Lixian made a face. Ugh... Of he got noticed. He sighed, scrubbing at his face as he waited for this so called "Battle Mom" to show. The sooner this practice was over, the sooner he could go back to his little corner and just wait as time passed by. He wasn't sure his part in any of this. Not in the slightest.

Lixian stifled a yelp when his name was called, his head turning in the direction Velyria called from. He flinched slightly, looking almost ashamed. "Ah... No... I haven't really." He should have, he guessed but he just never did. "I'm sorry. I guess I'm not doing a very good job of this am I?" He didn't like confrontation. But while he was never actively looking for trouble, trouble, it seemed was always out to find him.

"I don't know if nervous is what I'd call it." Lixian muttered. Honestly, he wasn't sure what to call it. Was there really a point in getting to learn something, seeing all of this.. only to go back home to... all that? Lixian made a face, let it drop.

"Forgive me Boss, but you're old." He said, with no real bite or malice to the words. Lixian huffed then, crossing his arms in what could best be described as a pout. "I'm not afraid." Lixian hissed. He just... had chosen to not go out. "Don't know if you've noticed Commander, but's not as if I'm often found talking to people." He was often by himself.

He didn't know what he was feeling, but he just couldn't seem to shake it and bring himself to do anything.

"Nah... If anything, I'd say they're the ancient ones. Your sister keeps you fairly active, so by that logic your joints are automatically better then theirs at least." He shot back, with the slightest of smirks. "The Commodore and the King? They get to oversee things. Sit behind tables, argue. Blah blah blah. Clearly you got the better end of the deal here."

Lixian watched as she fooled around with the knife before pulling out his own. He'd never entirely understand why it was such small daggers. Though, maybe things changed the higher he ranked.

He fixed her with a flat stare. "...So... He put me on this mission to make... friends?" Lixian asked flatly. He scrubbed at his face with his free hand. The Cadet opened his mouth, before closing it again. He repeated this a couple times before just throwing his empty hand in the air, throwing the Commander a funny look. "Seriously? Is... is that a thing higher ups do? Can you guys technically do that?"

The Cadet scrunched up his nose, thinking of the others position. "I don't even wanna think of the headaches they have to deal with. No thanks." With another sigh he finally moved closer. His strikes were a hot mess, despite all the training. It still felt awkward, though he supposed, he'd rather his dagger over a blaster any day. Lixian took a swing, feeling awkward about taking one at a Commander. "If there is a reason I was selected, I would have liked to have known about it I guess." Maybe he could have done better, if he had. Done more. "I'll be honest with you Commander." He said, trying to take another swing at her. "I don't see it. Whatever it is you lot see there. Or what you think is there." He didn't entirely understand why he was here.

Maybe he was scared.
