Citlali was walking home after finishing a night of baby sitting although she had been offered a ride she had refused choosing to walk home on her own. Despite her young age she was very tall which meant most people wouldn't try to mess with her so she wasn't at all concerned about walking home alone through the back alleyways of Destiny City. She had of course heard the rumor's, strange magical people and monsters prowling the night but she wasn't concerned after all that all had to just be superstitious nonsense.
Or at least that what she would have thought had she not been starring at one such monster right now, a dog-sized, quadrupedal creature with pointed wet fur and a snarling mouth and monkey like hands where its paws should be. She was shocked to such an unnatural creature stalking the alleyway. But then she noticed another person, some fancy looking blonde man with his back turned to the creature. Oh no She thought as she acted fast grabbing a discarded metal pipe from a trash pile and rushing the creature.
She swung for the fences cracking it's skull with a smash from the pipe that sent the creature. "Hey mister fancy man you need to get out of here now!" She warned as she hoped the creature whatever it was didn't get back up.

Had Remarque known a youma was following him? Yes.
Had he cared? Not really.
He hated youma, but this stupid little thing hadn’t been doing anything, just following him. He’d planned on dusting it before he went home, but given that he hadn’t seen anyone else so far tonight, he didn’t mind the company.
...If it could be called that.
Of course, the girl rushing out to attack it was, perhaps, slightly more interesting.
He didn’t make any effort to leave when she attacked it; instead, he turned, seemed exasperated. The youma was twitching on the ground, so he summoned his basic magic; strings descended on it, wrapping around its joints, tugging.
Maybe it was just taking time to dust, maybe his magic just pushed it over the edge; after a few seconds it was just gone.
“Really good thing that wasn’t my dog or something, do you just attack every little monster you see?”

Citlali watched a little freaked out as the creature struggled back to it's feet. Then she watched as the man very causally and with basically no effort summoned some sort of magical strings to wrap around the creature tightening until they popped turning the monster to dust. She was shocked. She definitely didn't expect to see all of this tonight, a monster and magic, this man had definitely just used some kind of magic. "I....um....hmm..."She sputtered for words as she lowered her pipe.
Then he spoke to her. "Um that'd have to be a pretty freaky dog I mean did you see it." She said in disbelief at how casual he was about all of this. Just who was this fancy man. "That's my first time seeing a monster so it's hard for me to say." She said sort of shrugging and throwing the pipe into a pile of trash.
"What was that? You seem like you know?" She wanted some answers just what. "And what did you do it? What are YOU?" He was clearly not a normal man, if he could do whatever he had done to that monster.

Remarque raised a brow, curiously more so than judgmentally. “Lotta questions,” he noted, but he couldn’t really blame her. He couldn’t remember how many he’d asked when he first awakened.
Of course, he knew not to tell a civilian more than they needed to know; the last thing he wanted was for her to run off and start blabbing online or something.
He gestured for her to follow him and began walking without really waiting to see if she would. She was curious; if she wanted answers, he didn’t think she’d have a problem working to get them.
So, he started to explain a bit as he walked a little further on. There was a mirror down the alley and things were always a little easier to explain in Mirrorspace. And, if the Mirror chose her, that made this so much easier.
“Come on, it’s easier to show you than talk it all out. Seeing is believing, and all. Although, I suspect you’re already aware that something’s wrong. Monsters, and all. You were pretty brave, taking that thing on all by yourself. Especially given that it was the first one you’ve seen? I’m a little impressed.”
The mirror was tall, big enough for him to fit through easily, and he couldn’t help but brush his sleeve across it to dust it off a bit.

"Who wouldn't have alotta questions!?" She was honestly shocked how he could be so nonchalant about the creature. Just what was this guy that killing a monster was nothing to him. She was a little weary about following a strange guy with magical powers but at the same time she was very curious just what was going on.
"Alright. But can I at least know your name?" She asked as she walked with him. "I'm Citlali but my friends just call me Citi." She offered. She blushed as he called her brave. "I don't think it was that brave, I mean anyone would do that same if they were in my position, right?" He had lead her to a full length mirror for some reason.
"A mirror?"

He glanced over his shoulder and raised a brow at her. “You don’t think running at a monster, trying to protect a complete stranger is brave? Most people would do the smart thing and run.”
He’d been around enough people to know that bravery was often overshadowed by self-preservation.
“I’m Remarque,” he said, and kept titles out of it. He didn’t need to give her his full title until he’d determined it was worth wasting her time; there wasn’t really much of a point if she was just going to get drained and dropped off.
“Give me your hand,” he said, and held out his own. “If you want answers, I’ll give you all of them. But you’re going to have to trust me, first.”

She shrugged as she blushed "I don't know, I guess." She didn't really have an answer beyond that she was bigger and stronger than most people so wasn't it the right thing to do to help someone who appeared to be in danger. Of course this guy turned out to not be in danger at all so she supposed it had been kind of pointless this time.
"Nice to meet you Remarque." She couldn't quite place the name. It sounded pretty unique to her, German maybe? It would fit his blond hair blue eyes. He asked for her hand which she found kind of weird but she figured in for a penny in for a pound. She took his offered hand.
"Ok so what happens next?"

