Fangnyl hummed lightly to himself as he treaded carefully through the woods, avoiding getting too close to the wildlife. He knew that keeping the woods as undisturbed as possible was vital to the continued existence of the animals here, and the very last thing he wanted to do was be the cause of some terrible happenstance on Earth, a planet he was growing so very much to admire. A planet that was nestling gently in his heart. A planet that caused a growing feeling, impossible to ignore (no matter how desperately he tried), that he wanted to stay here. Forever. It was a wicked internal battle, between his loyalty to Valencia and his desire to find their Senshi, and the longing desire to just live on a planet with life already, a life that was vast and interesting and beautiful. There was so much knowledge to be had here. And Earth was one of the final (if not the final) planets with self-sustaining life on it, completely organic. A desire to stay and defend it with all his might grew in his heart.
Shaking his head to disperse the thoughts away, he focused on two squirrels playing together on a tree branch not far from the spot where he'd settled himself on the ground, leaning up against a different tree, with his datapad in hand and taking vigorous notes on what he perceived here. It would prove deeply useful when comparing what he thought he knew to what the scientists of Earth had already put together, once he was able to get himself to their studies. He'd heard something about libraries here, and needing a certificate of some kind to access the information, so he'd probably need to talk to one of the humans in the know first.
He'd just have to discover the courage to actually talk to one, instead of just gathering energy as quickly and quietly as possible. He was supposed to also be gathering pertinent information on Earth anyway, not just observing, and yet... Perhaps it had to do with the battle inside himself, afraid that the more he ingratiated himself into Earth's ecosystem and the social system of the humans that he'd find it harder and harder to leave.

Caer Sidi found that sometimes, a little solitude was what a girl needed to get her thoughts together. And there were so many thoughts to get together--visitors from outer space, who were trying to utterly destroy the Negaverse. Who had a plan, but it required collecting willingly-given energy.
Everything about this was stranger, and she'd taken herself for a walk in her powered guise (mostly, in that case, for her own protection, because one never knew when the Negaverse might be lurking) and now she was paused, sitting on a stump and turning things over in her mind as she watched a squirrel scurry up a tree and the movement of the forest.
She stood up and went back onto the path--and wandered a little longer, before she was surprised to spot someone elsw. Someone who was distinctly not human. Lavender skin, pointed ears, cat pupils--ah, yes.
"Oh, hello!" She called, politely. "You must be one of our Velencyan visitors!"

Fangnyl startled when there was another person out here in the woods, disturbing what he thought would be some nice alone time to study the animals—but he didn't have to worry. She was someone (a Knight, he thought?) who wouldn't freak out at his alien appearance. (He was quite sure of the fact that saying he was in a Halloween costume of some kind wouldn't fly, considering he was walking alone in the woods). "I am," he said, then grew excited. If she was here, she could tell him everything he wanted to know about the animals and the plants! "I'm Fangnyl. I was out here studying the animals and such, honestly, Earth is such a beautiful planet... Could I ask you questions about these 'squire-earls' and 'posoms' and deer? And the plants?" His eyes were wide and bright with endless curiosity and delight. Noir Songbird he pronounced "possums" like "bosom"

Caer nodded, smiling broadly.
"I'm Caer Sidi," she introduced herself. "It's a pleasure to meet you." He ssemed so sweet, and so curious--were all the aliens like this? How lovely.
She supposed that it was likely none of them had ever seen a real, living world before, based on what the leaders had said.
Well, that was a sobering, terrible thought.
"I'd be happy to answer whatever questions you have." She looked for somewhere to sit, and spotted a fallen tree; sweeping her skirt carefully, so she wouldn't tangle up in it, she lowered herself down. "So! Ask away!"
She could have corrected his pronunciation, but honestly, it seemed so nitpicky she preferred not to.

Fangnyl grinned, perking up even more as she agreed to answer his questions and sat down. He took a deep breath to stop himself from getting too excited and cleared his throat. "Well... What do the 'squire-earls' eat? I've seen them running around a lot, but never seen one eating," he asked, looking up as one chittered at him from its branch. "And they seem rather fat." The squirrel chittered again and Fangnyl suddenly found himself the target of a walnut smacking him right between the eyes. "Ouch!"

Caer Sidi couldn't help but giggle. Fangnyl was so sweet, and so interested in their planet--she was already delighted by him, and glad that she had wandered this way.
And it was funny, too, when the squirrel grumpily threw its walnut at him.
"Well! You just saw one thing they eat," she bent to pick up the walnut, holding it for him to see. "Squirrels feed on nuts and fruits--all sorts of plants all over the forest. At least, as far as I know? I admit, I don't know everything about woodland biology." She tapped her cheek, briefly. "They do get quite fat, though, especially this close to the city. Here, they'll also raid our garbage."

Fangnyl flushed as she spoke the word squirrels, gently correcting his pronunciation effortlessly. He nodded as she educated him gently, giving the spot he'd been smacked a little rub, and hummed softly. "They—the wild animals—they get close to you?" he asked in amazement, "Outside of the forest?"

"Sometimes," Caer Sidi said, "though they're still wild animals and you have to be very careful with them. They bite, sometimes, or scratch, and that can be very bad--but it's because they've been frightened and they're defending themselves."
It really was sort of nice, to see this with new eyes--Fangnyl's excitement was almost infectious. She'd never been one for wide-eyed amazement at nature, butt here was something special about it, she supposed.

He nodded enthusiastically. "Well, that makes sense," he said, unable to stop grinning, "But it's still cool that, uh, that you can just go outside and see wild animals playing around your living spaces. That you live in such harmony with them. I couldn't imagine such a thing happening back home. Even if we did have room for wild animals." He chewed his lip thoughtfully, looking around. "It's nice, I think. To be here on Earth. I—" His face flushed with guilt. "I shouldn't be so excited. I'm supposed to be here to help Velencya." He shook his head violently, ignoring the way his heart suddenly clenched. He loved Velencya, but Earth was so appealing. He couldn't help it.

Caer Sidi shrugged. "And we're supposed to be focused on restoring our Wonders and planets, but I don't think it seems so wrong to me to have some affection for the places you visit. Especially when they're so different."
She stood up, giving Fangnyl a last nod and smile. "I can't stay too much longer, but I'd like to speak to you again. Another time, Fangnyl, and I hope you can find answers for your planet."
She gave him a brief bow, and made her way off, taking care not to startle the animals too much.
What a lucky little meeting.
