[This rp takes place a few days after the events of [here]]Whilst powering up was still normally something of a blue moon event for her, Mi-Hi had found herself tucking her henshin pen in amongst her possessions before she slipped out for the day–
And the clover-topped henshin pen had sat there in her bag nestled in amongst the shrimp crackers and honey butter chips that she had tucked in for a snack, knocking gently against the thermos of somewhat lukewarm tea and the bag of homemade salmon cat treats that had been carefully cut into little fish shapes.
The small park near her workplace had been empty by the time that Mi-Hi had finally finished work for the day - well at least of visitors of the two-legged variety - but even so she had hesitated for a good few moments before powering up.
After all it wasn't as if powering up had exactly gone so well last time around - but on the plus side this particular little park was mirror-less, the nearest mirror actually further along and nestled in an alleyway few streets down–
Besides it wasn't as if the denizens of the park would particularly care if she was Mi-Hi or Sadalsuud - they'd care more about the salmon cat treats.
Which is how Sadalsuud came to be sitting on the park's lone bench, with the thermos of the (by now) stone cold tea, absently watching as the 3 stray cats ate the cat treats.
The majority of her attention was on the strange crystal in her hand - clear but with a milky, purple haze swirling inside.
It was pretty - so very pretty - especially with the bits of gold that shimmered from within the purple swirls.
Almost like... Like stars. Stars caught in a spiralling galaxy.Kyuseisha no Hikari Hope this works as a quick start Kyu - let me know if anything needs changing

The signature of a Dark Mirror Senshi flickered on the edge of her radar--or, it must have, because she appeared on Arnica’s radar very shortly after he stepped out of a well-hidden mirror. It hadn’t taken him much thought to decide he was going to seek it out--especially after the last rendezvous they’d had in the mirror.
Not that anyone really seemed to know what was going on, ever, but he felt like maybe if they all had bits and pieces of information, they could try to piece it together.
Usually he loved these strange theories--conspiracies, urban legends, lore. It was a little different when he still didn’t understand Mirrorspace, or what he was supposed to be doing in there, but Remarque seemed to trust it, so Arnica…
Would do his best.
But that meant that he was going to seek out every Dark Mirror Senshi he could and try to figure things out. Thankfully, he recognized Sadalsuud, and raised a hand to wave when she came into view.
Although, she already had company, so he was careful not to chase away her friends as he approached. “Hey, you. How are you doing?”

Maybe it was the fact that it was a fellow chaos aura, one from a fellow court member (and thus unlikely to be a threat), well at least to her -for all that she was pretty much non-existent when it came to court things.
Maybe it was the fact that her attention was mostly elsewhere as she continued to stare at the pretty, pretty crystal in between feeding the stray cats from the (rapidly) dwindling bag of cat treats - or perhaps she had just become far too used to being alone on those few days when she powered up–
But whichever or whatever the result had had been same - the initial flare of aura aka that tell-tale sign that she was no longer alone in the area having gone unnoticed.
At least initially.
It was already pretty close - or at the least felt pretty close by the time that it had sunk in enough for Sadalsuud to notice it.
She had shifted the crystal so that it gently rested in her lap by the time that the other senshi was close enough to come into view and it was a bit of a surprise to find that the other was one that she recognised - and not just in vague passing.
Oh it wasn't in the way that she recognised Merkeb, Kiuchi, Mr Rem or Miss Acubens - nor was it in the way that a part of her (even now and after all this time) hoped that she would recognise Sinope if he ever came back from wherever he had disappeared to–
No it was more in the way that they had both survived Mirrorspace's recent attempt to squish them - well that and the pink on pink streaked hair was pretty distinctive for all that she didn't know the other's name.
Although it wasn't as if she'd given out her own name either.
She'd raised a gloved hand in answering wave, the other absently steadying the crystal as her lips tilted up in a smile that was small and slightly awkward.
Slightly awkward but not unfriendly.
"Hello," it came out slightly more awkwardly then Sadalsuud would have liked "I'm all right, thank you." But then she wasn't really used to socialising with her fellow court members.
"I'm glad that you made it out okay - that we all made it out" and she meant it - because despite everything they were still 'Court' - even if she wasn't much of a court senshi.

Arnica nodded and continued to approach, thinking that was invitation enough to continue conversation. “Same,” he answered. “I feel like that could have gone a lot of different ways, but it all worked out in the end. Even if it was a headache. I don’t think I got to properly introduce myself, or thank you. I don’t know what your magic did, but it felt...I don’t know. I can’t really explain it.”
He had approached slowly, at the very least with an intent not to scare away the cats Sadalsuud had been tending to. He extended a hand to her in introduction and said, “I’m Arnica, Senshi of Mandragora. I think I’ve seen you around? Only, it’s always been when something else was going on. Never a good time to just say ‘hi’. Glad I finally got to meet you on a calm night.”

