Quote: Prompt 4 (Fear and Feathers): The moon is bright tonight and reflects off of the snowy ground, illuminating everything with an ethereal glow. Destiny City feels almost safe, even at night. The fresh fallen snow seems undisturbed and brings a sense of peace. Only, nothing is ever as good as it seems, and there’s something eerie about it. After a while, it feels like someone--or something--is watching you. In the shadows of the trees, a set of milky eyes watches. Whatever it is, it’s tall and bulky. If you walk quickly, you feel it follow you but once you leave the line of trees, it disappears. If you try to approach it, a great beast will screech at you: a six foot tall snowy white owl takes flight. It may tackle or claw at you, depending on how you approach it, but it will always take flight and disappear in the night. If you choose to attack it, for the next few nights any time you look out your window you will see glowing eyes in the distance--or worse, hear it scratching to get in. Eventually, the temperature rises and the visits stop. For now. Note: The owl is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to count this for a battle. If you repeat the prompt with the same character, only one will count for a battle requirement. The owl will not appear to have any magical abilities and seems to simply be a very large, aggressive owl. The ground might be covered in snow, which also blanketed the whole of the city, but it wasn't enough to keep everyone indoors. This was something the ashen blond was greatful for as he past by the entrence into the city park, hands casually in the pockets of his coat. If not for his uniform, and just how outlandish it seemed, he would fit in rather well with how casually he walked down the snow covered path which round through the park.
There would hopefully, if he was lucky, be someone wandering about the park whom he could drain a bit of energy from. He wasn't planning to drain a lot, not enough to leave a person out in the cold unconsious. He wasn't looking to land someone in the hospital...or the grave. He just figured it wouldn't be a bad time to grab a little bit of energy whilst he could, and hope no one else was out who might take issue with it. He wasn't looking to get into any fights tonight, or for a while for that matter, Mason had not been pleased with how he'd returned home from the last big battle. He wasn't looking to upset his partner again, especially not so soon after the last time.
Maybe, if he was lucky, would run into someone he knew and was on good terms with...a way to properly pass the time. He doubted it though.

One moment, Benitoite was alone in the park.
The next, an Eternal Dark Mirror’s energy signature manifested just a few yards away.
“There’s a face I haven’t seen in a while,” Remarque said; he’d appeared suddenly, stepping through a mirror he’d hidden in the park. Almost immediately, he’d felt the signature, and it had taken him only a second longer to spot Benitoite between the trees.
He brushed invisible lint off of his uniform as he moved around the bushes and trees.
“What’s been keeping you so busy, Benitoite? I was starting to think something had happened to you.”
Oh, how he hated the cold. How he hated all of this. But, at least with company he could try to ignore the winter weather a little better.

Turning at the signature of energy he nodded his head, slowly. "Mmm, like wise. Though that could be a good thing. It would mean you've not seen a battle in a while, something I can't personally say." Shrugging a bit as he spoke.
Shaking his head he approached his friend. "Aliens...and what I'd call royal intrigue of a sort. Something different from the usual I suppose, and for that I should be greatful. I'm not though, I dislike the dealings under the table and cloak and dagger games. I'd much rather be blunt and up front about things." No hiding things. It wasn't that he couldn't play the same games, he had before in the past, but he didn't like them...especially when he was unaware of said games.
"How have you and the court been? I assume well, I've not seen much of your court or you. That should mean good things." Though with mirror space being what he remembered it to be, as he'd been told some about it, he couldn't be sure really.
"Shall we walk and talk, it's been awhile since we've spoken at length." And he did enjoy the other blonds company. They might serve different sides in the war but they both served chaos, of some sort, and that was fine by him.

“I don’t mind a walk,” Remarque said; it was cold enough that any little bit of activity might have helped ward off the chill. “The Court’s been fine,” he answered, not particularly keen to divulge unnecessary information. He didn’t think anything that had happened with them recently was worth going over. They’d been in Mirrorspace for a while, and he had been in something of a scuffle, but it didn’t sound as interesting as whatever Benitoite was going on about.
“What’s this about aliens and royal intrigue? If you like being blunt and up front, don’t beat around the bush with me. I haven’t caught wind of anything of the sort, yet.”
He nodded for Benitoite to lead the way; he didn’t have a particular destination in mind; he was only here for the company.

