Monoceros hummed lightly to himself, retying his bun atop his head—the darned thing always started off so tight when he powered up, it was annoying. And painful. He reinserted the decorative quills and focused once more on patrolling. He felt lighter than he had in a while, despite the terrible fight just a week ago. The revelations they'd had afterward on the moon... They gave him a little bit of pep in his step. He felt better about... well, a lot. Despite everything. And he really quite wanted to visit his world now, but he was so busy working on the grants for his restaurant and all that, and then with his brother as his civilian self... Making up with him was taking considerable time and effort from him, and he found it kind of draining, but also heartening. He hadn't been anything but suspicious when Emmett first contacted him, but things had started turning out okay. And he loved that. Regardless of all that made him busy, though, he was hoping to get a chance to visit his world once the week was over. Then things would be calmer. He hoped things would stay calm on his patrol tonight, so he could make it to his visit with Emmett on time. Fall had arrived and now dusk was much earlier, and so hanging out after dark wasn't quite so strange. Of course, tonight just couldn't be easy in any fashion, as he sensed a nearby Negaverse Agent aura. He sighed deeply, then gathered himself together, checking to make sure his bun was firmly in place again, and rushed off to meet it. It was only a Captain, he was quite sure he could handle whatever they could throw at him as a Super.

It was a pretty good night, if you asked Marialite. She'd managed to find that the Negaverse had gotten Deneb in the end--which saved her a truly ridiculous amount of time and effort--and she looked absolutely beautiful as a Corrupted Senshi, which just made Marilaite more pleased with the whole outcome.
Everything had gone beautifully, that night on the hill, and the only blemish she could think of was that they hadn't gotten Monoceros. Which was a tragedy--she was sure he would look lovely in black.
And she could feel a Senshi nearby, so she went running to it to get involved---which was perfect.
"Monoceros!" Her voice was bright, cheerful, sunny. "How are you? Other than not corrupted, which is just tragic."

"Oh for ******** sake!" he exclaimed, rolling his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I get it, you want me on your creepy, murdery side. Blah blah blah. And I want you on the not creepy, not murdery side, but neither of us are getting what we want. I enjoy not doing murder, as well, so it's not really tragic for me to not be like you." He huffed, blowing some loose strands of hair from his face—come on, hadn't he literally just retied his stupid bun? How annoying. "I suppose you're looking for a fight, then, since you came running up to me, or what?" he asked, trying to sound bored to try and rile her up. She was always a little more fun that way. That probably made him sick and twisted in some way, and he tried not to think very hard about it. He was afraid if he did, somehow, that he'd corrupt, like so many did on that hill. It wasn't possible, but... Still.

"We're not the creepy, murdery side," Marialite rolled her eyes. "It's all about chaos and control, right? And the irony is that your side is way more chaotic than ours! Like, do you even have leaders? Do you have anyone calling any kind of shots? Because it didn't look like it, at that last big party on the hill." She flipped one of her knives up and caught it.
"And by the way? Just so we're real clear? I'll go back when Hell freezes over. I was a Page for years, and it ******** sucked."
Themiscyra had been the only thing worth a damn about any of that, and she'd lost her.
"Anyway, we don't have to fight, but if you want me to stab you just a little so you're more amenable to coming back with me to meet a General-Sovereign, that's totally on the table. I'm always good for stabbings."

"But that's the beauty of it. We don't need leaders like that," he said, raising his hand. "We still kick your asses on a regular basis, while y'all need people telling you what to do, how to think! We're a beautiful, thriving mass of individuality." He grinned. "As if I'd ever go over to your side. To paraphrase yourself, I'll become one of you when Hell freezes over. Quill Flash!"

"You kick our asses?" Marialite barked a laugh. "We took a dozen of you on that hill, a couple nights ago. I think by every metric, we won."
To say the least. The knowledge made Marialite feel smug and proud of herself, and proud of the Negaverse; they had fought, and won, and Order was just lucky to be alive. The way they always seemed to get lucky.
Shne was familiar with Monoceros's attacks by now, and with the pain and the sting of them, and instead of dodging, she charged right forward, letting them embed in her arm--but that gave her the opportunity to get in close and slash at his arm. She wasn't aiming to kill, just disable, so she could haul him in for corruption.
"Individuality makes you weak. Makes you lost. Makes you fall apart."

He tried to dodge, but misjudged the distance, and her knife slashed open a part of his arm. Hissing in pain, he gripped the wound with his other hand to stem the bleeding. "That's where you're wrong," he said, fully cognizant of how he sounded like a shounen anime protagonist, "We live and breathe and die free, and that's better than serving you and your ilk. You won't keep our people for long. They'll come around. And you lose people to us far more than we lose people to you." He smirked. "Quill Burst."

Marialite laughed. She laughed, and laughed, and kept laughing even as his quills sunk into her skin again, although she did bring up her arms to block her face, and it took a long, long moment for the hysterical laughter to stop.
"Free? Free? That's the hottest bullshit I've ever heard, Monoceros," she said, and giggles still spilled from her lips. She reached up and began to tear the quills out of her skin, heedless of the bleeding marks several of them left behind. "You're not free, you're disorganized. Confused. Lost. Freedom is ******** meaningless when all half of you do with it is ******** off to space and ignore Earthly concerns, or abandon your duty as Knights and Senshi to leave the damn country. Don't tell me you're free. You're <******** useless."
Her grin became poisonous. "There's a reason that Destiny City is the last shining bastion of your garbage, and that's because everywhere else, you've been stamped out. And we'll finish you here, too, soon enough. Your noble, beautiful resistance will fail. And Metallia. Will. Win."
And with that, she adjusted her grip on her knife, and threw it directly at him.

"Good luck with that," he started to say, too caught up in their taunting, when her knife sang through the air and cut him open again, the knife clattering to the ground. Well. s**t. "As long as there's a spark of hope," he whispered, clutching his fresh wound. "Good night, Marialite. Hey, maybe next time you'll be a General and you can really attempt to corrupt me." He flashed her a poisonous smile, kicking her knife further down the alley, and leapt up, mentally making the Mario jump sound as he fled to tend to his wounds. He had to hurry, so he could make it to his meeting with his brother. He had no idea what would come, then, with Emmett.
