For someone who prided himself on being aware of his surroundings, Cypher felt both surprised and ashamed by how easily the Senshi had approached him with his noticing. Chalked it up to feeling exhausted these last several days.

Since their arrival he had been up late reviewing the reports that had been submitted by the other Cadets, adding a few of his own. But ultimately, what it came down to, this was not his home. Earth was not Velencya. Everything from the atmosphere, to the biospheres, to the cityscapes and how buildings were manufactured and constructed, down to the molecular structure of all things organic as well as man-made.

It was a lot to take in, to process, to try and understand.

He’d tried twice to find a senshi to speak with, but ultimately had either inadvertently tracked down a chaos and had to turn back, or ended up wandering around for hours yielding nothing new to report on. Felt like despite his best efforts, he was slacking. Other Cadets didn’t seem to be sharing in his current predicament which made him wonder if he was simply just not looking in the right places.

That vein of thought, however, sent his mind reeling when the last place he’d thought to find one was the last place he’d have expected. Here, at the landing site. Once the initial meeting had concluded, Cypher hadn’t noticed anyone wandering around the barrier.

He looked down at her petite form, taking in her bright orange hair and white uniform with sky-blue and seafoam accents. “Sailor Albiero,” he spoke her name slowly, enunciating each syllable to make sure he pronounced it correctly. Bent an arm and offered a bow as he’d seen some men do in those movie clips when speaking with a lady. “My name is Cypher. It is a-” paused to think of the word or phrase. “A pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

Cypher reluctantly accepted the treat with a tentative nod.

“Thank you,” Deep red eyes inspected the treat thoroughly, turning it over by the wooden handle that had been stabbed into it before bringing it up to his nose to sniff at the tacky sugar coating. The color didn’t look very appetizing but the aroma it gave off smelled interesting.

Rather than asking exactly how he was supposed to eat this offer of food, he leveled his gaze with Albireo and addressed her question first. “Fae Fae is one of my compatriots. However, we have not had a chance to speak since our arrival. I’m unsure what she is doing at this moment, but if she had agreed to meet you here, then I am certain she will be here shortly.” A bit wordy of an explanation but at least he presented her with what facts he knew.

“Should I perhaps wait for her to join us so she can enjoy this-,” he paused a moment before remembering what the Senshi had called it. “These candy apples you had brought?” Honestly, he didn’t mind and it would give him an excuse to observe how they were supposed to eat these treats without making a mess or feeling like a fool for asking despite knowing that it would be a forgivable inquiry given the fact that he was new to this world.

Watching her motions carefully, Cypher removed the wrapping from around his apple as she had done. However, rather than biting into it immediately, he sniffed at it, noting the sweet sugary scent that would tempt many young Velencians into taking a bite. He, however, was more cautious and abstained from biting into it so readily when the senshi began asking him questions.

“Earth is- different from what I am accustomed to.” Cypher tried to pick his words carefully so as to not sound so abrasive. “I do not know what I was expecting, “ but from what limited knowledge they had prior to arrival it was hard to anticipate anything beyond what they were greeted with at the landing site. “Your world, Earth as you call it, is an enigma to me and I’m sure it will take more than my lifetime to solve its mysteries.”

“You say that this is a magical time of year. Why is that?” Beyond having so many powered individuals awakening on a single planet, what made this time so unique?

Certainly, there were things he wished to ask more on, things that Lindyn had instructed him to inquire about, personal things that he suspected Fae Fae had already asked of the Senshi before him. Still, it didn’t hurt to ask redundant questions, could allow them to parse any discrepancies there might be in the information received.

“Until a few weeks ago I had never met a senshi. I’d like to learn more about you, or those like you if you’d feel more comfortable keeping the topic more general.” Let her lead the conversation and if something she says piqued his interred he’d delve further into it. Conversation wasn’t his strong suit but for now, he wanted to avoid overwhelming her with a checklist of key points lest he gets scolded by one of his fellow Cadets for being too abrasive.

“I appreciate your offer, however, Fae Fae should be out soon and I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to intrude on your plans.” It’s likely that his comrade would have questions of her own and per his personality demanded he sit in silence while her curiosities were quenched before voicing any of his own.

“Thank you for the apple.” Although he had yet to take a bite, Cypher was still grateful for the gesture. Perhaps we can chat more some other time.” Cypher offered in exchange before offering a small bow. “I will retrieve Fae Fae for you so you two can enjoy your evening.” He turned and retreated back inside to retrieve the other Cadet.
