Tama really needed to find a good cat around here. Since he’d been back, he’d found a knight (no good unless they were Erytheia), an agent ( always no good), a senshi (but with their starseed given to Chaos) and finally… one of those traitor Mauvians who’d serve Metallia (Ick!). Destiny City used to be practically Order cat headquarters back when he was here two years ago. Perhaps that had changed. Or, perhaps, he had just been unlucky. Tama was the kind of cat that liked to know things. And all he’d gathered was that there were aliens here now — Velencians, they called themselves. He was quite tired of it all, to be honest. Knowing things wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. The cat was finding himself missing the days he was in Japan with Yuri without these sorts of things to worry about when he caught the aura and scent of a Mauvian… ☆

Down a forgotten alley way, behind an old Radioshack that got very little business... a small grey butt was poking out of a pile of garbage left by the owners in preparation for pick up day. A long, slender, striped tail swayed lazily back and forth as its owner picked away at something inside the old cavity of a computer case. Scrabbling sounds accompanied her efforts, and the scrape of metal and plastic being shuffled about.
"Oh, you lovely thing... just come with me! I'll make you all better... make you all new and shiny and electric fizzle!" Came a muffled, hollow voice and the tail flicked in agitation. "Just gotta get that wire off... without splitting the mother board..."
There were more scrabbling sounds, some grumbling, more tail flicking, and then... POP. Whatever it was came free finally and the silver cat sat back hard on her haunches, something computer-y clasped delicately between her sharp little teeth. She sneezed, shaking her fine little head and jostling the purple visor that sat on her face. She looked entirely too pleased with herself, dropping the part into her forepaws and turning it over, giving it a close inspection and she spoke quietly to herself.

Tama turned his head sideways as he came into the alley way. Was that a voice coming from the rubbish bin? Why would a voice be coming from the human garbage? And why would a Mauvian voice be quite happy about it? Tama couldn’t stand uncleanliness, but as he approached the Mauvian with her tail sticking out from the heap, the cat found not garbage, per se, but discarded electronic parts. As the other cat came clean with a choice part in her mouth, Tama couldn’t help but comment. “Humans certainly do throw out a lot of tech these days. What prize do you have there?”☆

Starting, the grey cat looked up from her new acquisition and blinked large green eyes at the stranger from behind her visor. He certainly was a stranger... scanning her, admittedly spotty, memories turned up no hint of recognition. Glasses, grey fur, nubby little tail... nope, no one she knew. But!! He could talk! Which meant he was definitely another Mauvian and not just an alley cat come to chase her out of his territory.
"Its a processor!" She said brightly. "Nearly brand new, actually. I guess something catastrophic happened somewhere else in there, to get them to throw it all out, but this little baby is nearly pristine."
Ash crooned as she turned the piece over her pale paws, admiring it one last time before it tucking it away with a flick of her tail into that neat little subspace pocket she'd discovered she had. Quite a handy little thing to have, and pure luck that she'd had enough... muscle memory? to access it. She'd just... wanted something the other day, and pop! Out it had come, from wherever it had been.
"I'm Ash." She said as she rose, her tail arching like a question mark behind her. "I'm sorry if I'm trespassing on your territory, or... turf or whatever. I didn't mean to."

Tama watched as the other Mauvian handled the processor like some precious gem. He smiled as she crooned over it. It was a nice find. To his own eyes, there was nothing wrong with it at all. A perfectly good piece of tech some foolish human had wasted! Tama wasn’t the most tech-savvy of the cats, but he certainly could see the folly of trashing such a piece. The cat in front of him likely saw more than he did. “Quite a find!” Tama purred, the small nub of his tail wiggling. “I’m Tama. I can hardly be said to have a territory. I’ve just returned from abroad. I was afraid I was trespassing on yours. Do you come…” He gestured with a paw at the general area trying not to suggest the dumpster. “… here often?”☆

"Oh well that's good!" She chirped brightly, bouncing down off the pile. "I didn't want to get into an argument over who belongs where and who doesn't... how boring!"
She flicked her tail dismissively behind her, her sleek shoulders rolling in a shrug. The alley way dump looked like many others, holding little more interest than for what was left behind in them and the treasures they might conceal.
"Not particularly!" She answered, glancing back at the pile. "I don't really have certain places I frequent... I'm new here too actually. I woke up from a stasis pod a few months ago and I admit I'm still trying to find my paws, so to speak. This headset used to belong to someone else and its just chalk full of information! So much to learn! But I think I'm getting the general idea of it."
"What country did you come from?" Ash said, her gaze sharpening in interest. "I don't remember ever being outside of the city. That must of been terribly exciting!"

“I was in Japan for two years.” Tama replied, thinking. He’d spent two years abroad with Yuri during his studies. But he’d spent far more years in Destiny City, both places felt like home to him in their own ways. He, too, had come from a stasis pod, but it had taken him some time to awaken after that. “I too came from a stasis pod, but it’s been a few years since then. I am glad Mauvians who were put in stasis are still finding their way here. Did the headset come from your pod?”Tama had never seen a headset like it before and was intrigued that it belonged to someone before Ash had gotten it. ☆

"Oh, yes." She said as she sashayed towards him, her tail up behind her in a pleased and confident curl. "I suppose that's a little... odd, but I don't remember ever having it, and it has a bunch of information inside I don't remember, so I'm sure it wasn't mine. Whoever had it called herself the Silver Lady and she lived in DC for years! The headset has all her notes and everything she knew. Its been so useful... maybe she found me still asleep and left it for me to help me out? Who knows."
She shrugged, picking up her pace to reach the end of the alley and glance both ways down the sidewalk.
"I'm feeling a bit hungry actually... would you like to come with and get something to eat?" Ash called as she looked back over her shoulder. "I suppose unless you have better things to do, of course, and then don't let me keep you... but its rather nice to get to talk to another cat." She grinned, her head tilted.

“Fascinating!” He purred. The name seemed like one he should know, but he couldn’t place it. “I wonder just who this ‘Silver Lady’ was.”If someone had found Ash asleep and ha wanted to help her, that was a great blessing indeed! Mauvians were meant to be guides — they were supposed to know things — and a guide with a guide was quite something. “You can tell me all about it over food.” He said as he followed her down the alley. Tama never turned down food. ☆
