Gismondine had a problem. Well. A lot of problems, really. But there was one that was really starting to bother him...and that was the fact that Xander never seemed to want to power up. He didn’t know how to help...didn’t know what to say to help but...well. It was starting to bum him out a little.
So when the Lieutenant had come across the green and black clad corrupt, he had gathered up all of his courage and social skills and made his way over.
“U-um! Hello! If you’re um...not too busy, would you mind talking with me a little? I-I have a few um...a few questions to ask about...what you like about being a corrupted senshi? Y-you see my boyfriend is one and um...he never comes out with me...and I was hoping maybe...if I knew what another corrupt liked...maybe I could...I could help him get back into it…”
Gismondine swallowed and then continued, even though he had surely crossed the line into oversharing. “You see...I was the um...the one who thought he’d be good...and I thought it would be safer with two of us out in the night but…”
He shrugged. “...Now I’m still just alone...and still getting into scrapes and...he’s still not with me.”

Mirzam blinked at the poor, confused little Lieutenant, and tilted her head to the side. Poor thing, he sounded so distressed, and while she wasn't exactly an altruistic person, it was still to her benefit to help out a fellow agent of the Negaverse. So she gave him a smile and a nod.
"What do you want to know?" She asked. "Anything specific, or do you just want to hear me talk?" She thought, for a moment. "I've got a bit of experience getting reluctant Corrupts to do things--my little brother used to really hate powering up, but he likes it a lot better now."
Not that she expected to be able to replicate the circumstances that had changed Cleeia's attitude, but some of it had been hard work and gumption, sure.
"I'm sorry you're alone, though. That must be rough, especially when you shouldn't be."

Gismondine gave a small smile but shook his head. “It..it’s okay! I’m used to it...and um...I haven’t died yet...there have been some um...some close calls but. Here I am...still alive!” He chewed his lip and thought about what he wanted to ask. Finally just shrugging.
“What...do you like best about it…? Do um...you have any favorite parts? Like...like with me...I...like the fact that...I’m a little bit faster and...sometimes it makes people leave me alone...ah...not all the time...but sometimes…”
Other times it made him an even greater target but...that went against all that he was trying to say...so he kept that information to himself.
“How...did you get him t-to like it? What did you say to him?”

"'Not dead yet' is an achievement," Mirzam acknowledged. She hadn't really been in any particularly pitched or dangerous fights herself, except for int he Rift, but she'd still come out of that mostly okay.
"I like the magic," Mirzam admitted. "It's...fun, and exhilarating, to have all that power at my fingertips." She wiggled her fingers, grinning broadly. "But truth be told, I mostly got my brother to start liking things by...making him do things? Which might be a little bit harder with a boyfriend."
Maybe not for her, but she doubted Gismondine was the type to try and wrap a pretty boy around his finger.
"Just...there's so much good you get by powering up. Magic. Speed. Strength. So it's all about learning to have fun with it, I think."

Learning to have fun with it…
Gismondine looked thoughtful and nodded. “That is a good way to look at it...I...I can’t see myself forcing him to do anything but...maybe if I were to try and...treat it like a game with him? With um...racing? And maybe sparing? Do you think that would get someone interested?”
It was more of an idea than he had before now...so perhaps he could at the very least just try it…
“Maybe...maybe I can get him to like the magic too...he...he’s someone who likes fun...but um.” Gismondine rubbed the back of his head, giving a nervous laugh and a small smile. “...If we sparred, it would help me too...I could...maybe try to use that angle...if you don’t think that would be too...manipulative…?”
He knew it would work. Knew Xander would want to help him...

Mirzam nodded, grinning at his suggestion.
"You'd know your boyfriend better than me, but that sounds like a great suggestion--like I said, hauling people placed works better when they're your bratty little brother than your, you know, romantic partner." She guessed. If things went right with Helena, of course, she wouldn't have to drag, but...again, she did not get the impression that Gismondine had the same sort of goals in his relationship as she had in hers.
Different strokes, and all.
"And truth be told, I mean--I don't think that's manipulative at all? It's not like you're lying to him or tricking him. Sparring really will help you, so it's the truth. And it's good for both of you for him to learn to like being powered up. You'll be better off if you've got someone watching your back, and he'll be better off getting to do things with all that spectacular magical power." There was amusement in her voice.
"And if you think those will work, you know him best. My brother needed to be shoved into situations--coaxing and pleading doesn't work on him, never has. But hauling him into shenanigans does. If you think that games, races, spars will help get your boyfriend used to his powers? That's what you should do. And if you--or he--needs any help, just hit me up, alright?" She paused.
"I'm Mirzam, by the by."

The lieutenant gave a little, nervous laugh and nodded, managing a small smile at the corrupt in return. “I hope that your brother is enjoying things more than he was...and doesn’t need to be shoved any longer...but...yeah! I can hit you up...I would love to meet up again...I...I enjoy meeting new friends.”
When she introduced herself, Gismondine felt his face heat up in shame and fumbled, giving a half bow. “Oh gosh...I am so sorry. I’m...I’m Lieutenant Gismondine! It’s very nice to meet you, Mirzam!”
The fact he had forgotten to even give his name…
Well. His mind was on other things, he supposed and...she didn’t seem upset by it. That was a good thing at least. “...Maybe someday, you’ll be able to meet my boyfriend! He’s…” A smile formed on the male’s face, clearly fond. “He’s so much better than I am...he’s good with people and confident...and he’s just...wonderful.”

"Oh, he definitely is," Mirzam said, "he just needed something to help him understand how much fun this could be."
It had been rewarding, to see Cleeia blossom.
"And it's nice to meet you, too, Gismondine." She laughed. "Your boyfriend sounds great; I hope I get to see you and your boyfriend again, and that he gets to understand how good it is to be magical. It's obvious you care about him a lot, too, and I think....that'll help."
She hoped so, at least.
"For now, be safe, yeah?" She gave a jaunty little wave, and turned to leave. "And feel free to call me if you ever need backup! I'm happy to show up and help ruin Order's collective day."
She did hope he was able to solve his problem. Poor thing seemed so distressed. She'd have to check in on him later.

Gismondine gave another smile, nodding and feeling somewhat lighter. This...this was going to be okay. He would find a way to bring Xander out more...and he would be safer for it...they would be stronger for it...and hopefully their relationship would too.
...Honestly...that was the most important piece for him.
But...they were meant to be...it would be okay.
