As soon as she was done with her subordinate meeting, Sylvite did just what she'd been wanting to do for hours.

She teleported up into the city and she ran.

It turned out that just running wasn't enough to clear her head. Parkour was better. She did flips over benches, she used handrails on public stairs like a tightrope, she did handsprings back to back on the tightrope, and the whole time she put her whole focus on the technique of it. Her landings were perfect. Her bad thoughts were far away.

For a couple seconds there, she wasn't worried about all of the times that she'd messed up in the last couple of months, all of the times that she hadn't been there for people. She wasn't worried about how she'd lost them, as a result.

She wasn't worried about gross knight auras.

She almost flipped right into the woman in sparkly rainbow clothes.

When she landed, she stood up blinking, her head spinning. "Hi?"

Sava made a noise of surprise when the General nearly fell into her arms. It was almost romantic really, and she reached to try and catch her, hoping that she didn’t get hurt but, alas. Now she had managed to right herself, so that was fine too. “Are you okay? You could have gotten pretty hurt you know…you shouldn’t go ahead and jump around like that without watching where you’re going…”

She sighed and frowned slightly. “I’m Sava, Knight of Cosmos. Who do I have the pleasure of meeting tonight? Sorry to jump into a lecture…but. I don’t want anyone to get hurt.”

The idea of a Negaverse General looking so…well. Acting absent minded like that…it was worrisome. “Are you okay?” The question was repeated, but it was softer this time, hopefully coming across as more gentle.

Sylvite stumbled right into the knight's arms.

Which, like, for a second there, it was sweet? Sava was warm, and was nice in a way that she wasn't ready for. The static in her brain flickered and went away for the first time in weeks.

Then she processed what was happening. It was like she saw the white sparkles all at once. Her eyes widened. She pushed away and stepped back, fast, only to bump hard into a wall.

The lecture wasn't working, obviously.

"I'm Sylvite," she said, 'cause that wasn't a secret, and instead of trying to run or flip more, she just pressed herself up against the wall, as flat as possible.

She kept staring at the woman's sparkles. She kept staring at the stars.

"Did he send you?" she asked, quieter.

Sava blinked, confused and tilted her head, opening her mouth for a second and then closing it, before opening it again. “...Did…ah. Who send me? I wasn’t sent by anyone, I was just out for a walk to clear my head, and then you fell for me.” She grinned softly, teasing, but then let her expression soften once again.

“...It’s lovely to meet you, General Sylvite. I…don’t mean to pry, but are you okay? You…seem spooked…ah…are you having some issues?” Sava took a step backwards, not wanting to frighten the General with any sudden movements or loud noises.

She almost looked like a startled deer, or at least that was what Sava thought as she watched her and when she noticed that Sylvite seemed to be staring at her, she hesitated. “...Are you being hurt? In…in the Negaverse? Are you okay? I…I know what it’s like. I…” Sava drew in a breath. “I was a General until about a year ago, you know. I do know what it’s like.”

She probably would've thought her jokes about falling for her were cute if her head wasn't all fuzzy again.

"Thorite," said Sylvite, like it should have been obvious. Then she blinked.

"Or, like, he probably doesn't go by that anymore. He's got the stars like you, now. Uh, Cosmos. That means you guys serve the same Princess, right?" It had been a long time ago since she'd talked to someone about how the Knight stuff was structured, way before she was taking meticulous notes on everything, but she thought she remembered that part. "That means you're on the same team, so he'd, like-?"

Send Sava after her for coming after him? Something like that, she didn't know.

It had made more sense in her head, when Sava wasn't smiling at her.

The news that Sava was a traitor, too, made her lips twitch. She summoned her knives, 'cause she knew that was what she was supposed to do, but she didn't move once she was holding them.

"Why are you worried about me?" she asked. "If you're a traitor, we're supposed to like, fight to the death. I don't-" her voice cracked, and she spat out the truth she'd been sitting on for weeks now.

"I don't want to. But-"

Sava wracked her brains, trying to remember if she had ever met anyone named Thorite, and with a slow shake of her head she shrugged. “That name means nothing to me, I’m sorry. Nobody ah. I mean, I know a few Cosmos Knights, but none that had gone by Thorite when they were one the Negaverse side, I’m so sorry…”

She stilled when Sylvite drew her weapons, cautious, but still worried for the General. She seemed unsure of herself…and.

And when that had been Sava…when she had been Cavansite…she hadn’t really had help. Not when she was really growing the most unhappy…there had been some encouragement when she had been lower in the ranks but…
“If you don’t want to, you shouldn’t have to, Sylvite. I know it’s frightening, the feeling that you’re being watched every moment of every day…the knowledge that if you slip up…you might get a worm put in your head to bring you back to the ‘right path’. I’ve been there. It happened to me…it. I thought I had lost one of my subordinates that way and it nearly killed me. But…Sylvite. We don’t have to fight. You’re your own person, not Metallia’s puppet…no matter what they say. No matter what the chaos flowing through you may whisper too.”

Sava slowly extended a hand towards the General, leaving herself completely open for an attack should one come. “You and I could be friends, if you wanted. I haven’t…been up to my Wonder yet, but if you wanted to come with me…I bet it would be beautiful.”

"I'm not scared," said Sylvite, even though she was pressed so hard against the wall that she could feel the scratchiness of the bricks through her uniform jacket. Her hands shook.

"I'm not a traitor. You don't have to be scared unless you're a traitor."

She didn't know what the feeling that had been buzzing in her head for weeks had been, but she didn't think it was fear. She'd been scared before, lots of times, and that had been different.

That had felt like she was jittery, and she couldn't breathe, and-

Yeah. Totally different.

She had no idea what she was talking about with worms and puppets, but that was the kind of stuff that sounded like propaganda. This lady was obviously not just a traitor, but one who had messed up bad.

Still, Sylvite didn't stab her.

"What's a Wonder?" she asked, instead.

“I never said that you were a traitor, don’t worry about that.” Sava had never really thought she would end up a traitor either but…it had been so blissfully easy to just leave.

Blinking at the sudden change of questions, Sava gave a little smile. “A Wonder is what a Knight protects. Where our power comes from. It’s a place…ah. Up in space, that we protected in the past and continue to protect in the present. A friend of mine, I’ve been to her wonder a few times, it has a wonderful beach, and it’s very beautiful.”

She wanted to go back up with Ein, but…another time. Not right now. Hopefully one day soon though…

“I need to go to mine, I think there will be a river. Someone told me that Sava was a river, so…here’s hoping, right? I bet it will be lovely…” As for the reason she hadn’t gone yet?

Sava didn’t really have an answer for that.

Space.

Sylvite knew about that. She knew about all of the worlds that the senshi and knights had destroyed. She'd learned about that a long time ago. Sava was talking about the places being beautiful, and about protecting it or something, but that had to be, like, a lie.

Yeah. That made the most sense.

Order was always pretending to be all pretty and perfect. They hid all the parts of their past and present that were messed up and gross. They lied.

The Wonder was probably actually like, a lair.

She didn't wanna end up in the lair of someone who was implying that she was gonna be a traitor. She didn't wanna end up in the lair of someone who was a traitor.

She considered the knives in her hands one more time but she couldn't bring herself to do that either and she knew it.

"I can't go," she said instead. "I told you, I follow the rules."

Then, before the lady could say anything else weird, she vanished.
