Itotia was taking some to clean up the family side of the compound. With two young boys who were full of energy, it was surprising that she kept it so clean. Maybe it was obsessively taking care of it, or the trainees she occasionally would drag in to help. Either way, with the holidays getting close and things slowing down, she found time on her own to take care of things.
She hoped that she would see Aria soon. The girl had been gone for awhile, traveling, and she wondered how she would look. Would she have changed at all? Surely she'd have new styles, new experiences and stories, but would she have grown? Gained a few new scars or even tattoos?
It wasn't the fact that she might have them that worried Itotia, but the fact that the mother missed such an experience.

Taliessin was wandering through the compound, on a break from her practice. She drummed her fingers against things as she went, still enjoying the feeling of callouses on her fingertips that were like badges of accomplishments. Many would have doubted the energetic girl could have settled into practice, but Taliessin found her skill and focused on improving each and every day.
"Hey mom." She greeted as she moved into the room, glad to see it was mostly clean which meant she wouldn't need to help too much. Instead she darted over toward the kitchen where she smelled the simmering meal that would be served later when her father returned.

In the far corner, away from others where the windows were open and the breeze came in, sat Goran. He was growing up, and a lot of his boyish energy was fading into a gentle simmer. He was a quiet boy, contemplative and considerate of those around him. His baby fat also was fading away, showing off more traits that matched his father over his petit mother and sisters.
In fact, some might consider him an angry child based on his resting face, especially if he was really thinking. But his family knew better...he was gentle, soft, and a boy in love with the natural world around them.

Itotia turned to look at her daughter, smiling softly at the young adult. She was proud of her daughter for all that she did and who she was slowly becoming. It was beautiful how much she had grown these past few years as she focused on her new art and trade. Itotia wasn't confident that she would go down the family path of art, or much of anything, but Taliessin proved her wrong.
"Darling, do me a favor and make sure that isn't burning."

It was an easy ask, since she was already there, and Taliessin moved on her toes to look over the tall pot. The steam from the broth and meats filled the air and her face quickly warmed as she looked it over. She wasn't as skilled with cooking like many others, but she recognized the signs of the stew needing a stir and quickly began to get to work to help mix things up.
As she did this, she glanced about and saw her youngest brother, sending him a wink.

Busted. Goran smiled sheepishly back toward his sister, before hopping down from the window and approaching the room. Still small, if lanky, he debated how he might offer his help. His sister seemed to have things handled, so he approached his mother.
"Hey mom." He said softly, glancing around and wondering what he could do to help.

Itotia spun around at the sound of her youngest and gave him a warm smile. She moved close to brush her hand through his soft hair, instinctively debating if it was time to trim it or maybe she let him grow them out. The thought was gone almost immediately as she brushed her fingers against his cheek and then began to focus on her task yet again.
"The gods have blessed me with two very helpful children. Now come on, help me prepare the table for when your father and brother get back."

As she finished stirring the contents to what she assumed was enough, Taliessin covered the pot and moved back toward the dining area where her mother and brother were. Swinging her body weight up and down her toes, she smiled brightly up at her mother before following the group toward the table.

Goran quickly began to pick up some of the toys and coloring stuff he was using earlier that day. He dutifully moved to place them back in his room, rushing away from the living area and into the hallway where he and his brother's rooms were. The house was a nice circle, always being updated by his father depending on the family's needs. He remembered when he was younger the space being cleared for larger play areas, mostly for his older brother but eventually he was permitted to play on the toys.
He loved the space, the nature between it really relaxing. He'd often pretend to get lost in the greenry, and was always watching the gardeners who tended the things and asking questions.

She moved back as her daughter and son began to tidy up, smiling softly down a them and taking a moment to think it over. She was so glad that Kres encouraged them to try again, not once but twice. The whole set of children was something she was proud of, and looking back she never imagined she would have children with the mainlanders.
Life was so different than when she was dragged overseas, demanded to dance and untrusting of anyone that she crossed. She was a lonely soul in a new world, and Kres not only brought her peace and protection, but a family to be proud of.

Taliessin waited for her brother to spring into action, and eyed what her mother was doing. As soon as she realized her mother was lost in her thoughts, Tali began to hum and moved toward where they kept the plates and cutlery. The sets were nice, nicer than the ones the girls got or the ones sold at the market, but Tali didn't know where they came from.
She knew their family was well off, not as much as her 'cousins' in Oba who had a dancer for a mother and a general for a father, but they were comfortable. And that comfort afforded her the ability to chase her dreams, or for Aria to travel the world, or the boys to study fighting, music, whatever they wanted.
It was hard to be humble, and Taliessin was not humble, but she knew that she should count her blessings and at least be aware of her priveldge in the world. Her mother made that clear.

As he walked back through the pathways, Goran just took the silence in for a while. He was young, so the thought of being thankful wasn't really to deep. But he did appreciate the peace that he found when at home. He was happy, in his own place where he felt like himself. Some of the kids at school seemed so keen to impress their parents, but he felt like his parents were always proud of him.
He loved his father and mother and the world they gave him, and Taliessin for being so kind when he needed it. He wished he had Aria around, but understood at a young age why. And Tiho was always a partner in crime and person he loved and appreciated just the same.

Snapping out of her memories as her children disappeared from the space, Itotia got back into management mode and looked over the table with a critical eye. Everything appeared to be in order, clean enough, and so she moved with intent to where Taliessin was and grabbed half of the settings. With a family of five (six), they had a full table all the time.
Walking back in, she placed the settings in the normal spots, effortlessly as she didn't worry too much about precision. It was enough for them to be there and ready to go.
"Goran, you better not get lost back there." She teased lightly with a smile.

The late teen quickly followed her mother, not as graceful as she wasn't the dancer in the family, but her ability to hold a bunch of things was solid since she had the muscle strength in her arms and hands. Finishing up the settings, Taliessin actually took more time to keep things straight, a little bit of obsessive compulsive behavior shining through, before she continued to hum.
Hearing her mother call out to the youngest, she couldn't help but giggle a bit.
