Prompt 11 (Marshmallow Snow): Fresh-fallen snow coats Destiny City. It’s pristine and crisp, and it crunches as you walk through it. It may be a few inches deep, but it doesn’t seem to go above your calves when walking. At first, it’s easy enough to walk through, but gradually you realize that it’s getting harder to move. Every step you take feels like the snow is pulling you back in, and if you get a good look you might realize that sticky white fluff is clinging to you. The more you walk, the more it pulls, until you’re almost completely stuck. Something about the snow smells oddly sweet, and the tacky, marshmallow-like snow seems like it’s suddenly become a prison. The more you try to break free, the stickier it gets, and you’d better hope you don’t fall down. The more you struggle the harder it is to escape, but if you manage to stay still for a few minutes, the marshmallow will freeze and crystallize. When you move again, the snow will turn into a powdery dust and you can break free easily. The only good thing about this is that you won’t starve if you get trapped–the snow tastes just like marshmallows.

Dawn looked worriedly at her twin, who was still on crutches. "Are you sure, you are going to be alright?" She asked him as she put her wool cap and gloves on." He gave a lopsided grin and nodded. "Okay." Their foster mother, Laurie stopped to give Davie some instructions, as she was leaving him in charge. Then for Laurie, her adopted son, Kane who was 17, Dawn, as well little Kate (7 years old), they headed for the mini-van, for they had donated tickets for the Nutcracker. A rich family, the Bones, she believed, donated them.

Dawn had been friends with Dria Bones at St. Mags. Dria didn't really belong there, as she had gotten to some trouble caused by anger issues driven memory loss and a blow to the head, which she eventually healed from. Dria actually had been a foster child in their home, when she was practically a Jane Doe, knowing only her own first name. Now she had found her family, including her twin brother Drew, and her younger sister Dani. She still kept in contact with the foster home, and actually had some exciting news lately; she had moved on from St. Mags. to HITs and had turned 20, as well as now had 12 month old twin brothers, named Dell and Den. Unfortunately, due to Life's craziness, Dawn and Dria had grown apart.

The ride was uneventful except for a few nativity scenes and holiday lights,. However, when they got to the parking lot, strange things began happening. The snow had fallen just as they had driven over. It was crisp and pristine, and crunched nicely as they walked through it. Pretty easy, pretty normal to walk through. Well at least at first. They had parked far from the theatre, and soon the snow became difficult to walk in, almost sticky. Dawn didn't want to complain as she was an older kid and needed to set an example, but she was definitely getting her exercise here.

Kate started giggling, "You guys look so funny with that marshmellow stuff on you!" Huh? What was she talking? Some kind of game she was playing? Dawn, along with Laurie and Kane turned to look at her and each other. Sure enough, there was a lot of stringy, sticky marshmellow stuff sticking to all four of them. "What ...?" Laurie started. Kane was trying to pull his feet from the snow, and exclaimed, "It's the snow! The snow has turned to Marshmellow!" "But how is that possible?" Laurie cried out, trying to extract her self from it. Dawn rolled her eyes and retorted with common sense, "It's the holiday season in Destiny City, what do you expect?"

Kane and Laurie sighed. "Of course." Kane responded. Laurie grumbled, "Other cities get higher crime rate, we get -" "MARSHMELLOW SNOW!" Kate shrieked gleefully as she started gobbling it up. "Kate," Laurie said concerned and frowned. "I don't want you eating so much sweets." Dawn grinned and replied, "Well, we better eat it before she does!" Dawn then began chowing down. Kane smilled, "Well, Mom. we are stuck anyways." He began. Laurie tried to free herself, but found that he had a point.

Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at the doors of the theatre, covered in marshmellows. People stared, and the ticket checker asked if they were alright, and what happened to them. Laurie smiled and simply said, "Marshmellow Snow." The lady was confused and shocked. "I beg your pardon... Marshmellow Snow?"

Kane grinned "Get with the times. It's the Holiday Season in Destiny City! What do you expect?"
