Kerberos's visits to the Vanguard's camp were frequent and pleasant. He'd come, again, to donate energy, but this time, it seemed the one he was meeting was a Cadet, rather than one of their leaders.
Well. As much as he liked Caedus and Lyndin, he couldn't completely monopolize their time, and getting to know the cadets was just as important.
"Hi!" Kerberos greeted, and he extended a hand, which was carrying a paper cup of hot chocolate. A gift for whoever he'd be meeting; he liked to bring snacks, or sandwiches, or hot drinks. "This is for you. I'm Kerberos, here to donate energy!"

Lixian had been so focused on... well not focusing, that he hadn't noticed the Senshi approaching him until a cup was thrusted in his face. The Cadet nearly toppled backwards in surprise as a strangled yelp tore it's way from his throat, but he caught his balance at the last possible second. All while somehow managing to miss the cup. "Hello.." He finally breathed out after a long moment. "My name's Lixi-" He blinked at the cup in front of him, confused. "....What's... What's this?" The Cadet asked, glancing from the cup to the Senshi himself. His confusion gave way to mild irritation as he made a face at energy donation... Right.. That was a thing wasn't it. Ugh... And Here he thought He could have gotten away with not doing it a little longer. Lixian sighed... Probably best to get this over with he guessed.

"Lixi?" Kerberos committed the name to memory, and nodded. Poor thing, he seemed nervous--but Kerberos guessed that made sense., Foreign planet, far from home, lots of strangers coming around; Kerberos would be nervous too. So he did his best to be calm and relaxed--maybe that would help.
"It's called hot chocolate," Kerberos explained. "A warm, sweet beverage that we drink here on Earth during the colder months--or any time of year, if you feel like, it, really." Which he imagined was a bit of a change; the impression he'd gotten was that the Velencyans didn't have mush int he way of luxuries, or nice things. "I like to bring something with me for whoever I'm meeting, so you all can experience a little more of Earth."

"Ah... No. It's, uh, Lixian... Actually." He mumbled awkwardly. Gingerly, he took the cup, shifting it back and forth in his palms as the heat seeped in. "...Thank you." The Cadet said softly, unsure what else to do. He sat quietly for a moment before glancing at the marks on the Senshi's skin. "...Why?" Lixian asked, gesturing at him. Why choose this... Any of this? He sighed. "I suppose we should get this over with."

"Ah, sorry," Kerberos said easily. "And you're welcome. I figure I ought to be welcoming to our guests from outer space." These aliens were visitors, afdter all, and they had bene kind, and they were offering an end to the war.
He hummed a bit, at the broad question, extending his hand and opening his palm.
"Why? That's a very broad question, there. Gonna narrow it down, or are you asking for my life story? Because we'll have time for the abridged version. The parts I remember of it, at least."

"It's okay." Lixian said. A simple mistake really. Anyone could make it. The Cadet sighed, taking a sip from the drink only to be presently surprised by it. Huh... Well who would have thought. Lixian shrugged lightly. "Why... Give energy. Why sign up for this. Why..." Any of it. Yeah sure, being a Cadet was a good thing... But... there'd been a nagging feeling as of late. He just didn't like this. Any of this. "... Guess we should just... get to it.. I guess." He should stop dottling. Before he get this Senshi in trouble.

Kerberos grinned, seeing Lixian's reaction. "Good?" He asked, thoguh he didn't really need an answer.
The further question got a shrug, and a slightly wry smile. "I think it's the right thing to do," Kerberos said. "I mean, for one--I have more energy than most Senshi, thanks to my bond with my planet. That's, uh, what the glowing marks mean; they're an external way to show the powerful bond between my starseed and my planet. They give me a couple different benefits, butt he most relevant one is that I have so much energy, I can share it--and you guys need it for something that I really, really hope works.
"And for another? I trust your leaders. Lyndin, and Caedus. I think both of them have good hearts, and want what's best for your people, and also for the universe; and if they say that us donating uor energy can fuel a weapon that might blow Metallia off the map? I believe they mean what they say."
There was a long pause, for a moment.
"And the biggest reason? I want Metallia gone. I want the people I love to be safe. I want the people in her service to be freed. No one deserves what Chaos does to people." He gave a brief nod. "Anyway, yeah, uh. Let's get started. Just touch and drain, yeah?"

"We don't really have stuff like this." He said. Lixian sighed. "I don't... get it. Why trust someone whose not from here." He asked. "Like.. I get the concept of trying to help someone. That's all I want to do but.. I don't know. I guess I'd be wary in a sense... You all just seem so accepting. I don't get it." Lixian was grateful for all the help... But he was just so surprised at how much help they'd received with little to no complaint. "I hope it works too..." He said softly, though that nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach churned, reminding him that it still existed. "I'm worried." He admitted. "Though I'm not sure of what, or why." Awkwardly, Lixian put his hand on the Senshi's shoulder, getting things started. "...I uh.. Is.. Is it weird to not be a fan of this?" It was his job, sure but still.

Kerberos shrugged. "Why shouldn't I trust you, just because you're not from Earth? People are people. Sapient beings are sapient beings. I trust that you're people who have your own struggles and desires, and not being from here doesn't enter into it." He exhaled between his teeth. No need to explain nationalism or factionalism or any of that nonsense to someone from off-planet; better to put a decent foot forward.
"Anyway, what's got you worried about it? I'm here because I want to be and I've got plenty ot share, and it's not like you can hurt me."
The draining was painless, and something Kerberos was more than used to. He'd gotten good at gauging when he'd given enough.
"Okay, stop," he said, after about half a minute, "I think that's about what I can give without worrying about getting myself home. If that's okay with you?"

"Aren't you scared, nervous? Nothing?" Lixian asked, bewildered. He had to admit, he was a little jealous by Kerberos' blind faith in them. He wished he could do that. Lixian shrugged. "I don't... know what I'm worried about exactly. I've just had this nagging feeling while I've been here. Like something could go wrong. Like something is going to go wrong. I want to believe this will work, and everything will be fine." That he was worried over nothing. "But I just can't seem to shake this feeling. No matter what I do, or who I talk to." Then Lixian realized what Kerberos had meant. "Oh. You meant... energy." He made a face. "I just don't like it cause I feel like I'm taking without giving something in return. It's not fair in the long run. Even if you offer. I know its a painless procedure but... I don't want to see anyone get hurt because of it. I just don't want trouble." He removed his hand without another word. "That's more then fine." It was over and done with now. He could put it out of his mind, for now. "Uhm... Be careful getting home... I guess I'll see you around?" Why was he so awkward....

"You're sweet," Kerberos said, "to worry about all of that." He shrugged his shoulders, briefly. As he did, and started to stand up, something bright and glowing--a little wispy orb--appeared and spun around Lixiah, and then nudged up against his cheek. Kerberos smiled, fondly.
"Ah, I see my wisp friend is happy to see you," he said, and he laughed. "Don't mind it, I'm sorry if it's a bother." He beckoned his wisp back.
"Good night, Lixian. I hope I can see you again soon!"
