Quote: Prompt 3 (Drink Yourself Silly): Pop up shops are a dime a dozen in Destiny City this time of year, and for as much weirdness as they cause, there’s still something alluring about them. Walking through the city, you happen to come across one that seems particularly cozy and is decorated in such a way that you just know they’re trustworthy. The menu only has a few items but there’s something for everyone. Maybe it’s hot chocolate, maybe it’s coffee, maybe it’s some chilly winter sweet--whatever it is, it’s delicious. And magic, but you didn’t know that when you ordered it. It started with an itch at the back of your throat, but what happened after that was anyone’s game. Some of the drinks turn into a tickle in your nose, and now you’re suddenly sneezing snowflakes for the next hour. Maybe you finish your drink and you suddenly feel warm--like you’re in the middle of summer. (Do you even need your coat? It’s so hot! --Or is that a fever?) Or, the itch turns into something else--and suddenly you feel the urge to sink. It’s compulsive, you can’t help yourself, you must sing. It’s like you’ve forgotten how to communicate in any other way. It fades an hour after you finish the drink, but still... The walk to work had become a bit harder. One now how to deal with the cold and dressing up to protect themselves from the chill. Snow had started to fall which meant ice which meant boots that were at least somewhat slip-proof were required while walking. Less people on the sidewalks but more to worry about underfoot. Still, John thought that it was quite amazing how humans could turn such a cold time into something that could be enjoyable, especially with all of the pop-up shops! He mentally commended everyone who could stay out in the cold to sell their wares, the basement he was in may not have had windows, but at least the museum was temperature controlled! As he walked he noticed a new shop that had opened up and something about it caught his eye. Probably because he hadn't had his coffee that morning and he noticed it on the menu board. It seemed fitting for the season and he couldn't help but want a warm drink right that moment. He took a moment to see what they had, it was few, but it was hard to choose between coffee and chocolate. Especially hot chocolate. Especially if it was dark hot chocolate...

Michiko had been busy, school, baking cookies, and a lot of other things she loved the snow and the pop-up shops that were appearing all over the city. She was dressed warmly as everyone else in this snowy icy season. She had to get to school but with the chill in the air she wanted to grab a hot chocolate before she had to get to Meadowview High School. She was wearing her orange uniform under her black coat. She didn't really like the color of her uniform she preferred red over orange, then again she wasn't sure if anyone looked good in orange. She got in line to get a hot chocolate.

John felt a bit emberassed when he realized that it was finally his turn and he had been staring at the options for so long! He decided to go with a regular hot chocolate. Who could beat the classics after all! And tipped the vendor before checking the temperature of the cocoa. It was perfect! And took a sip of the drink. After he had swallowed it he felt the back of his throat itching a little bit and couldn't help but cough into his elbow, a bit aways from the stand, wondering if he had drunk it the wrong way. He took another drink and the itch came back. Could it be an allergic reaction. WAS HE NOW ALLERGIC TO CHOCOLATE?!?!

Michiko was getting her hot chocolate when she noticed someone having a really bad reaction to the hot chocolate so she stopped and went over to them. "Are you alright?" She asked worried "Do you need a bottle of water or something or do you need help?" She fussed in a worried tone. She was a bit of a busy body at times but it came from a good place even if she was a bit of a mother hen at times. She was worried the man was in trouble and she wanted to help if she could. She had forgotten about getting her cocoa at this point.

He coughed into his arm a bit more before he heard a voice near him and looked up, making sure to cover his cough again. "Uh, water would be nice. As soon as I sipped this cocoa I felt a tickle in my throat. I'm not sure if it's from that or if I drank it wrong." Though he wasn't sure how a tickle would come from drinking it in the wrong way. Perhaps pain, but tickling? That was weird. He felt it going away a little. "You might try yours first? Maybe I'm just having a weird reaction to mine." Though he hoped it wasn't just him. Maybe if someone else had the same reaction, it didn't mean he was allergic to chocolate? That would be one delicacy he did not want to remove from his life!

Michiko went to buy the man a bottle of water and then she handed it to him and shook her head "No I have to go to school after this and I don't want to risk having a reaction too, you never know it could be a prank and someone added pepper to the batch or cayenne pepper." She made a face at the suggestion and she kept her voice down since she didn't want to offend the workers. She wasn't sure this wasn't a magical problem but she didn't sense anything and she didn't notice the man having his energy drained. Magic was strange sometimes. The city seemed to be filled with it.

He smiled, though kept his mouth hidden with his arm, making sure not to cough on her as he gratefully took the bottle of water and took a drink. His throat felt better now, but still... "It is odd though, you wouldn't think that a shop would want to sell prank drinks. This could give them bad business. And thank you for the water that helped." He didn't want to drink anymore of it and threw it in the trash and sighed. "And I was really looking forward to that. Now I'm going to be way more cautious around hot chocolate than I probably need to be." He said with a small chuckle. "I'm sorry about that, I hope I didn't make you late for school!" He said, frowning a little at the possibility. He knew he usually kept on time when it came to classes. "I think I'm good now! I'll keep this water with me just in case!"

Michiko nodded it was odd that anyone would do something like that and she wasn't sure if anyone would but it was easier than hey maybe the hot chocolate is magical or cursed and I don't think I'll be having a cup since I want to get to school on time. She laughed nervously. "It's hard to say what anyone would do." She shook her head and said "Don't worry about it I'm sure I won't get into too much trouble if I am late." She looked at her watch and said "I really must be going, I'm glad you are alright though and hope you have a wonderful holiday season." She said and rushed off to get to school she didn't want to get in trouble with her teachers. She was looking forward to holiday break she really needed it so she could bake some cookies and have some fun. Michiko hurried along the street towards her school the hot cocoa still on her mind she was glad it wasn't stealing energy though. (Fin)
