Quote: Prompt 3 (Drink Yourself Silly): Pop up shops are a dime a dozen in Destiny City this time of year, and for as much weirdness as they cause, there’s still something alluring about them. Walking through the city, you happen to come across one that seems particularly cozy and is decorated in such a way that you just know they’re trustworthy. The menu only has a few items but there’s something for everyone.
Maybe it’s hot chocolate, maybe it’s coffee, maybe it’s some chilly winter sweet--whatever it is, it’s delicious. And magic, but you didn’t know that when you ordered it. It started with an itch at the back of your throat, but what happened after that was anyone’s game. Some of the drinks turn into a tickle in your nose, and now you’re suddenly sneezing snowflakes for the next hour. Maybe you finish your drink and you suddenly feel warm--like you’re in the middle of summer. (Do you even need your coat? It’s so hot! --Or is that a fever?) Or, the itch turns into something else--and suddenly you feel the urge to sing. It’s compulsive, you can’t help yourself, you must sing. It’s like you’ve forgotten how to communicate in any other way. It fades an hour after you finish the drink, but still... It felt unaccountably bold, to Rosalie, to be showing up at Lysithea's--Anastasia's--apartment like this. Just herself, bundled up warm for the chill evening, and some hot cocoa from a cute little popup. It felt like a romance novel moment, which might mean that she was too deep in her latest draft and needed to come up for air, or might mean that she had a huge crush on a pretty girl and, quite frankly, she intended to kiss her.
Either way, she was here, and she raised a fist to knock on the door. Her heart raced. Her cheeks were flushed, but she could pretend that was from the cold.
She was going to see Lysithea, in private, at her apartment, and it was going to be magical.

Anastasia had been working on a new cookie recipe she had found online, though paused when she heard the knock on the door. She wasn't expecting any visitors, but hoped that whoever it was would stay until the cookies were finished. They were delightful things, chocolate with a caramel center, and she just hoped that they would come out as good as they sounded online.
Thankfully, she was at a spot that made it easy to slip away and answer the door, and when she saw that it was Rosie, her dark blue eyes lit up with absolute delight. "Hi! I didn't know you were planning to come over! I'm baking cookies!" What else was new though. She was always baking something nowadays, it was just such a grounding hobby.
"Come in, come in! It's so chilly outside! I'm really happy to see you!"

Ana was happy to see her. That was all Rosie could ask for, really, to be welcomed into her friend's home with a smile. And her own was bright, and happy, and she stepped inside with the drinks.
"I'm sorry, I probably sohuld have called ahead, but I saw this little shop and I just thought....well, hot chocolate is nice, but it's even nicer shared with someone else, right?" She offered Ana the tray, so she could step out of her jacket.
The implication that her decision to stop by was spontaneous was basically 90% a massive lie, because she had absolutely planned out every step of this, including spending literal hours picking out exactly the right combination of cute blouse, ruffly skirt, and tights that would keep her warm but also look ideally cute once she took off her jacket and....it had been a trial, really. But it all felt worth it.
And there was a heavenly smell in the air.
"Oooh, are you baking? It smells great!"

This was easy. She could do this. Mostly. Rosie was so very sweet, and even though Ana always felt like she was missing something big between them…she liked what they had? And the girl had such a pretty smile.
“I’m…always baking. It’s…calming, I guess.” Carefully she took the drinks to the kitchen counter and set them on it, sighing softly. “I hope you’ll stay to see them finished?”
Peeking in on the cookies, Ana seemed at least slightly satisfied with how they were looking. At least with baking she was in full control, and if things got ******** up…it was her fault regardless of what happened. Plus, cookies didn’t push you away when you wanted to comfort them…cookies just. Let you eat them. Even if it burnt. That was just a risk you wanted to take.
Because you loved them.
Gritting her teeth, Ana looked over to Rosie again. “...How did you know I was lonely and kind of wanting company?”