"Ah you don't need to thank me" Sadalsuud said as she finally stood up from the bench, keeping her movement slow and careful so as not to disturb the cats, glancing awkwardly at the crystal in her hand for a moment before setting it down carefully on the bench.
She hesitated before admitting with a rueful smile "Truthfully I don't really know what my magic does either - other than look pretty" her smile brightened a little "But if it helped then that's good."
She reached out to take the offered hand "It's nice to meet you Arnica, I'm Sadalsuud, Senshi of Clover."
Her lips quirked up in a small self-conscious semi smile as she added, "Although I guess that's kind of obvious." Because the clovers scatteres across her overlay was kind of a giveaway.
"Sadalsuud's kind of a mouthful though - so you're welcome to use Sadal instead - that is if you want to."

Arnica gave her a good shake and a good smile. “Sadal sounds cute, it suits you. I don’t know enough about clovers to know what sort of magic they might give you. Mine’s easy, have some poison. But yours, I don’t know. It’s hard to place. I felt good, though. Kinda like I could do anything. Take on the world. I don’t know, maybe I just got lucky. Had a lot of adrenaline going through me.”
He glanced at the crystal she’d had and then asked, “You figure out what to do with that yet or are you just trying to figure it out first?”
He had one of his own but he hadn’t done anything with it either. It was a mystery, something new. Something to be researched and investigated. If he used it, he lost any chance of learning about its composition or what had made it, but…
He wanted to see what it did, too.

Sadalsuud's smile brightened further, because truthfully no one had ever said anything like that about her magic before - and even if it turned out to be luck rather than magic, it still felt nice that her magic could potentially have been of some use.
She shook her head at Arnica's question about the crystal "I don't have a clue" she admitted "But it looks really, really pretty - kind of like a galaxy but in glass."
Her smiled dimmed slightly as she admitted "But I don't really know that much about Court things."
And whilst the crystal was probably not quite an exact fit, it kind of fell under Mirrorspace which to Sadalsuud's way thinking meant that it fell under 'Court'.

Arnica nodded easily. “Oh, that’s fair. I wind up asking Remarque for more things that I care to admit, but. Either he knows and can tell me, or he doesn’t, and I don’t have to feel bad. Although,” he peered at her crystal again before he withdrew his own from subspace. “Sort of looks like some of the other crystals I’ve found in Mirrorspace.”
He watched the golden dust within his crystal swirl a bit and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
“You’re supposed to take those to whatever plot you’ve got in Mirroscape, but I haven’t exactly been on top of that recently. And I don’t really know what’s in here so it seems a little dangerous to be so ready to just unleash whatever power it’s got locked up in there. I mean, considering where we got it…I really don’t want another big wraith coming at me, and I don’t want to get lost in some weird pocket space in Mirrorspace, you know?”

Even when she had been more involved, Sadalsuud hadn't really known about Court stuff - although she had done her best to help out to the best of her self-admittedly inept ability. But back then Miss Kitty and Sinope had still been around and Sadalsuud had felt like she belonged–
Sadalsuud hadn't really felt like she belonged in a long, long while.
But whilst she'd felt a little awkward talking to Arnica, it hadn't felt bad - and it was kind of nice to know that she wasn't the only one that wasn't on top of Court stuff.
"I've only been to the Mirrorscape once" she admitted, "Back with all the stuff with Queen Altea." Although she wasn't sure how much Arnica knew about all that "So I don't really know anything about plots - but I've come across another crystal in the past."
She frowned slightly as she remembered back to when she'd still been a basic senshi and the strange crack that had been in the common room.
There hadn't been a giant wraith back then - at least not that Sadalsuud could remember–
But she could distinctly remember that Mirrorspace had cracked.

He nodded understandingly. “I think it’s something that Mirrorspace opens up when you’ve got enough power or something. If you ever want to go with me sometime, I’m pretty sure I can bring you. Not that I have much to show off or anything, but. If you want a sneak peak, I’m happy to give you a tour.”
He shrugged a little, clearly not alarmed or judgmental of her aversion to Mirrorspace. “A lot of weird things happen in there. I can’t really say that I like to go in at all, but it’s at least a little more tolerable when you’ve got someone to watch your back. Ugh,” he shuddered, either because it was cold or because Mirrorspace just made him feel a little gross.
“I don’t know how Remarque does it, I don’t like to be in there for long. Or to go too deep. It’s just creepy. But I can’t help but wonder what else is out there,” he sighed. “...Probably some great mysteries to solve. Probably a lot of danger, too, though. I keep telling myself I’m going to try and get stronger so I can face them but I’m not so good at moving in that direction. More power, more responsibility, and all that. Not sure if I should be trusted with more responsibilities.”