"You know I do prefer being blunt and honest." He was a terrible liar and he didn't much care what people thought of what he said, why should he? So he did tend to speak his mind in a rather blunt manner.
"I don't know everything, even I can't find out every bit." He said, as a warning to his friend. There were some things he just didn't know and couldn't find out, so there would be some questions he couldn't answer. He figured some warning was polite, and he did respect his friend enough to be so polite.
"It would seem back during the Silver Millenium we, Beryl, had a deal with some other planet. They came here...and nearly all of them left. One was left behind...a prince...and what would have, and should have, been there senshi. Apparently his starseed was so damaged that he couldn't power up. They wanted us to kill him, as if we were around to just do them such a favor." Why couildn't they have done it themselves? He might not have wanted to die, to sacrifice himself, and he could understand that. But why not have someone stab him in the back - litterally? It wouldn't be so damn hard...even poision would have worked, right? He knew enough about natural poisions to know it wasn't a bad option really....so long as the dose was right and they didn't survive somehow...or suffer needlessly.
"We didn't kill him for some reason...and he survived and got free. He returned home and brought the aliens with him...to deal with and destroy us...or so it seems he and his little followers thought. Someone however was there to finish the job...having us finish him. I missed a good bit of what was said and the history being talked about, it seems a few senshi and knights thought I made a good punching bag." And had knocked him out, which he implied but didn't say. He didn't like admitting to such, but would if asked, he wasn't just going to offer such to the other. Thankfully he'd heard enough from his cousin to know what he'd missed.
"His friend grabbed his starseed in order to finish him...and do the job himself - as he should have back then." Sniffing a bit, nose in the air, he disliked the fact the man couldn't do it himself. Why not own up to wanting to kill your friend and do it your own damn self? Not ask them to do it? Why travel so far in order to have someone else deal with the dirty work? It was like they looked down on Beryl and the Negaverse and wanted them to do what was too dirty to them. How insulting. He'd gotten annoyed over it once he'd heard the missing bits from his cousin and pieced things together. Of course he was making assumptions, he was sure of it, and so he kept his mouth closed.
He didn't know just why they'd been asked or what the original deal had entailed...or even the new one. But he still felt a bitter taste in his mouth. He'd keep it to himself though...or mostly to himself.
"I don't know why they wanted us to do it then or now...what deal they had with us - with Beryl and Matalia. But there had to be something more to it. Either way the fighting went bad...it seems like an asteroid was blown up, I was unconsious for that. Some people were forcefully corrupted...some turned traitor and purified. I remember that." One of the ones who hit him was a General who turned traitor. "The aliens...at least some of them...they remain here with our permission to do so. But some seemed to have sided in the battle with the other side....they might be here as well still." Shrugging as he spoke, walking along the path. His boots scuffed the ground and his hands were stuffed deep into his pockets, to keep his gloved hands just that much warmer.
"Keep what I say to yourself...unless it becomes an issue. I doubt it will...at least not for a while." And it was likely the Negaverse would be involved but not likely for the others courtt to become wrapped up in this mess.
"It does seem like a whole royal drama and I don't know it all." And he disliked that very much. He didn't like not knowing everything so he could keep himself, and his family, as safe as possible. But he couldn't, and wouldn't, go making demands for information. It wasn't his place. If he was supposed to know things he'd be told them - he knew it.
Stopping to look at his friend he tilted his head a bit. "It means there is life in space...beyond here and destroyed worlds of senshi. There is more out there...somewhere." Possibly even more than just those aliens. What else though....? Could this be useful to the dark mirror court? "Maybe it is true...what science says about the universe still expanding..." Maybe that's why and how? Kyuseisha no Hikari I assume he knows all this infor from the battle and what his cousin heard, since he was unconsious for some parts of things.

Sometimes, Remarque didn’t know if Benitoite preferred to be blunt and honest, but he appreciated it now.
He was glad he had time to listen.
Benitoite’s story seemed–
Well, not impossible. Incredible, maybe, but Remarque doubted he had any reason to lie to him.
He didn’t tell Benitoite that he was good with deciding what information went where, but neither did he promise to keep it a complete secret. He wasn’t going to disadvantage his Court by keeping secrets.
…Especially if there was life out there.
“Hard to say, I’m not one of those scientists that gets to declare such things. But it’s interesting, at least. What can these aliens do, anything useful?”

