Tinaksite wasn’t quite sure what she was doing with herself any longer. She was tired all the time...and always so hungry.

Tonight she had taken five starseeds and had eaten them all, relishing the rush that each of them gave her, but now she felt…off. Like there was something inside of her that wanted to get out...like there was some potential that was just out of reach.

The Captain recalled something about Laven mentioning the Sovereigns, and for once...maybe that was a good idea. Maybe she could get a promotion. Maybe she could feel like she belonged.

Doubtful...but maybe.

She had met with Axinite on the occasion of Sakuralite’s corruption and it was to his office that she teleported, knocking on the door before stumbling inside, rubbing the bridge of her nose. “I wish. I wish to be stronger. I am tired of not being all that I can be...I wish to be stronger.”

Her eyes were blazing, yet a little unfocused, and Tina’s head was spinning just slightly, but she looked at the General King with determination, adding as an afterthought.

“...Please.”

Axinite was at his desk, rifling through what seemed to be some very old paperwork when Tinaksite came in. He was immediately on edge, worried that she might have been hurt or something. She didn’t seem like she was all there and, stumbling inside, he expected the worst.

Quickly, he rose from his desk.

He moved from behind it and reached out to rest his hand on her shoulder, as if to steady her. His eyes were on hers and he tried to judge her health. Had she lost a fight, was she just coming out of some Senshi magic?

“Tinaksite,” he tried to reassure. “Just breathe for a moment, are you all right? --I was going to see if you were free later this week to discuss a promotion, actually, is that what you had in mind? You look a little dizzy, do you need to sit down? I can get you a drink, something to eat? We can talk. Or, if you think you’re ready for more power, more responsibility, I’m ready to set you up with that.”

“I am not all right! I am frustrated! I am lonely! I want to be worth something! I want to have my indigestion reciprocated! I am tired of being this way! I am just tired I…”

Tinaksite let out a sob that turned into a hiccup and looked up at Axinite with some confusion, his words finally sinking in just slightly. “...You were going to discuss a promotion? I want it. I want to see that I am worthy of something. I was not a good...not a good lieutenant. I was confused. I am always confused but I have learned. I want to be someone. I just...General King Axinite...I just want.”

Her chest was hurting. Burning. She needed. It might have transcended from a want.

“If I am stronger...maybe I will have a chance.”

It was obvious that Axinite understood that there was something he was missing, and he watched Tinaksite with something like a guarded expression. Like, he knew something beyond just this was wrong, but he couldn’t place it.

The seconds ticked on, and he could find no reason not to--so she was emotional. So she was passionate. Was that a crime? She had a good record, she was already on his mind for a promotion.

“All right,” he reassured, and stood before her. “I can do a promotion for you tonight, it’s all right. You are worthy. I can see that you’ve improved, you’ve been working hard. I know you know what this entails, but it isn’t easy. Just bear with me for a moment, I’ll do this as quickly as I can. I’ll get you something to drink and some snacks, you can rest here for a bit and we can talk.”

He gave her a few seconds to refuse, but given her emotional state he hoped he could give her something to ground herself with. “Just hold on, this will only take a moment,” he said, and slid his hand into her chest. The starseed was easy to find, but he kept looking at her, worried that she wasn’t doing well. Worried that something else was wrong.

...But, if a promotion would reassure her enough to get her to talk, he could do that for her.

He pushed the Chaos in, gently, steadily. As quickly as possible without making it hurt any worse.

The words were soothing, and Tinaksite swallowed, wishing that it was Laven saying that she was worthy. Wishing that this. Whatever. She was going to be a General. She was going to be like her Pirate had been when she was recruited…but she wouldn't let people end up so ignorant…

…Maybe.

When she felt the hand slip into her chest, when she felt the pain of the chaos beginning to pour in, she winced, but cried out as there was a loud crack...that obviously shouldn’t have happened.

For a moment, Tinaksite was too stunned to do anything, but pain radiated from her chest, through her whole body, searing and white hot. She was growing stronger, but she was…growing other things too. Two curled horns protruded from her head, her nails grew into claws. A pair of delicate wings ripped from her back, unfurling like a butterfly, her upper canines grew sharp, as though she had become a vampire.

…But. Tinaksite was a General…she was just no longer…human.

She swayed in place, confused, dazed. Hurting all over.

Oh. Oh, no.

He’d done something wrong, this was wrong.

When he’d promoted Lavendulan, he didn’t know it was going to hurt her that much. He hadn’t known that her power would transform her painfully, more so than any ordinary promotion.

But, at least he’d met her while she was a half-youma. Tinaksite had been human when she came into his office.

He could feel the trickle of panic that was gradually settling in. He’d messed up. He was cold and dizzy, for the first time in a long time; this hadn’t taken anything more out of him, but he’d messed up. Messed her up.

“Tinaksite,” he said, and he had to force his voice to even out. He put one hand on her shoulder and offered a hand to help stabilize her. “Sit down. It’s all right.”

He hoped. He didn’t know how to fix this, so maybe it wouldn’t ever be all right.

She did sit down, rubbing her forehead with her palm and finally the room stopped spinning enough so that Tinaksite could look at Axinite, her face contorted into a frown. “I apologize for…worrying you…”

The newly minted half youma looked at her hands and blinked in some confusion as she took in the claws that adorned them,

“...is this…due to all of the starseeds do you think? Wolf said I should not eat so many…I…”

She swallowed, tongue running along her new fangs. She was different now…she could feel it but…

“Thank you, General King Axinite…I will…be worthy of this gift. I promise you.” Tinaksite drew in a breath and then gave a small incline of her head before she teleported out of is office. There was no reason to continue to cause this man such distress…she was fine. This was fine…and this would be fine.

It was what Laven and Wolf both dealt with on a daily basis so…she could do the same. Easily enough.

Hopefully.
