After the battle on the hill, Anming had stayed true to her insistence that she just needed to return to her apartment to rest, and had quite intended on following through with holing up and not powering up for a while. Of course, she ended up deviating from the original plan, and her initial thought had been to take the entire week off to just hang around her apartment, Anming only took a day and a half off, at the end of it all.
Maybe it was just guilt? After all, the perpetually nagging voice in the back of her head reminded her, if she didn’t want to power up, all she had to do was… not power up. What did she need an entire week for? Not only would it be disrespectful to her manager at her part-time cafe job, but... it wasn’t particularly as if Anming had many hobbies, save for baking and piano playing, mostly? She’d already cut back on her classes to only attend on the weekend, after all. While there was technically no one stopping her from hiding in her apartment all week long, and her manager technically was usually pretty understanding, there was a matter of groceries… and if there was anything she went through fast, it was baking supplies.
Anming didn’t know who Anser really was or where she lived, but she wanted to repay the kindness the other senshi had shown her the other day. A thank you note felt too informal in this case, and so Anming made the decision to bake cookies to show her appreciation. Feeling rather ambitious, Anming had decided she would try to make little goose-shaped cookies, because Anser had been the senshi of geese; little did she know, that was easier said than done.
Geese-shaped cookie cutters weren’t the easiest to find in any of the usual places Anming frequented. There was a set of assorted animal-shaped ones she could buy, but it didn’t look, well… ‘goose’ enough? This time of year would find her coming across dove or turkey cookie cutters more often than not, aside from generic bird shapes, and Anming wondered if she shouldn’t simply just bake cupcakes instead, and try to draw geese on them herself. Perhaps she had gotten in a little too over her head…
As a last-ditch effort, Anming had tried her luck with checking online, not just through the big name brands, but also for handmade cutters as well. Finally, she found what she was looking for, and more! The cookie cutters she found were technically made for fondant, but could be used for cookie dough as well; Anming would simply have to take a few extra steps to ensure the dough wouldn’t stick to the cutters too much. The website she found them on offered a few different goose-related things, including a mother goose cutter and silhouette stencils; Anming bought a few of the fondant cutters, including the mother goose one, and a couple of the smaller-sized stencils. Perhaps she could make some regular sugar cookies after all? She tried not to think too hard about the cost of shipping as she made her order; it would be worth it if she could properly show her gratitude to Anser.
Now all that was left to do was wait, and hope it arrived in a timely manner.
