"The first incident was in Ching-Ching City. An extraordinary child was born who radiated light. After that reports of people with super powers popped up across the globe. No one knew what was causing these quirks. Before long the supernatural became the totally normal; our dreams a reality. The world became a superhuman society. With about 80% of the population possessing some uncanny ability, our streets looked like something out of comic books. As cities swirled with chaos and confusion a new profession dominated our collective consciousness - It was an age of heroes.
With the rise of superpowers came an explosive increase in criminal activity. While governments were stuck trying to figure out how to reform laws with quirks in mind, courageous people started preforming heroic acts to keep our cities safe; protecting us against villains who abused their powers for evil. With overwhelming support, Heroes found an official position as peacekeepers overseen by the government."
As time went on, schools all around the world started to specialize in preparing students to enter the job force as Heroes. One of the most well known schools in Japan, U.A, has started to see backlash from the public and the government over the attacks on their students. It started with a mass attack during one of the class days and escalated up to a larger attack and kidnapping over the summer. As time went on, certain students kept finding themselves thrust into danger over and over again. Half of the time it was their own fault.
Then what everyone feared came to pass - the number one hero for as long as anyone could remember had to step down from active hero duty. As his last public message as a hero, he told a certain someone that it was their turn. The public took this to mean that it was time for them all to step up to shoulder the burden he was forced to put down. Heroes all around Japan were pushed to work harder as were the schools. The Hero Public and Safety Commission of Japan even started implementing risky ventures using students as they tried to combat the rising crime and prepare for the future. Despite how much effort was put into training the next generation of heroes, Japan kept seeing one tragedy after another.
In an attempt to pull in fresh eyes and abilities, the Principal of U.A High School has invited heroes and student heroes to join in their program. More teachers were added to help teach the kids martial arts and an array of different skills they would need to be prepared for in the future. A handful of students were invited from around the world to join in with class 1A and 1B as they moved on to become 2A and 2B. The genius principal hoped that by blustering their numbers with new students and staff that they might gain an edge over the enemy.
Will it work? Or is society's future still as bleak as he feared?
As we're playing on Gaia, we will adhere to the general T.O.S of gaia. There is some gray room with violence given that a lot more is allowed at lower ratings now than ever before but anything too overtly against the rules needs to be curbed.

I would call this roleplay lazy lit. I expect your best attempt at grammar and around 2 - 3 paragraphs per post. Sometimes, most times, it could be more but 2 to 3 will work. I would like to see 1 post per character a week but if you have lets say 2 characters and can only post once that week that's okay too.

This is probably the most important rule to me - keep in touch with everyone using the discord. Sometimes roleplays seem like they've died but they can revive if everyone is at least keeping in contact ooc. This is because sometimes life hits us all with a hammer and we have to deal with it before coming back to play. I'm okay with that. Just please don't ghost.

We will be using U.A as our main setting. That means we'll be playing in a semi-futuristic setting in Japan. That means that even though we're writing in English (primarily), the characters would be speaking and reading most things in their surroundings in Japanese. Your original character can definitely be from elsewhere but they need to have a reason in their background to be proficient enough in Japanese to be abroad.

All character images should be done in an anime style. This means no realistic, cgi, or live actors.
All posts in the roleplay should have 1 image of the character in the post. If you don't want to get any fancier than that, you don't have to. But feel free if you'd like!

Everyone can play 2 characters to start with. I will only accept a certain amount of originals (ocs) just like I will only accept a certain amount of canons. I will also try to balance the sexes as I don't want it skewed too far one way or the other.
Currently only accepting alignments for Lawful good, Neutral good, Chaotic good, and Lawful Neutral. This is to help form unity within our starting cast. As the roleplay goes on I will accept more morality when the story allows for it.

No quirks duplicating main cast canons will be accepted (examples: super strength, fire and ice, explosions, gravity, etc) unless you're playing that canon.
When you submit your reserve, please make sure that you've detailed out the quirk you want for the character. Include what they can currently due and what you'd like for them to reach in the future. For Minors (those still attending U.A) keep in mind that you'll have more growth opportunity than the Adults but less techniques or overall power at the start.
You will need a 150x150 colored image of your character. Please quote me in the Recruiting thread with the reserve code. Make sure you read what's in the spoiler.

Use this site to create the border if you don't have other ways to do it. Please start with a 150 x 150 colored image of character. Use the border tool to add a 10 pixel wide white border. Then add a 5 pixel wide black border. Then add a 10 pixel white border. The total image size should be 200x200 once all the border work is done. Save your image (using your character's name in the file title) and reupload it to your hosting site of choice.
Please try to make the Name, Hero Name, and Age match up under the areas for aesthetic reasons. You can do this by adjusting the under scrolls between the Name and Hero name as well as the Hero Name and Age.

Please create a thread for your roleplay character. You can use 1 thread for the whole roleplay if you'd like but each character needs to be on a separate page.
You can code the profile however you'd like or you can use this format. If you choose to code it up yourself, please know that you need the following information: Image, name, age, hero name, quirk, current techniques or strengths of their quirk, their weaknesses and current limitations, their specific skills, and some sort of breakdown of their physical abilities. You will also need to include a full background for them.
Once you have the profile all done, please send it to me by quoting me in the Recruitment thread with the link. I will review it and if there are any questions, I will discuss the character with you over Discord. I will tell you once they are accepted and link their profile up to the front page.