Sadalsuud considered it "I'm not sure if I have that much power" she admitted at last, because whilst it was true that she was a Super senshi, Sadalsuud didn't particularly consider herself a particularly powerful one "But I'd.."
Her voice trailed off for a brief moment and then her lips quirked up in another bright smile as she continued "But I'd like that."
And whilst Sadalsuud was a little surprised at herself she found that she truly meant it.
She hesitated again "That is if you really don't mind coming along with me - I mean I know that there are more impressive senshi in the Court - people who actually know what they're doing."
And Sadalsuud knew that she certainly wasn't one of them - she was just.. Just her.
If truth be told, Sadalsuud still wondered sometimes why the cat had decided to upgrade her senshi pen–
But the cat had been pretty insistent at the time.
Her lips quirked up in a sympathetic smile at Arnica's admission, the words somewhat echoing the thoughts that flickered across her mind.
"I get that" Sadalsuud admitted, her smile turning rueful as she admitted "I'm.. I'm not really that strong - not like some of the others in the Court."

“Well, we can’t all be strong,” he shrugged, but smiled anyway. “I don’t mind. I want to be strong enough to protect myself and the ones important to me. The idea of being any sort of leader, I don’t know. It just seems like a lot of work. I’m more comfortable just doing my own thing. I mean, I don’t want to let anyone down but I’m not looking to be in the spotlight, either. So let’s stick together.”
He felt comfortable around her, and he didn’t feel like he had to prove anything. They could just do whatever they wanted and have each other’s back and he’d have been happy.
“Being around people who know what they’re doing makes me feel like I’m not doing enough. I’d rather feel things out and figure out what I want to do. So yeah, I absolutely mean it. Come to Mirrorspace with me some time, let’s see what we can find.”

"I'm not much of a spotlight person myself" Sadalsuud admitted, because being in the spotlight was for much more impressive senshi - senshi that actually knew what they were doing.
Not... Not someone like her.
But Arnica didn't seem to mind that, didn't seem to mind how little she knew or that she wasn't brave or strong–
And he hadn't seem to mind that she didn't really know what her magic did either.
"I'd like that" she said again because truthfully she was kind of curious about Mirrorspace herself, adding with a small but sincere smile "Yes I'll come and explore Mirrorspace with you" and whilst Sadalsuud was a little surprised at herself because it was impulsive and would certainly mean powering up more than she done in a practically forever, she found that she meant it.
"I can be found here a lot these days" she gestured towards the cats that were starting to lose interest now that the supply of treats had dried up "And I guess there's also our compacts."
Even if it had been admittedly a while since Sadalsuud had actually used hers.

“There are always compacts, yes. But I prefer the old fashioned way,” he said, and reached into his subspace to pull out a rather nondescript white business card with basic black font. On it was a phone number and an email address. He pulled out a pen with it and scribbled a name, saying, “I’m Leander when I’m not Arnica. When you’ve got some free time, text or call or email and we can figure something out, okay? My schedule is pretty much free. I’m a photographer on the side, and I write articles for a few different places. Blogs, online journals,” he shrugged a bit dismissively.
“Usually I’m trying to uncover the weird things about Destiny City. I’m a bit of a party pooper, I tend to research to disprove local legends and rumors and the like. I’m always looking for those stories that don’t fall through, though. Might be why I’m so interested in Mirrorspace, I haven’t been able to disprove any of its weirdness. But, haven’t been able to look into it too much. I’m excited to have a partner.”

Sadalsuud took the offered business card and tucked it away in subspace to join the small amount of coins that she kept in there on the few occasions that she powered up.
"I'll send you a text" she promised - and she meant it - was planning to do it once she finally got back for the evening–
And then because it seemed only fair that Arnica know her unpowered name she added "And I'm Mi-Hi when I'm.. When I'm not like this" her lips quirked up in another smile "Future elementary school teacher."
She gave a small but amused laugh "But currently a part time job worker, student and feeder of stray cats" because she wasn't always powered up when she came to feed the cats.
"Your work sounds pretty neat" she added - because Arnica's not-Arnica's work did sound pretty cool, before giving a rueful sigh as she finally tucked the crystal back into subspace "But I guess I should be getting back."
Because it was getting late and she'd promised her parents that she would give them a call - well okay more Mi-Hi had promised but it was still the same difference and her papa tended to worry "But I really will text - I'm excited as well."xxxKyuseisha no Hikari seems like a nice place to leave this - fin on next tag?
