Ryan showed up at the place that Emmett had asked him to, only slightly late. He'd powered down about a block away, utilizing his extra bounce in that form to make it there faster after his earlier scuffle with Marialite. Ugh, he couldn't believe he had some kind of shounen anime rival with someone.

Inhaling deeply, he stopped near the entrance of the closed shop (of what kind, he wasn't sure), and peered around for Emmett. Meeting in weird spots like this was something he was already used to in powered form, and then again from Emmett. He liked hanging out in creepy places, which Ryan didn't get at all, but he was willing to accommodate. After all, Emmett had been doing more than enough to make up for being a total piece of s**t when they were kids and teens.

Emmett emerged from the alleyway as soon as he saw Ryan and gave him a bright grin. "Hey bro!" he greeted, "good to see you." He gave Ryan a bear hug, which was returned.

"Okay, who's this mystery man you want me to meet?" Ryan asked, wiggling his eyebrows and giving Emmett a light punch to the upper arm, "I still can't believe you're into men after all this time."

Emmett laughed sheepishly, rubbing where he was hit as if he'd been gravely wounded. "Yeah, well... I think our parents didn't help that anyway. But, y'know, this guy isn't who I'm... I mean, I wouldn't mind, but like, that's... There's complications."

He shook his head to clear it. "Anyway, he should be here in a minute... So lemme tell you, we're like, this secret society of superheros."

Ryan's eyebrows climbed and he grinned. Oh, how cute. Emmett was like him! He wondered if Emmett was a Senshi he already knew, or perhaps a Knight. He kept quiet on him already being one, though, just to see how Emmett would react. It would probably be hysterical to see his face when he realized he'd been beaten to the punch.

Emmett frowned a bit, pouting. "You don't believe me, huh? Well, my man'll be here soon. He'll be able to show you what I mean and make you one of us, y'know? It'll be so cool."

And still, Ryan suppressed a laugh. Oh, this would be so good when the mystery person showed up.

Ashanite had to admit, every aspect of Arsenolite's plan was sort of beautiful. Lure his younger brother into a meeting, introduce him to the Negaverse, and have him inducted, all with an edge of panache and flair that could only be achieved with magical intervention.

So he waited, for the perfect moment, and when it was right, he stepped out of the shadows behind Ryan with a broad, confident grin.

"Hello, there. You must be Emmett's brother. He's told me so much about you; it's lovely to finally get to meet you in person."

Emmett grinned back at Ashanite when he appeared. Oh, this was going to be so much fun.

Ryan, on the other hand, decided this wasn't going to be very much fun anymore, when he turned and recognized the outfit Ashanite wore. Coming up behind him had already creeped him out, but... Now his face drained of all color and he took half a step back, breath seizing in his throat.

Negaverse. My brother's an Agent and that's a General and oh God I'm so ********, I can't—I shouldn't reveal myself but I need to protect myself AHH—

"Monoceros Power, Make-Up!" he said with as much viciousness as he could muster up, pulling his pen out.

The white bodice stuck out starkly to Emmett, who was briefly stunned by this turn of events—this was not how this was supposed to happen, ******** he became Arsenolite in a second.

"How could you—" both brothers started to yell at each other, but then Monoceros cut himself off to scream a spell.

"Quill Burst!" ********, he was so low on spells. ********, ********, ******** hissed in pain when a few quills stuck in his body, but most bounced off when he twisted just the right way. He looked to check on Ashanite for a brief moment.

Quote:
Sailor Monoceros leaps up to the bad guy, getting close, before letting loose a burst of quills from his entire body. (Allies beware!) The Burst is less aim-controlled than the Flash, but more intense. These quills will likely puncture more deeply from being close up and attempts to remove the quills before disappearance will cause a sharp, hot pain where the quill is pinned, and a more dull ache in the surrounding area, making the muscles more sore. A user can choose to have this attack cause permanent damage or the injury will fade when the magic expires. This attack will last about 30 seconds and can be used twice per battle.

Well, well, well. The moment he saw Emmett's brother pull out a henshin pen, Ashanite realized that this was going to get very much more interesting. And this Senshi was smart, moving immediately to attack--but Ashanite had bene in enough battles and gotten enough sense of magic that it was practically instinctual to fling up his cape as a protective barrier and teleport a short ways away.