"They didn't seem capable of anything outside the ordinary. Maybe stronger than you'd expect, at least the leader. But otherwise...tall and average as far as I could gather." Though that might have been a bit off since he had missed some things, due to a lack of consiousness. But he did know enough from what he'd seen, and what his cousin had filled in. "Simple weapons...laster gun or knives it seems." Shrugging a bit as he stared at the other.
"If you tell your court, which I know you will, make sure word doesn't reach my side. I don't want it getting out that I leaked anything. But I've always thougth of chaos as chaos...we're similar enough that senshi and knights dislike us." Though his side more but they were still both chaos and disliked and not trusted. Their enimies were, generally speaking, the same factions.
He remembered when they'd first had a truce...and he still tried to hold to it as much as he could. He just didn't let others know this. "Did you notice anything in the sky that night? I was told there was an explosion and it lit up the sky..."
Looking around as they continued on their walk, at least he had company and the cold wasn't as bad. Was it just his paranoia, about being caught divulging this information, that had him feeling like he was being watched? Becuase he certainly felt it, more and more as he spoke, he was a creepy sort of feeling that had him talking past a knot forming in his stomach. He was sure he wasn't being watched though, right? No one would know he was out here, randomly, with Remarque who he just happen to come across.
"You could try and find them? I don't know what they'd think of you and your court, if they know about you even. They might be willing to talk...to help perhaps?" He said glancing at the other with a somewhat hopeful look. It would be nice to see the other court gain something in this whole mess of a war. They had to want something beyond the mirror - right? Maybe, if nothing else, a safety for the dark mirror court if the war ever got too out of hand for them.

“I know how to keep a secret, Benitoite,” he reminded. He was full of them, he’d never outed the General before and he wasn’t going to start now. He appreciated the information, even if he didn’t know what to do with it. Aliens shouldn’t have been such a foreign concept–that’s what the Mauvians were anyway, right?
But this was something else, he needed to give it time to sink in.
So far as he was concerned, the Negaverse had plenty more enemies than the Dark Mirror Court, and Remarque was more than happy to keep it that way.
“I remember it was storming pretty bad. The power went out for a bit. I have noticed something in the sky, I should have known it was more than just some astral anomaly. Where do you find them? I’d like to talk to someone if I can, see if we can figure something out.”

"I know you do and yet I always seem to think I need to say it, though I know I don't with you. A habbit I suppose." Shrugging a bit. It seemed that with his job came many secrets wh ich needed to be kept...and the need to remind people of what they could and could not say - what was dangerous.
"Some of that might have been from our battle...I don't know all the particulars, but I'm sure somethign which they did may have caused the storm...or worsened an already here storm." He couldn't be sure which but he was certain there battle had an impact on the weather, there was no way it wouldn't have.
"The sky was entierly us...it happens when you blow up an asteroid..." At least he was certain that was somethign which happened, all that power and blowing something big up. It had to cause something cosmic which people could see. Again he was looking around them as he spoke, he wasn't poaranoid - he'd swear on it. And then he saw it! Right there...milky colored eyes glowing in the darkness!
Pointing it out to his friend he shook his head. "Something is watchging us - and I'm sure I can figure out a meeting for you with their leader. Give me a night or two to try and arrange it. " He wasn't even sure where they had gone, or would go, but he'd find out and help Remarque out in whatever way he could. The blond was his friend.
"What is that?" Already stepping away from his fellow blond as he made to approach the eyes, and whatever owned them. Summoning his weapon as he continued towards it, best to be prepared.

Remarque looked in the direction Benitoite had pointed and was neither impressed nor surprised to find a pair of eyes watching them.
“Well, if it’s a youma you should just be able to command it, right?”
What else was there here in Destiny City?
Well, no. Don’t answer that. There was a lot of weird s**t in town, youma were just the easiest to pin it on.
So far as he could tell, the thing wasn’t trying to attack them, it was just watching. He doubted it would have heard anything or gotten any good information from that distance, but he didn't have a weapon to brandish and threaten it with. He wasn’t nervous or alarmed; Benitoite seemed eager to meet it if it intended to give them a hard time. He wouldn’t even worry about using his magic if he didn’t have to.

Turning to look over his shoulder he shook his head. "That's the issue - it's not a youma." He couldn't control it, whatever it was. It wasn't something which he could sense at all. "I don't sense it at all....no chaos." He answered as he took another step towards the thing.
"I don't know what it is...but I don't like being watched much, especially not considering the discussion we were having." And not knowing what was watching them...or what it might be afiliated with. No, he had no reason to feel warm and fuzzy in side about this at all.
"If it was a youma I'd have already sent it off and told it not to speak a word to anyone about us." But he hadn't and that was, as he'd said, because it wasn't a youma and he couldn't give it orders. "I can't think of anyone else with creatures which can watch others...or creatures at all." Senshi and knights didn't have beasts and the like working with them. So what was this?
