Thea paced back and forth as she waits for Rydan to get home from work. She had something to talk to him about and she was trying to find the best way to go about it. There were so many ways to open that particular topic. Of course not all of them were good. And to say she was nervous about how he'd feel was an understatement.
She just hoped he came home before Zohra and Zasha woke from their naps. Trying to talk to him with two cranky, crying babies was going to be rough. Her eyes would go to the window by the front door every so often to check and see if she saw him coming but when she didn't she would sigh and pace once more.

Rydan 1
Rydan opened the door, it had started to rain and at first his cloak, with his feelers sticking through the holes he had made in in for them, covered most of his face as he was looking down. He flicked it off and dethreaded his antennae only to find Thea there waiting for him. He was ashamed to say that she a tiny pixie had quite startled his overly large self.
"Hello love, are you okay? You look kinda seasick."

When Rydan had come in after she'd turned her back to pace she startled a little, almost ready to pull her dagger out on whoever thought it a good idea to enter her home. Thankfully she saw who it was and heard his voice before her hand could move. "Not seasick, but we need to talk." Thea didn't want to beat around the bush. She kept her serious tone so that he would know that this was something that he couldn't push aside or wait on. It needed to be brought to his attention now and she wanted him to be on the same page.

He gave her a perplexed look, strange but he hadn't messed anything up in at least a month so he was relatively sure he wasn't in trouble again.
"Did the boys blow up a town this time? I told them no fireworks, you know they need to get hired onto a farm where all that excess energy will go into growing food for their ever empty bellies."
"I'm sorry Thea I'll make sure they never do it again, aye they take after I don't even know who because non of the rest of our families are that crazy. Gah! Thank god the younger ones seem a little more balanced?" He looked at her hopefully fearing against fear that the little would grow into handsome fireballs like their elder twin brothers. "My hair is going to fall out."

She opened her mouth to tell him that that wasn't the issue but paused before her voice could come out. Thea had to think about that one. Why Rydan had to tell her twins not to use fireworks was another concern that they would come back to. Instead she shook her head. "No, that's not it.. but we'll come back to that." She pointed at him. How did she start this? How did she explain to him that she had already agreed to take in another child? Thea stared at Rydan for a few seconds before her mouth moved without her brain being aware. "We're going to have another baby in the house soon."

"Isn't it a little soon to try again Thea? Not that I mind having more kids but don't you want a little break for your body? Like its not easy being pregnant, though I do love when you are round. I like big families though so if you have your heart set on it."
He rolled his eyes and brought his hands up like claws and proceeded to stalk her like a monster. "No time to start like the present."

She looked at him oddly before what he was saying and what she had said finally caught up to her brain. Thea gave him a warning look. "Not what I meant." She swatted his hands away when he was close enough. "No, I meant.. We are going to take in my brother's baby when it's born. There are some uh... circumstances that make it unsafe for him and the mother to keep the baby with them." Now she was fidgeting, hoping Rydan wouldn't be upset with her for having agreed to this already without talking to him.

Rydan blinked. "Are they all okay? No one is in danger?" This was a serious matter. "Don't worry Thea, I would never turn away a child. Especially family." His heart hurt for them all though, it was not easy giving up a child even to your own family. He would rather loose a hand..or a feeler.
He enfolded her in his arms and tucked his head on top of hers, he had to crouch a little. But he liked the soap she used in her hair it had always soothed him.
"I'm sorry for whatever circumstances are hurting his family, but the baby is more than welcome in ours." Besides babies were cute.

She stared at his chest for a moment of silence. "I.. I don't know. There are concerns of the baby being used against them." That alone should clue Rydan in to how dangerous things could be. After all, he knew she was in the thieves guild and things got pretty dangerous there. "That's why he came to me." When she was taken into his arms she leaned against him. He had a solid body that she loved to be next to for comfort. Thea was tough but it made her feel better knowing there was someone strong beside her too. "I couldn't let a baby be used or hurt. I know we have the twins and we just had Zasha and Zohra but..." Despite Rydan stating that he welcomed her brother's child into their family she still felt like she should justify why she had made a decision without him. "We can make it work. We have more than enough money. And with my brother and I looking like twins then the baby can easily pass as mine. The mother has shifter blood and... and so do you.." Not as much as Adenah, but Rydan still had it.

Rydan 5 He squeezed her just a lil tighter as she explained. This had to be so painful, he couldn't imagine having that kind of pressure put on the parents. "Oh Thea I'm so sorry, I'm sure we can pull it off, besides she technically has your eyes right? I have quite a bit of shifter in me I'm sure it wouldn't look strange, especially since she is so close to Zo and Za. Rydan really liked Dovian and he had liked his woman as well. She was fiery like Thea. He shivered. "Yay another girl!"

Thea snorted a little. "I adore you." That was all she could say to his enthusiasm. She fell silent for a time after, just loving the hug he was giving her. Finally she tilted her head back so she could look up at him. "I was thinking we could put an addition on the house. Let the twins have a room away from everyone else so that the baby could be closer to us. That way Zasha and Zohra can have their own rooms." If they moved things around then it wouldn't be too hard. Lynx and Iexa had no issues sharing a room even with as old as they were. Of course the fact that neither were home during the day meant they really only shared when the went to sleep and they had separate beds so it wasn't an issue. Zasha would like her own room she was sure. And Zohra was a ball of energy when he wasn't crying about things. Thea nodded her head slightly. "We can make it work."

He smiled slowly, "I adore you too."
"I think that is a good idea, more room would be very nice. Besides carpentry will be a nice break from the smithy." He felt like he got a 3 for 2 deal this year.
"I won't let anything happen to her Thea, don't worry, plus you are not too shabby with those knives. " She was very skillful and he loved it. It just made him make her really fancy throwing knives about every few months because he liked to watch her work with them. Besides she always got the prototypes of the knives she inspired which was pretty much all of them. Perfectly curved, perfectly deadly, he was getting rather good at making them too. He was currently working on a pair called Thea at sunset. Now he had an idea for a set of three representing each of their youngest children.

"I know you won't let anything happen." Her head nodded. Just like her Rydan was protective. Even if he wasn't as violent as her he could still fight. Then again, not many people became as violent as she did when she became serious. A trait she got from her mother. "I also want to make sure that the baby knows who their real parents are. I don't want to hide that from them. And I think we should let Lynx and Iexa know what's going on too. They would be good protectors." Thea had given the whole thing a lot of thought while she waited for Rydan to come home from work.

Sometimes he didn't want to believe how dangerous her job was, but he also knew that she danced out of trouble like she danced into it most of the time. Which was in a graceful and timely manner. She had always told him what she did and he tried very hard not to worry about her on those late nights when her cute butt was decidedly not beside his.
He always stayed awake until he felt her sneak in, she was quiet.
"I agree. I think the twins would love it. They should definitely know who their real parents are and that they were and are loved. "

The fact that Rydan was so on board with everything just meant that she loved him even more. Thea went up on her tip toes to press a kiss to his cheek. "Thank you. For being so understanding of the situation." It meant a lot to her that he was willing to let his world be turned upside down. Adding another little one to the mix would be a lot but they could manage she was sure. "You know we'll have to keep it a secret that we took in my brother's kid." So to the outside world it would be as if she and Rydan had another.
