Aliez couldn’t actually read the books that had been dropped off by some kind Senshi or Knight, but he could look at the pictures. And scan each sentence of the strange language one at a time and hope that the translator worked properly. He was pretty sure tending to wounds had nothing to do with formal gowns or changing in and out of them. The sky was darkening on the horizon, but the lights from the dome made it easy for him to read and look through the bag of supplies he managed to procure from a local store -- which was an adventure in itself. He was grateful that some kind Senshi or Knight left them that world’s currency to use as needed, although he wasn’t sure he quite understood the concept or the amount he was giving, because he got an odd look when he almost left without changing or something, and was handed currency in return. On Velencya he was used to just doing things because it bettered everyone else. There was no need to exchange things for services. He wanted to help because it was the right thing to do. Exchanging items for paper and coins was so strange to him. He was busy trying to scan a page on properly stopping wounds from bleeding when he noticed an aura approaching. One of the Senshi that they were friendly with. “Hello,” he greeted with a small smile as he sat outside of the dome itself. It was somehow more peaceful than the soft hum of machinery inside. "My name is Aliez. Have you come to speak with the Commodore?"

Cybele had not, in fact, come to speak with the Commodore. She felt like she'd gotten about as much information out of Lyndin as he was going to give her, and although she'd left her second meeting with him having agreed to not directly fight against him and his people, for now it did not mean that she liked him or his plan. The fact that they were draining a comet still made her skin crawl, even if it was a fragment of their old moon which she supposed made them free to do what they wanted with it. She would not stop them in that. However, if their plan worked and they tried anything in the uncertain time that would surely come after Metallia was destroyed, or if they tried anything besides what they had specified that they were going to do in the meantime, any truce that Cybele had made with them would be void. She'd been watching them, just in case. It wasn't a constant thing, but at some point during her patrols, she made a point of swinging near the hill outside of town. It had never been eventful, so far, but today, one of them spotted her. She froze, not having expected one of them to be outside the dome. "No," she said after a few seconds, tone somewhat flat. "I'm just looking for monsters." She probably could have left it at that and hurried away, but that seemed rude. Distrust or no, she didn't want to be making enemies. Her eyes flicked to the book in his hand. "Are you reading?"

“Monsters…? The youma?” Aliez asked, his smile fading a bit. “You are very brave to face them. I know they can be quite vicious. Please be careful when you face them; however, if you sustain any wounds, I would be happy to assist in repairing them if you would like,” he offered, placing a thin ribbon between the pages he was reading and gently closing the book to return to at another time. Luckily, most of the information he was learning about was basic information they knew from their medical training, although it was not exactly necessary when they had their source stones. Still, he knew a good bit in case they ran out of energy. And on this world, energy was very important for them to collect. He looked down at the book and nodded. “I am attempting to translate this language, yes,” he explained, grateful that their technology allowed him to speak with her, but reading could be quite difficult. Some of the other Velencians seemed to have picked up on the humans’ written language quite quickly, but his focus had always been on other areas. Such as learning how to control his Source Stone. “Your people do not heal the way us Velencians do. We use our energy to help heal wounds, but I am learning how to properly… gown…? abrasions and the like. I believe my translator means dress. It is very frustrating. Is it true that broken bones require at least several weeks of healing? That sounds miserable. My condolences to those who must suffer with those injuries.”

"The youma, yes, and the rest of the Negaverse." The compliment caught her off guard. Brave? Her friends called her that, sometimes, when they talked about her leaving the Negaverse, but she wasn't expecting it from one of the aliens. If she ran into any of them, she had sort of been expecting a carbon copy of Lyndin, someone with sharp eyes and a similar amount of overconfidence. Faced with this boy, Cybele found herself softening against her better judgement. "How do the Velencians heal?" she asked, slowly, like she still did not quite want to speak, but there was a spark of curiosity in her eyes. "It's difficult to imagine things not taking weeks to heal. Even abrasions." Cybele's skin was flecked with scars, particularly around her shoulders and upper arms. She turned to show him the scar from when Sylvite had stabbed her, on her shoulderblade a few inches off from where it would have been truly serious. It was still slightly pink. "It's been a few months on this one, and it still aches a bit." She hesitated again, but eventually added, "Dressing just means covering the wound. Gowns are something that people wear in hospitals, when they're getting treated. Is that what the book said? Gowns?"

Aliez nodded in understanding when the Senshi included the Negaverse in her list of monsters. “I was told they take what they want without asking. That is very cowardly of them.” He continued to observe when she showed him her scars, and he frowned further. He turned his hand over so that his palm was face up. A bracelet that had his Source Stone was fastened to the inside of his wrist. “Scars are not common on Velencya. King Caedus sustained scars when he was trapped in the Negaverse’s Rift for many centuries. We use these to channel energy into our bodies to repair injuries. Often we collect our own energy to help us sleep. It is a good idea for all Velencians to keep their Source Stone charged, in case of injury. I have extra energy I keep saved, just in case.” He had a pained look on his face as he observed her scars, especially the one she said aches. His fingers twitched as though he wanted to try to reach out and possibly use his stone to heal her. But he knew better. “It does not seem as though our Source Stones are compatible with your human physiology. I already attempted to use the energy to heal another I met. He taught me how humans tend to their wounds, but only the basics. A lot we have already learned, but we almost never have to practice,” he explained and looked down at the book again. “I was trying to learn what I can, in case I could be of assistance. Ah, but yes. I fear our translators tend to mix up some words every now and then,” he said, and held the book up to show her the page he was reading, which indeed explained how to dress a wound and nothing about gowns.