If he were a bit more inclined to care about fairness, he'd have felt bad, popping out of range to dodge the attack and then back in, directly behind the Senshi, to slide his hand in and grip his starseed.

"Don't do anything stupid," he said, and he sounded almost bored, "or my hand might slip. And bad luck for you, it won't kill you."

He pulled out his communicator, and it was an easy movement to select General-King Axinite. For all that he was technically assigned to Special Operations, his work had quite a bit of crossover, and he couldn't help but rather like the amiable General-King.

"General-King Axinite," Ashanite said, "this is Ashanite. Lieutenant Arsenolite and I require your assistance with a corruption."

He clicked off the communicator, and squeezed his hand around Monoceros's starseed.

"This will be much easier if you don't resist. I promise, it's not so bad."

Much easier was an understatement.

Axinite didn’t respond with the tablet, he just showed up. Immediately. Like he was sitting at his desk with his tablet open, just in case anyone had an emergency. Which, wasn’t untrue.

He looked a little more run down than usual, like a nap would have been very much in his favor, but he wasn’t slowing down. He bowed his head politely to Ashanite, to Arsenolite. He looked at Monoceros for a few seconds, with recognition.

He knew him. He remembered him from the battle.

He should have showed up smiling, should have showed up with kind words and gentle reassurances to ease him into the Negaverse. It took him a little longer to muster any of it, but he managed.

“It’s for the best,” he assured the Senshi. “Things aren’t going to go very well for the White Moon, soon. You’ll be safer with us.” He eyed Ashanite’s hand and asked, “Would you like to do this?”

He seemed like he must have already had a grip on his starseed; it wouldn’t have been much effort to just channel the energy into Ashanite and guide him through the corruption.

The hand on his starseed made him freeze up. s**t, s**t, s**t. He couldn't let his starseed be crushed. He wouldn't let that happen to himself nor to his world. At least if he was corrupted, he had a chance to come back, right? Kerberos would know. Kerberos always knew. But, God, would Monoceros even know to go to him? Probably not.

"No," Monoceros snarled at Ashanite, eyes darting wildly between the three of them. "I'll never go willingly."

Arsenolite reached out and took Monoceros's hand, giving him a pleading look. "Ryan. Please. Relax. I don't want to see you in pain," he said quietly.

"You should've thought of that before you took me here to corrupt me, Emmett," Monoceros retorted. "I can't believe I ever started trusting you again."

Arsenolite swallowed. "I just wanted to keep you safe. Don't hurt yourself over some stupid pride thing," he insisted, "I still love you. You won't be my brother anymore when we do this, but I'll still treat you like it."

"Yeah, because you were so good at that before," Monoceros said venomously.

Arsenolite's lips pursed. "I tried fixing it. Now shut up so we can fix you."

Monoceros's eyes closed briefly and he looked at Axinite. The one who was going to do this. The one who... who'd seen him help Faustite after he was blown up. Of course he was doing this, he must have thought Monoceros was sympathetic to the Negaverse, but no, he just hated letting people die. There was always a chance to save them.

"Please don't," he whispered, terrified. Maybe he could appeal to him.

Axinite was, as always, a reliable presence, and Ashanite gave him a nod in return. A slight frown ghosted across his face, though he quickly smoothed it away--it seemed worrisome that Axinite looked visibly run down.

Perhaps they could speak after this, not that it was necessarily Ashanite's business how the General-Sovereigns conducted themselves.

The Senshi was struggling, and Ashanite bit back a sigh. It was Arsenolite's job to try the reassurances--he was here to help with the corruption, and that was it. So he met Axinite's eyes, and nodded.

"I would be honored, sir," he said. He had performed corruptions before, on new recruits--Larimar, Leifite, Lapis Lazuli (unfortunately)--but he had never assisted a General-Sovereign in bringing someone over. It would be a unique experience, he suspected.

"Axinite is right, you know," Ashanite said. "And there's no shame in making the choice that ensures your survival. Which, I promise--this will."

But even if Monoceros kept struggling, Chaos would take him. Chaos always took what it wanted.

A sympathetic expression crossed Axinite’s features, though it was more for Arsenolite than it was for Monoceros. The more he fought, the less he would remember, so it was really his own undoing. It might make him easier to manage if he was a blank slate, at least.

