It had rained on Earth a few times since they had first arrived, but Andreiya was no more used to it than the first time he’d seen it.
It didn't rain on Velencya. It didn’t do a lot of things on Velencya.
It wasn’t thundering today, so he felt brave enough to stand inside the dome, right at the edge, and peer out to watch the grey skies shed their excess rain. He didn’t know if he liked the smell, or the wetness in the air. Nobody had died in the rain--he thought--so he tried to take it all in, absorb the experience.
He was chewing on his lower lip, occasionally sticking his head out and then popping it back in with a little noise of surprise when the cold water hit him on the face.
It might have been a ridiculous sight to anyone who saw him; he had an umbrella in his hand but couldn’t seem to bring himself to go outside with it.
...Even if he’d already been standing there for fifteen minutes.

Rain was a new thing, something he'd asked one of the visiting senshi about. He'd been very interested in it and had taken a walk in it, it felt nice against his skin - cooling. He'd gotten scolded, by a senshi, for being out i nthe rain as he might become ill from the chill he would get. He didn't understand how water falling, and leaving you wet, would led to a person becoming sick. But hearing it raining, again, he headed out of his little bit of personal space.
Spotting a most interesting sight Silvera went to join his fellow alien. "The rain is nice, I have come to like the smell...and how it changes the apprearence of things." He spoke up softly. He had really come to like the rain but the thunder and lightening still shocked him each time but he found them fascinating - especially lightening. He'd stayed up two nights back in order to watch the sky light up as lightening danced across the sky and lit it up.
"I wish we could have this back home...." He also would like to stay here longer, so he could enjoy the fruits and vegitables here and nature. It was amazing.

Andreiya’s nose wrinkled as if he wanted to be perceived as being bothered by the company, but he was a bit too eager to talk about it for that to be a realistic assumption. He tended to feel awkward in company and he wasn’t very convincing in insisting he didn’t want it.
He hummed thoughtfully, turning his attention away from the rain for just a second as he leaned on the umbrella. “It is so wet,” he griped. “How can anyone go out in this? All of my plans for the day are ruined, if I go out I will become soaked.”
It might have sounded fun if he hadn’t been concerned with how cold it seemed to be.
“Water is so interesting, though. This planet has so much of it that the world takes it and gives it back. It seems so wasteful, I feel like I should be out collecting it. Earth has no idea how lucky it is to have so much.”

"No, I was told they have clothing which keeps them dry. I've not worn any but I did hear it keeps the humans here dry...it goes over what they are wearing and tthe rain rolls off it." He stated slowly, thinking about what little he'd heard about this planet. There wasn't a lot but he had found out about such clothing.
"I agree...but much of it is salt water which is seems humans cannot drink. Too salty." Which meant there needed to be a way to turn it into fresh water, without salt. And while that could be done, easily, it meant less salt water. "They have to have a balance it seems. They are lucky though. I wish we had even alittle of it for our own home. It would be nice, wouldn't it? If it could rain back home or even to have water...an ocean...a lake. Anything he'd heard about."

“Where are they hiding the salt water? I have only found non-salt water. I am not sure there is anything to miss, though. It is better to have it here instead of Veencya. Salt would corrode too much.”
But normal water? Fresh, clean, water?
Oh, he couldn’t get enough of it.
“I wanted to go out today but this is too troublesome. I only have these clothes, not any water-repellent outfits. No one has mentioned them to me. I had no reason to think I would need any other outfit, but still.”
He smoothed over the uniform he was wearing. “...What are you doing today? I am stuck inside unless I brave the rain. I am not a fan of the cold. I miss the sun,” he sulked.

"I heard it was elsewhere....large bodies of salt water. Many things live in it." But he was glad they had fresh water, salt water was really no good to consume and it corroded things. "They have manythings here that are fascinating. I would like to spend more time here, after the mission, so we can see some more things. There is a lot to observe and learn about." Things they did not have currently where they lived, but if they ever reclaimed their home planet they would need to know about.
"I was thinking of going for a walk, despite the rain. If we were going to be staying longer I had wanted to see if I could not get some of the water repelling clothing so I could properly enjoy the rain...and look into the material of the clothing." It might in the future become something they too would need for themselves.
There was a lot he wanted to explore on this planet and enjoy, because this was all new to him and just the idea of something new was enjoyable.

Andreiya’s nose wrinkled. “What horrible things must be able to live in such an awful environment?” He wasn’t even sure he wanted to know. Sounded like monsters, living in salt water?
Silvera wasn’t wrong in that it was fascinating, at least. Even if Andreiya was wary about the resilience of something that could survive a living brine.
“I have an umbrella,” he said, and hesitated before he offered it. “If we go out, we could share it. We would have to stay close. But maybe it would be a bit less cold if we were pressed cold.”
He seemed to be braced for a no, but he’d made the offer, at least. And, if Silvera declined, he could always suck it up and run into the rain under his umbrella by himself.

"I met the senshi of the kraken...and I can only assume that they, if they were to have lived here, would have live din such waters. It seems they are big enough to house such a creature. But she told me they were not real...but myths...at least here." But likely they had been real on her homeworld, which he still wanted to see.
"I would like that, I like seeing how the color of things changes with the rain. Some things look prettier as well." He stated, thinking about what he'd seen while here so far. "Keeping close together may keep up both warm as well." Or at least warmer. He would like to find a way to get some of these normal human cloths as well./...especially some of the warm, soft, materials he'd felt and seen while out.
"We should see and explore as much as we can." Nodding his head as he spoke. He might not bounce around, like some others in their group, buut he was a curious person - he wanted to explore. He just didn't let on to how muuch he wanted to see this planet!

Andreiya did not mention that he had no idea what Silvera was talking about--Kraken? What? It sounded big, and big was dangerous, so--no, thank you.
He nodded along anyway.
It was still a bit cold outside, and the rain didn’t seem like it was going to let up any time soon. He looked at the umbrella, shook it a bit, opened it, and then held it over his head. He extended one arm, as if he thought they would be better off hooking their arms together to stay close beneath it.
“Then, we should go. Before it gets too late. Maybe we can find something to eat, too.”
He didn’t know what it was about this weather, but he wanted something warm.
And, not that he would admit it, unhealthy.

Silvera "Yes, the food here is so very different from home." It was good, in taste, but seemed very unhealthy in some cases. It made him wonder how the people here seemed healthy despite some of the foods they seemed to consume too much of.
Linking arms with the other Silvera nodded his head. "We should go, it might get worse." And he did want to get some food and enjoy the rain...but he didn't like the idea of a downpour, he'd heard someone use that word the other day. He'd looked into the meaning of the word...he didn't like the idea. It was too much rain if you asked him.
"Have you had food here yet?

Andreiya took a few extra seconds to dread the wet weather but he nodded and held onto Silvera’s arm.
“Hardly. So I think you should show me what you like and I will judge that when making my opinion.”
He drew himself close to Silvera so they could both be protected under the umbrella and held on tightly. He didn’t know what the weather held for them, or Destiny City, but he was glad he didn’t have to face it alone.
Under the right circumstances, maybe he could learn to like Earth. Or, at least, parts of it.
