained silent as he listened to Lopezite’s suggestions. They sounded similar to others he’d heard, of course. He knew he was getting himself into a situation that would be incredibly dangerous. But he’d already worked through as many possibilities as he could.
They would see him as a threat, of course. He’d attacked and killed their friends before. But Senshi and Knights of the White Moon were notorious for trying to push and push for purification even at risk to themselves. They were convinced that everything they did was right. And they were likely to see lost souls in need of help.
It had to be him. As long as they didn’t try to kill him immediately, he stood a chance. And if they did seriously threaten him, then Aquamarine could get him out before too much happened. Theoretically.
“Thank you, General Lopezite,” he said with a polite nod. “Don’t worry, I’m not doing this for my pride or reputation. I don’t want anything for doing this. I just want to know that we won’t be blindsided by some weapon that can stop our teleporting. And I don’t want anyone else risking themselves. I’m not going to find a problem and expect someone else to resolve it. Besides, I have resources others don’t. Arles can move with the shadows. But, if there’s any reason to fall back, I promise I will.”

Lopezite seemed convinced and again nodded. “I trust you.”
It was as easy as that. Jet was willing to put himself in danger’s way for the greater good, and if Lopezite could help, he would. He didn’t entirely know what reputation Jet had with the White Moon, but if he thought they valued his capture so much they must have understood that he was important.
Like the Queen must have thought the same.
“And I believe that you know what you’re doing. Which means, you're the best person to try and stop whatever they're trying to do. Just let me know what you need and when you need it. Thank you for trusting me to help. I’ll do my best.”