He nodded to Ashanite and said, “You’ll feel the power trickle in. It’s the same as you would use to bring in a new recruit, just more. Let me know if something feels wrong, but it shouldn’t.”

He’d done this before, many times. He was certain this would be the same as all the others, even if he wasn’t at his best.

“Arsenolite, I appreciate your hard work. I know this can’t be easy on you, and the future may be a bit bumpy. But you’ll be okay. He’ll be okay.”

The senshi was familiar in his mind, in a foggy memory that he didn’t want to touch. The same memory that seemed to hover over him; even if Faustite had survived, if he’d been repaired, he’d been blown up right in front of him. Axinite could do little--could do nothing--to stop that. He was grateful there were others that responded, others that could fix Faustite.

Monoceros would be in better hands with the Negaverse, Negaverse sympathizer or not.

“Just breathe,” he told the Senshi, who may have made up his mind that he was going to fight this. “If you will not accept the inevitable, at least be kind to your body. We’ll take care of you. You’ll be safe with us. Do not blame your brother for this. We’re only helping. You’ll be free. You’ll be powerful. You’ll be on the right side, doing the right things. You’ll understand soon. Try to relax, I don’t want this to hurt you.”

It would, it always did. The pain was inevitable. But, Monoceros could spare himself the worst of it if he just complied.

Arsenolite nodded at Axinite, swallowing. He hoped Axinite was right. He had faith in his General-King, of course, but there was always that little voice of anxiety in the back of his mind. He wanted so much for Monoceros to be okay. Even if this wouldn't let him be Ryan anymore.

Even though it was clear that Monoceros didn't want anything to with Arsenolite right now, he squeezed his brother's hand gently.

"It'll be okay," he said softly.

Monoceros wanted to puke, but he was too afraid the motion would cause Ashanite to rip out his starseed or accidentally crush it. He wanted to live, damnit. He'd get out of this mess somehow if he just lived.

The Chaos began to flow and his breath caught for a moment before he started to scream. ********, this hurt. It hurt so bad. He didn't want it, weakly tried pushing it away, but it was overwhelming him too quickly. God, he wished Kerberos were here.

Kerberos. Kerberos? In his final moments, an impulsive thought seized him and he went with it.

"Kerberos!" he screamed, praying that an echo of some kind would let his new self hear it. A hint of some kind.

The darkness washed over him, and he blacked out.

The person who woke was disoriented, in aftershocks of pain, and had no idea who he was. Monoceros. Okay. A name wasn't much, but it was a bit more than he had a second ago. Why did he hurt so much?

"...Who's Kerberos?" Arsenolite tried to whisper to Ashanite.

Kerberos? That sounded important. Monoceros blinked hard. He didn't know anything about anything yet, but something told him to hold on to that name. And keep it quiet. He had no idea what for, nothing was coming up, except that this situation seemed a bit odd, and that name sounded dreadfully important.

"Wha..." he mumbled, voice hoarse for a reason he didn't know. He realized his eyes were closed again and he slowly opened them. "Where.... who...?"

Ashanite gave Axinite a calm nod. The flow of power was something he was more than used to, and he was focused on the task. There was little room for error; a starseed was a fragile thing, and they wanted a corrupted senshi, not a youma. But Axinite's power was like the rising tide--steady. Constant.

Inescapable.

Ashanite let the General-King's power flow through him and into Monoceros, and for the first time, he watched as white turned to black, as hair came undone and grew, as Order transformed to Chaos, under his own hand, and with the assistance of his own power.

When it was done, he carefully withdrew his hand, and went to steady the new Negaverse Senshi.

Arsenolite got a sharp glance, and a careful shake of the head. Not now. They would find the answer to that question later--the name felt familiar, and Ashanite suspected he might have seen it somewhere before--but the time to discuss wasn't in front of the newly wiped Senshi.

"It's alright," Ashanite said to their new recruit, voice gentle. "We've just brought you into the Negaverse. The transition can be a bit rough, and your memories might feel fragmented--but I promise, you'll find your place here soon enough."

Spinning a narrative for a new recruit was Ashanite's best and most valuable talent, as far as he was concerned. But the storytelling could start later. As covertly as he could manage, he looked to Axinite--wanted to make sure that the act of corruption hadn't taken more from him than he had to give, when he had already seemed so tired.