Cybele’s lips twitched when he spoke of the Negaverse taking things without asking. She nodded. “They take all sorts of things. Energy, starseeds, lives, captives. Your King, me.” She let out a breath through her teeth. “It’s disgusting.” She stayed still while he looked over her scars, not seeming to mind the attention on them. The memories of how she’d ended up with them were gone, and except for the one on her back, they were faded enough not to be overly noticeable. Her thoughts were elsewhere, anyway. Her gaze flicked to the sky. “Although, this comet that you’re planning to drain can’t exactly give you permission, can it? Yet you’re going to take all those energy and resources from it anyway.” Her tone was flat, not quite accusatory but sort of edging in that direction. She caught herself and was careful to sound much more polite when she asked, “Are any of your people planning to stay around once the weapon is fired?” Yes, she was asking because she was suspicious of their long term goals, but she turned back to Aliez with a small smile anyway and made a bit of a show of massaging her shoulder. “Obviously I don’t know much about this technology, but it’s possible that you could calibrate it to work on us if you spent some time studying human biology.”

He frowned miserably to know how cruel the Negaverse had been to so many people. His heart ached, and there was no amount of energy in his Source Stone to heal the way he felt it breaking. “I know what they took can not always be given back. For that I offer my greatest sympathy,” he said quietly, although he could tell that she seemed somewhat irritable, especially when she brought up the piece of Archideus that was on a course towards Earth. “The Negaverse is not the only force that takes without permission. And without mercy. Velenia was taken from us. Its moons were destroyed. All we have now is Velencya. And while no, the piece of Archideus can’t give its permission, but I would like to believe that a fragment of the moon that once orbited our world would want to do anything it could to help those it once watched over.” His voice was quiet and sad. He never knew Velenia, but he knew of the horrors his elders experienced. The horrors his own parents experienced, and their friends and family. “When I die, my body and energy will be returned to Velencya, and those who live there will prosper. That is the greatest honor for a Velencian -- to better our community and ourselves. So, yes. I believe Archideus would want to answer the request of Velenia’s rightful King.” He paused, confused about her other questions, but nodded. “I would like to stay and learn more, if the Commodore allows it. It is clear that both he and King Caedus wish to help Earth and its people. They both experienced Velenia fall. I believe they are desperate to save this world from a similar fate. But. Calibrating the technology to work on humans could be beneficial,” he said with sincere curiosity as he lifted a hand to rub thoughtfully at his chin. “Our Source Stones won’t be able to heal humans, but we could possibly adjust the technology to try and limit the length of injury. That is a good idea. I will need to research more to see if it is possible."

Cybele nodded at the offer of sympathy, her gaze flicking to the ground for a moment. This boy seemed so sincere in every word he spoke, and yet something abut that did little to comfort her. He spoke of loyalty, of the unconditional sort, even from worlds and inanimate objects, even to the point of potential destruction. It was sweet, thinking of a moon that would try to help its planet, just as the people of the planet did, until Cybele began to think a bit deeper about the implications. If Lyndin did turn out to have some sort of ulterior motives, or if Velencya deemed Earth's resources a worthy sacrifice for their cause, she wondered how many sweet-faced soldiers he had who would turn on humanity and fight them, even until death. "Perhaps," was all she said about that. There was no point in sharing her concerns with this one. There was no point in doing much of anything, other than waiting and watching. It was easier to simply talk about their technology. "You do not think it would ever be able to heal humans?" she asked, her lips pressing thin even as she looked up to meet his eyes again. "Why? Are our bodies that different?" That was asked with genuine curiosity. Cybele did not think that she had ever been a medic, but as someone who had received her share of injuries, the possibility of having good healing technology was almost as tempting of a thing as the possibility of having the Velencyans just destroy the Negaverse.

Aliez blinked curiously at the Senshi, and then down at the Source Stone he wore against his wrist. It was easiest to access that way, but also kept it safe. He could hold it close to protect it, and protect it when helping others to heal as well.
"I'm not sure. I tried healing a couple humans before. And one of the animals of this world," he frowned, not really wanting to think about it since it made him too sad, but she had the right to know.
"Maybe it's how our energies work. I don't think we're much different, anatomy wise. At least not from what I've researched. It might be because we have an almost symbiotic relationship with Velencya and Velenia. Our Source Stones are important to us to help with healing and adjusting flow of energy, just as the worlds adjust the flow. Ah, but I'm more of a healer, not really a scientist."
He wasn't much of a fighter either. That was why he was sitting outside of the dome collecting volunteered energy instead of trying to gather more information elsewhere.

Cybele was not really one who would have any of the answers on this. She was neither a healer, or a scientist, or even someone who knew things about the energies of planets. Her relationship with the energies from the asteroid Cybele that gave her the senshi powers was tenuous at best. "I wish you luck with your research," was really all she could say about it. It was more than she had said to Commodore Lyndin. Although, even to this kind one, she had to quickly add, "Although, if you wish to focus your energy on healing your own people, that is also fine." He was still one of them, so she still had to be careful. She did not want to imply that she wanted some kind of future relationship with these people. She did not want to make any requests of, say, healing, of them that could come with implications of debt.As she stood there, she realized that even making small talk came with the risk of those implications she did not want. She went stiff again. "I should return to the hunt," she said.

There was something strange about the way she was behaving, but maybe that was just a human thing? She seemed tense and a bit agitated. All Aliez could do was offer her what he hoped would translate as a kind smile.
"Thank you. And I wish you well on your hunt," he said. He paused for a moment before adding, "And please stay safe. I don't want anyone getting caught up in whatever the Negaverse or their youma are doing." Seeing Asphodel Knight hurt was bad enough.
"If you ever need anything, please ask and we will do what we can to assist."
He didn't want to pressure her into staying just so he could ask her more questions, but he hoped she would return at some point so he could show her any progress he made on learning how to help heal humans as well.