“I’ll show you.”
He stepped towards the mirror and for a split second it looked like he was going to walk right into it. Except, just when he should have crashed into the glass, he passed through it--and pulled her with him.
The sensation was strange at first; it was cool, and felt like passing through water. When she stepped out of the other side with him she was still dry, and Mirrorspace stayed cool but it wasn’t unpleasant. At least, Remarque didn’t think so. He released her hand only after he’d taken her a few steps into the Common Room.
White walls surrounded them, and wisps of smoke clung to the distant ceiling. Mirrors lined the walls, but there were really only two things of greater interest--the full size Golden Mirror, and the enormous doors Remarque was walking towards.
He expected her to follow him but he understand this was new, and different. He gave her a few seconds to take it in before he nodded towards the Throne Room just past the open doors.
“I want you to come with me, in here. You’ve got a spark in you, I think. I can’t help but wonder if you’re special. Like me. So I want to take you over here and find out. It’s easy. Just involves a quick look in the mirror.”

She felt very strange almost like she dived into a pool of water but she was completely dry. It was cold but not unbearably so. Even more strange was the amount of mirrors in this room, it seemed a bit excessive in her opinion. What is with this guy's obsession's with mirrors? She thought to herself as he made his way past an admittedly impressive golden full sized mirror and enormous doors.
There was what kind of looked like a throne room beyond the doors as she followed Remarque. Her eyes fell on the pale crystal set in a pedestal near the throne and then on the black mirror near it. "What spark? Special like you? I always I've always been really tall but I've never been able to magic." She was confused by what he was saying, she could be like him. It didn't make any sense but still if all he wanted was for her to look into the mirror she supposed that couldn't hurt, so with a sigh and an "ok" She walked over to the mirror and stared into it.
In a moment she was again in a new space through another mirror. This time she was in a dark void. It was honestly pretty scary being surrounded by nothing as she looked around for anything in the dark space she saw a white light. She tried to make her way to that light hoping it might lead her back. As she moved she heard whispers in her head repeating "Quetzálcoatl" and "Cataclysms" it was honestly hard to understand what it all meant. Eventually she reached the light and went back through it.
As soon as she returned she knew something was different, she was different she felt stronger. She had changed.
"What was that? What happened?"

Remarque folded his arms over his chest while he waited; Mirrorspace always felt strangely lonely, and had the unique sensation of filling both empty and crowded all at once. Sometimes, he could see movement in the windows. Sometimes, he thought he could hear whispers.
He was too prideful to admit that maybe he was just excited to see what the outcome of this was; the mirror didn’t usually accept people who weren’t worthy.
He tapped his fingers on his arms while he waited, impatient and eager and–
She came through the mirror, different.
Powerful.
Worthy.
“The mirror chose you,” he answered simply. “Picked you out, special, and decided you deserved to be more. Gave you a name, gave you power. So,” he took in her new appearance. “Welcome to the Dark Mirror Court.”

"Sailor Quetzálcoatl, senshi of Cataclysms." She repeated what she had heard. "I think that's my name. what does that mean? What is that mirror?" It was all insane, there was so much to take in. She felt a new sense in the back of her mind, some unexplainable feeling of the powers around her especially from the man who had lead her here. He felt strong, not just because of the magic he had displayed but she could tell from intangible aura that he was leagues more powerful than her new self.
"Remarque who are you and what is the Dark Mirror Court." She understood the mirror part well enough after all he had taken her through multiple mirrors at this point. "What does it mean, I'm a part of it?" She had been supposed to just go out to babysit tonight but now here she was in a magical mirror world being welcomed into some magical court and she had been granted powers and named after an ancient deity.
"What happens now?!" She was though all the confusion and slight terror at this new world, excited. What could the future hold for her now, what would these powers allow her to do.

“Relax,” Remarque insisted, “It’s okay. It means the mirror’s chosen you and gifted you powers to fight with. It means you’ve got the strength to protect the people you care about. It means you’ve got a group of people who are going to support you, and hopefully it means we can count on you when we need your help. You don’t have to jump into anything, we’ll take some time to settle in. I’m not going to send you out into this without making sure you know what you’re signed up for.”
He seemed pretty easy-going about all of this, like he’d done it plenty of times before. He was confident in this, confident in her.
“The Dark Mirror Court just wants to protect what we can, and build a safe place in case the rest of the world goes to s**t. We’re a team. Come on, I’ll fill you in on everything. I’ll teach you how to power down, we’ll go grab a bite and talk about everything. If you want, we can meet up again and practice your magic. I’ll show you what we can do.”

"The strength to protect the people I care about." She looked at her hands she could feel magic coursing through them. "I like the sound of that." She grinned brightly at the man. "I'd like that I want to learn all there is to know about this, it scary but also really exciting!"
She wanted to get strong like him strong enough to help whatever fight he was talking about and strong enough to protect her family and friends if she ever needed to. "Lead on Remarque!"
