History
The Aasimar first came into being during the Great Fiend War. While the Devils and Demons ravaged the lands, it was the Aasimar who became the defending armies for the gods. It was a long fought battle that devastated the world in many ways and those that were blessed by the Celestials were the ones that took the biggest hit.
Many remaining Aasimar took it as a sign to continue the gods work, for they were given these new abilities to do exactly that. Others resented the gods for causing the wanton destruction of them and their families. The remaining Aasimar did what they could to restore balance to the world, however, many disappeared, leaving the realms to deal with everything themselves.
As time went on, the Aasimar believed since their time was done, that they were no longer needed in Vigala and that they were owed a normal life after giving up so much for the world. As a reward, the Celestials created a world in the clouds for the Aasimar to live unmolested by others. The Aasimar named the city Clarion's Call and lived there for centuries believing that the problems on the ground were no longer their concern.
Clarion's Call became a beautiful landscape full of creatures that only live there. The city is a large scrawling metropolis full of white marble and glass that seems to catch the light of the sun. The Aasimar that live there lived in relative peace, never even feeling the touch of the Plague.
In recent years, the Aasimar have gained a new King, Quintus Eversong. His wife, the daughter of the former king, had been slain some years later trying to do what was right to help those below. Quintus took the throne with the King's blessing, telling him that he was wrong and that the Aasimar had hidden for far too long. It was time to take up arms and help others. This was not an easy change and many in the city still want nothing to do with those on the earth.
A certain Aasimar, named Requiem, had his own issues with the way things were being run in Clarion's Call. To prove his point, he stole the Censer of Undeath from where it had been hidden in the vaults and started what he believes is a crusade to wake up his people. Feeling this is the fault of his people's seclusion, Quintus has vowed to bring his people back into the world and correct their mistakes and to bring Requiem to justice.