"Oh, that's really nice! What a good skill to have. I can't cook at all, so maybe I need to spend more time over here." Rosie looked sheepish as she admitted to it, a wry little half-smile on her face. "Really, I just burn things. Lots of microwave meals and such for me."
Terrible for her figure, of course, but needs must, really. And she was excited to see what kind of cookies Ana was making. It would be nice to enjoy something made by someone she liked so much.
"Of course I'll stay," she said, eyes going a little wide at even the slight suggestion of anything else. "I mean, I didn't know, but I'm glad I decided to come by, then."
Ana needed her. She needed to be here. It was perfect.

“You…eat microwaved meals? Rosie, no…come here whenever you’re hungry. I’ll cook for you. You shouldn’t be eating that crap.” Her voice came out a little sharper than intended, and she mentally tried to calm herself down. “I mean. You. Deserve better. And I’d love to take care you you if you’d let me.”
If someone would let her. It was all that Ana really wanted right now, anyway. “I’m glad you decided to come by too. It’s nice to have company.” She rubbed the bridge of her nose and forced a smile. “I’m sorry. I’m in a bit of an odd mood. Had a disagreement with my brother and it’s. Weighing on me. I’m not trying to take it out on you, honestly. You’ve done nothing wrong. It’s…just residual anger. I promise.”
Hesitating, Ana glanced over at the cheery girl. “...I um. Would like a hug if you’d be at all willing.”

The vehemence surprised her, but Rosie still nodded. Better to visit Ana and have some good food than to wallow and make another cup of Easy Mac and sadness.
"I'd be glad to let you take care of me," Rosie said, very genuinely. "Goodness knows I can barely take care of myself." She gave an awkward little laugh, wringing her hands together with a small smile. "I'm sorry about your fight with Eion, though. Do you want to talk about it?"
It was without an ounce of hesitation, though, that she went for the hug. She pressed close, wrapping her arms around Ana's shoulders, and squeezed. "It's okay if you don't. I'm here for you for whatever you need, Ana. I promise."

For a moment, Anastasia tensed with the hug, but then relaxed into it, returning it and going so far as to snuggle herself into Rosie a little, huffing a soft breath into her hair.
“It…was stupid. He was attacking a White Moon Senshi who had said that he was his friend and it just. It would have been so much easier to bring him over to our side. And then he didn’t. I mean.” She swallowed hard and squeezed her eyes shut. “...it sounds so stupid when I say it out loud. But I went to find him to. I don’t know. Yell at him and apologize and just…not leave bad blood but he first told me to ******** off, but claimed he was talking to his youma and didn’t see me…and then he got so sad and I tried to comfort him.”
She began to tremble slightly. “And he pushed me away and it just. What kind of a sister am I if I can’t comfort my brother? What if he’s decided he hates me because I rescued the senshi? What if I’ve messed everything up and he just…I don’t know. But I hate all of it.”
The dam broke then and Ana felt the tears begin to escape her eyes, a hitched sob coming soon after.

Rosie let herself sink into the hug, enjoying being pressed close to Ana and feeling her presence--her warmth, the comforting tickle of her breath in Rosie's hair, the sheer pleasure of being close to her. It was just this side of heaven, and it made Rosie want more, desperately.
But this wasn't the moment--at least, not yet, not when Ana was so clearly upset. She moved just a little away, so she could reach up with one hand and brush a thumb over Ana's cheek, giving her a soft, comforting look.
"I think," Rosie said gently, "if he hates you because you're so kind and gentle, that's his fault, not yours. But I think your brother is scared of losing you all over again, and maybe that's made him all sharp-edged, especially with people on the other side trying to make nice with you, or with him. He might be worried they're trying to steal you away from us again. But that's not your fault, and you didn't do anything wrong."
She smiled, faintly.
"You know, you saved my life once, even though we were on opposite sides at the time. You've always been good at helping people, Ana. It's one of the things I lo--" She paused, and flushed dark red. "One of the things I l-like a lot, about you."

