Hobbies:
Learning About Earth: While they weren't exactly thrilled to be on Earth at first, now that they're sort of stuck here they've taken it upon themselves to learn everything about Earth. Whether that's its, admittedly rather mundane, history, or how science works here, or even the constellations on this side of the universe, Neryn is all about it. It is not, they will remind you, about actually liking Earth. It's strictly about survival and business, no fun at all.
Gardening: In an attempt to manage their own stress levels while on Earth, and because someone on the Internet said it was good for stress, Neryn has taken up gardening, specifically for vegetables and shrubs. They have a few bonsai they've acquired and tend to them as they need, as well as a tiny indoor garden in their room in the community home for veggies. They find it pleasing, to say the least.
Virtues:
Decisive: Neryn always has some sort of idea of what to eat, wear, or do on any particular day. They're quick to make decisions and to stick to them, so if they've said they're having ramen for dinner, by Velenia they are having ramen. If they are going to train, they're going to train. There's never a lot of 'well what about this...' that goes on in Neryn's head... provided they don't think too hard...
Forthright: Neryn believes that its better to be upfront with others than secretretive. Secrets got them into this mess being stuck on Earth, after all, plus when you're working for the greater good of the group, why would you keep secrets? It only leads to pain and death, so really, it's better to not do so. That said, even before they came to Earth they were very upfront with how they thought of others or others' actions. It's less that Neryn is opinionated and more that they just don't see the point in hiding things from others.
Scientific Neryn is nothing if not scientific. They consume the world much like a researcher or scientist; with a lot of notes and hypotheses. It helps them to understand now the world works, especially on a world that is so wildly different than the one they're used to. This does lead to Neryn speaking in 'science speak' in most cases, and furiously taking down notes on their data pad at all times. The more they understand about the world, the more comfortable they feel. In theory.
Flaws:
Callous: Neryn is not always... great about other people's feelings or emotions. In fact, they see most of the whole 'emotion' thing as just a hinders to decision making and logical reasoning. So in general, they don't really care if their words hurt someone - beyond fellow Cadets they've formed a bond with - and are often called callous and rude. In Neryn's mind its not callous; you really do look hideous in that dress. It just is what it is, and Neryn is not going to keep those thoughts to themself just to protect your emotions.
Prejusticed: For Velenia, for Velencya. While Neryn does not look down on Earth, per say, they do view the Vanguard and the Velencians as 'better' than Earthlings. Humans are messy, aggressive, and actively destroy their planet as though they don't understand how special their world is. They're not a fan of Velencians who are very into the Earth life; why would you stoop to their level when they are more advanced, longer lived, and all over better than humans? They do not understand the fascination with Earth beyond that it's a nexus of powered individuals - their need to understand Earth is completely different. They also really dislike their human glamour and how humans try to fit them into a box, when Neryn is just... Neryn.
Deer In Headlights: Small things may be easy for Neryn to decide on, but in the heat of the moment when all hell has broken loose? They're stuck. They freeze up, especially if there's an issue of loyalty and Velenian pride, and Neryn finds themselves unable to do, well, anything. They sort of just stand there, never making a decision. This is a more... newly found tendency since the great battle with the generators, and Neryn is very, very displeased that it's even a thing.
