I have thought of the Christians huddled in the Roman arena. As the lions or other wild beasts looked at them. Ready to pounce and eat them. Ripping them apart for the amusement of the spectators.
I’m not the sort of person who would willingly cower and tremble as I waited to be devoured. It’s not that I’m particularly brave. It’s just that I don’t like giving up so easily in the face of danger.
So what do others think? Should Christians start organising into militias? Getting ready to defend themselves when the trouble starts? 🦊
Ecclesiastes 3:8
8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Luke 22:36-37
36 He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 37 It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’[a]; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”
