Thankful
Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
It is this time of the year, when the weather starts to get cooler and the crops are all brought in, that the people of Tendaji begin to look back. They look back at the friends they've made over the past year, the people they've come to love, and those they have lost. It's a monumental time of self-reflection, of examining the world they live in and everything that they went through over the past year.
And it's a time to give thanks. Thanks to their gods, to each other, to themselves. It's a beautiful reflective time of year, and one that many Tendaji natives will celebrate with little gifts, special harvest feasts, or a moment alone with those they love.
[ Sometimes we don't spend enough time thanking others for all they do. Or thanking ourselves for the strength and growth we've gone through. In this prompt, we're looking for self-reflection, contemplation, and moments of thanks between your characters and the important ones in their lives. ]

Over the past few years she had gained a lot in life. First she’d gotten friends, though they weren’t the most reputable bunch, and they had lifted her spirits tremendously. Then she’d been blessed with twin boys. Jax and Djego. They had been the flame in her eyes for the longest time. And then she had come across Gael. The man had positively swept her off her feet and there was no denying that. And after time spent with him she was blessed with three more beautiful children; Visha, Korin, and Sekani. So when it came time to be thankful for things in life, Kalliope had much to thank the gods for.
“I am so blessed to be able to have so many good things in life. I am not sure what I would do without them.” The dancer said as she gathered up her things. She was just leaving, or getting ready to, from performing.
One of the other dancers over heard her and looked in her direction. “Oh yeah?” A smile graced her pretty lips. “Like that gorgeous husband of yours?” She liked to tease Kalli about him sometimes.
Kalliope chuckled and gave a simple nod of her head. “Among other things, yes. Gael is one of the blessings in my life.”
“What’s the others?” The woman couldn’t help her curiosity.
“Well, for starters I have my two oldest children. You know I don’t get to see them that often. They are grown and doing their own things now. Jax comes to visit since his work is in Oba but Djego stays in Jauhar. He sends letters all the time. I love hearing from him.” She had a large grin on her face as she spoke about her two oldest.
“Gael has a daughter, Brexxa. She might not be from me but I accept her. Even if she is a bit stand off-ish sometimes.” Kalli was still working on her relationship with her stepdaughter. She had high hopes for the two of them though. Brexxa had been slowly coming around, even after so many years.
“And then my three younger ones. Each of them has a different personality and they are such a joy. I’m not sure what I would do without them.”
“You have six kids.. Kalli, sweetie, you look good for a woman with six kids.”
Kalliope laughed and nodded. “I guess I do. One more thing to be grateful for then!”
“I wish I am half as lucky when I have my own children.” One of the younger dancers commented.
“I’m sure you will be, don’t worry.” Kalli reassured. Once she had all her stuff she made for the door, waving her goodbyes to the others. “Have a good night ladies, I’ll see you tomorrow!” And with that she slipped out the door.
She wanted to stop by the small temple on her way home so that she could truly let the gods know that she absolutely felt thankful to them for allowing her to have so much.
“I honestly don’t think I could make it if I didn’t have them all. I guess that makes me greedy, huh?” She asked the air. “I would gladly be labeled such if it meant I got to keep them or have them all over again in the next life.”
Great friends and family made her feel more rich than the wealthiest person in all of Oba. While, yes, the coin was nice it was cold and unfeeling. The hugs she got from her children were warm and inviting. The stolen kisses she shared with her husband were worth so much more than the best trinket she owned. And sure, Gael worked a lot to make sure she and the kids had everything, but to her the money was only the bonus. Kalli loved spending time with him and their kids more than anything else.
She was also looking forward to seeing them grow up. That was another thing. She was thankful for the time. Time she had to watch each of them develop into their own person. Time to see how handsome and beautiful they got. Time that she was able to take with each of them and share her knowledge and experiences to help guide them. If all she had was time to give them then that would mean more than anything.
“Now I understand what my parents meant when I was younger. Of course I didn’t appreciate it then.” She would need to send her parents a letter to let them know that she was sorry for being such a brat when she was younger.