Lysithea pressed a little closer, drinking in what Rosie was saying. It made sense, and she felt so nice and warm and…she was so comforting. It was nice. Nice to be comforted.
“I saved you? What…what happened?” This was a story she hadn’t heard, and one about her…as a White Moon Senshi…she hadn’t had any of those, not really. Not more than saying she was trapped and misguided. Lied to.
“I’m very glad I saved you, honestly.” She hesitated, nuzzling a little closer to Rosie, smooshing her face into the crook of her neck, sighing against the smooth skin. “...Tell me about us? About…everything. I know…I know that I don’t want to know. I know that I can’t live up to your expectations…but tell me about us?”

Rosie smiled, soft and warm and gentle. This was her chance--to spin her story to Ana however she wanted. It really was a blessing that Faustite had given her, this chance to say whatever she wanted.
"Well, you know how youma don't like Senshi very much?" Ilse sighed. "It was a terrible misunderstanding, for the most part, but this youma attacked me, and you chased it off and heled me with your magic, and it....really was sort of like those stories you, hear, you know? About a knight coming to rescue a lady in need? Except of course that it was more of a strong, powerful fairytale princess doing the rescuing, but....um." Ilse coughed, nervously, cheeks going red.
"Anyway, I..." She reached up to run her fingers through Ana's hair. "I don't want to hold you to anything that we had before, Ana. That wouldn't be fair. But...I..." She swallowed her nerves. "I've been in love with you for a long time, and I'll understand if you don't feel the same way! You don't have to, I just....want you to know."
She was. She had been. Not as long as she was making Ana think, but since the moment they met, for certain. It was why she wanted Ana back so badly.

Ana blinked and pulled away, her face still wet from tears. “You…you were in love with me…even when I was…on the other side…?” She felt her cheeks beginning to burn, though it wasn’t an unpleasant feeling. “I…I mean I think I sort of figured that…I mean. That I was important to you, I just…were we…did we date? I’m sorry that I’ve forgotten…”
She really was, enough that it made her stomach twist in discomfort. “I do want you to know that I'm so glad that…that you’re here. And that we’re friends…that..” Ducking her head back into the crook of Rosie’s neck, she almost smiled, but hesitated and pressed the lightest of kisses there. “That you told me…and that…maybe we can…um. Pick up wherever we left off…even if…even if I don’t remember it…?”

Rosie nodded, and she reached up to brush a thumb over Ana's cheek.
"I was. We....we didn't get the chance to, before....I never got the chance to tell you." Better to keep a grain of truth in the lie, just in case she didn't get a chance to tell Faustite what she'd spun. "But that's okay. It means...it means we get to try now, doesn't it? And we're not picking up where we left off. WE're picking up forward."
She turned, and kissed Ana's cheek.

Ana flushed and looked almost shy, nodding slightly, though jumped when the timer on the oven went off. Moving swiftly, she went to peek in on the cookies, and drew them out of the oven with a practiced movement, slipping the other tray that had been chilling in the fridge into its place.
She glanced back at Rosie and swallowed, trying to figure out the whole timeline. “So…did you know me before they took me…? Or did we meet when I was your…ah…princess in shining armor?” Ana found that she couldn't quite figure that part out…but…
Her cheek felt so hot from where Rosie had kissed it…and she wanted more of it.

Rosie let Ana go--no reason to let perfectly good cookies burn, after all. Her question made her pause, but she tried not to show it on her face. She'd tangled things up a bit, hadn't she? Too many lies. Stupid, stupid, stupid. But that was okay, it was all fixable, surely.
"We met before," Rosie lied, and she hated herself for tangling up her own timelines, "but you found me all over again, even after Order took you. I just....have been really lucky, to get to find you over and over again."
She smiled, fondly, and moved back over.
"Can...can I kiss you?"