Throughout all of it, Axinite stayed rooted to his spot. He gave all he could to Ashanite, and when the General extracted his hand so too did Axinite relinquish his grip. He fell to the background when his role was done. He had a hidden talent in him; the overwhelming energy signature was the only thing that gave him away but he managed to take a single step backwards to give them space.

He had no doubt that they had a plan, and he was there for reassurance or support if they needed it. He caught Ashanite’s eye and nodded. His hands folded in front of him and he watched, taking in the scene before them.

Axinite was exhausted. This took more out of him than he was willing to admit; he was a little paler than usual, and it seemed like willpower might have had a heavy hand in keeping him steadied and upright.

He wasn’t going to leave until he was sure that everything was taken care of. With so many Chaos signatures there, he doubted that someone would try to attack–but if they did...

He’d be there to make sure they were safe.

Arsenolite winced internally at the look Ashanite shot him. Well, crap. He'd definitely flubbed that up.

"It's gonna be okay, Monoceros. We saved you. The White Moon group had you, but we took care of you. Like General Ashanite said, your memories might be a little shattered right now, but we saved your life from them. It'll be okay."

Monoceros nodded dazedly, focusing on Ashanite. General. Ashanite. Wow, that was hot. Ashanite was hot. He pulled at his collar a little bit, hoping some of his own heat would dissipate. Wow.

"You're gorgeous," he blurted, cringing at himself, but still plundering forward, "Like, whoa. The accent, the hair, the outfit, and a General? Tell me you're not taken." He glanced around and noticed the other hottie in the area, and still on a roll of some kind—

"Oh, wow, I think my heart might explode. What was happening to me that I woke up surrounded by clothed hot men, exactly? Certainly can't have been the best party."

Arsenolite pursed his lips to stop himself from laughing. Oh, geez. He was almost the same old Ryan. Except he'd never be Ryan anymore. He wondered what his new identity would be. Arsenolite shook his head, a chuckle slipping through. This was, at least, a very good sign.

Ashanite was not unused to being hit on, but it being some of the first words out of a new corrupt's mouth was...

.....Well, Victoria hadn't flirted with him immediately, so it was still sort of new.

"It's good to see you're adjusting well," Ashanite said, and he was proud of himself for keeping his voice even and steady. He carefully tilted Monoceros fully upright, and looked back over to Axinite. "Thank you, sir," he said. "I should be able to get Monoceros, Arsenolite, and myself back to Negaspace--if you have the time," though really, Ashanite meant if you have the energy, because it was all too clear to him that Axinite was standing primarily by willpower and naught else, "we can start helping out new recruit integrate. I can handle much of it myself, though--not exactly my first time--and simply bring you what's left in the morning, if you'd prefer."

As discreetly as he could, though, using the turn of his body to block it from Monoceros and Arsenolite's view, he produced an orb of energy and offered it to Axinite. No reason to draw too much attention to the exhaustion of one of their leaders, but Ashanite wasn't about to leave him exhausted.

Axinite’s eyes flashed in something that looked like alarm, like maybe it had only just registered how bad he must look if Ashanite was offering him energy. He held up a hand respectfully to decline, and forced a quick smile. It wasn’t particularly convincing, but it was determined enough that it was clear Axinite knew he needed to do something about his state.

He was still reeling from Monoceros’ introduction, and tried not to look flustered by the statements.

Axinite wanted to say that they could do it tonight. That he could be there for whatever part of this they needed, that he could do whatever they required. Instead, he pursed his lips together and looked at Ashanite with understanding. With acceptance.

“I think, meeting up again in the morning is a good plan. He’s in good hands with you, I know I can trust you with this. Save your energy, you might need it. But, thank you. I might be more useful when I’m a little rested. I’ll head home after this, but please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need something.”

Arsenolite grinned. This was awesome. He was going to take such good care of Monoceros now.

"Monoceros, everyone is gonna love you," he assured.

Monoceros... wasn't too sure about that, for some reason. After his initial dumbass statement, something in him felt... Strange. Broken. Whatever jovialness he'd had after he woke had faded, leaving something cold and numb in its place.

But he nodded anyway, to at least give the appearance of someone normal. He felt... blank.

Arsenolite clapped him on the shoulder and looked to Ashanite. "Bring us home, boss?"
