Hobbies:
- Painting -- He picked up the hobby from his late mother, and found that he's incredibly good at it. It's as though he breathes life into his painting and artwork, so his art teachers have said. However, his father pointedly does not approve of it and Ren can only paint when his father is out of the house.
Star Wars -- He's seen every movie, read every book, seen both animated series to completion, and will show you his Tie-Fighter collection if you ask. Ren fell into Star Wars with the prequel movies in elementary school, then quickly had to watch the original trilogy. He owns just about every Extended Universe novel on the market, as well as several comic books. He has his own head-canons about the new trilogy, and will talk your ear off about different modern view points on the series and Jedi Code if you give him the chance.
Pros:
- Keep calm, and carry on Level Headed -- In touch and go situations, or chaotic circumstances, Ren keeps a rather level head about things. The class project is due in twelve hours and nothing's been done? Ren will be the one keeping the group intact and deciding what's getting done when. Once his father's car was hit by a four-by-four truck, and while his dad was ranting and raving, Ren calmly got all the information and made sure everyone is okay. He does his best to contain his emotions during situations, meditating on them at a later date when time permits.
I'll be anything you need me to be~ Fluid -- He adapts himself to who others want him to be. A lover, a fighter, delicate or hardcore, he's been a varied number of 'personas' over his short lifetime, and easily melds himself for the occasion. Years of living with his father has led him to gauge a situation and then adapt to it on the fly. Not always for the better, though.
Cons:
- Stars call you home Wanderlust -- You'll never find him in the same place twice. His father sent him to the Edgemont thinking it would keep him in one place, but even then he found ways outside. Ren often gets restless, and when forced to stay in one place, he fidgets and acts like a caged bird. It's not so much a desire for adventure; Ren simply cannot help but wander and get lost in starlight. Some of it has to do with his lack of a self identity. Given that Ren does not really know who he is, or who he wants to be, he neither knows where he belongs. As part of his training, he's been trying to be more self disciplined about the wandering, to little success.
Who am I... really? Persona Unknown-- He's spent so many years changing himself for others, he has no idea who he actually is. He's unsure what he actually likes, who he likes, how he acts, or what he wants in life. At times, he often gets confused as to which persona he's taken on for a given person or encounter, and can seem disjointed and lost. As a result, he keeps a small moleskin book on his person to keep tabs on who he "is" at any present moment. Painting helps immensely when he's disjointed and disassociating.
General Appearance
Ren is roughly 5'6", slim of build, and very pale. He's of European-Japanese decent, with smaller sized marroon eyes, and violet hair on his hair that's styled to be short in the back but with two chucks hanging to his shoulders in the front. He generally wears a mix of kpop idol fashion - ie, things that are larger or baggier than his frame with a million belts or straps - and more western style of clothing. It seems like he can't really decide how he'd like to present most days.
