Fólkvangr knew that she needed to make more contacts, among other Knights. Valhalla and Ganymede and their family were lovely, and she'd met a few other people, but she still needed to be as well-connected as possible; there were far too many people out there who would be all too glad to do her harm if they got the chance. Better she have as many friends as possible to prevent that.
So when she sensed another Knight, she went to find them; better to get to know as many people as possible. She knew that she'd be glad for it.
When she followed her senses and found a Mars Knight, she opened her mouth to say hello, but she froze in place.
There was something...eerily familiar about this woman, and Fólkvangr took a long look, taking her in, before she broached with--
"....Cinnabar?"
Was she wrong? Would the other woman even recognize her? Or remember her? It was hard to say, but she had to at least ask.

The night had started out fine. A few scuffles, nothing major, and she'd managed to dust a small handful of youma who'd been roaming the streets harassing people. It had gone downhill when she'd lost track one of sneaky little youma and decided to catch it, meaning Tanais spent a fruitless hour trying to find it, only to have it slip away from her and lead her on another tedious search. It moved like an eel, almost, slipping through cracks she'd thought it too big for.
She'd lost it for good in the small strip mall, in the alley behind the closed book store. It had dived into the boxes and seemed to simply evaporate, because even though she moved nearly all of them, she hadn't caught sight of it again. Frustrating and swearing colorfully to herself, she only belatedly felt the warmth of another energy signature approaching.
When Tanais turned, it was to find a lovely young woman with pink hair and a scandalous outfit, her skin covered in scars. A smile had flashed onto her face at the sight, but it froze when the question came... the Name.
"Sorry, Lovely, but that general is gone. If you had beef with her, you'll be glad to know she won't be back." She spread her arms a little, gauntlets catching the light as she half bowed. "I'm Tanais, Knight of Mars. I'm afraid I don't know who you are, much as I regret that."
She held out a hand, her smile more genuine this time. "But I would love to make your acquaintance."

Ah. That seemed to be a "no," on the recognition front. Fólkvangr wasn't sure how she felt about that--but truth be told, it was good to see that Cinnabar-now-Tanais was no longer part of the Negaverse. But at least the Mars Knight wasn't panicking or getting angry about being referred to as her old name; that was definitely a step in the right direction.
And perhaps this was for the best. Certainly, it would mean a new start.
"No beef, no," she shook her head, letting out a brief laugh, and she reached out to take Tanais's hand and shake it. "Actually, we worked together, back when we were both in the Negaverse. It's good to meet you again on the other side, Tanais. I'm Fólkvangr, Squire of Ganymede."
What a gorgeous woman she was, too; she'd been beautiful before, as a wild, powerful dragon-woman, but now...mmm, Mars colors looked well on her, and the wildness was still there, and the power, but perhaps without quite the same edge of potentially lethal danger. Fólkvangr didn't consider that a loss.

Finding out there was no past complications with this woman had Tanais visible relaxing, her shoulders dropping as the tension in them eased. Her smile was much brighter this time, and far easier.
"I suppose congratulations are in order all around then. I'm sorry I don't remember you. I woke up in a park, surrounded by senshi, and everything before that is just a grey fog. Sometimes things feel familiar, but that's really it." She said. Folkvangr's hand felt small in her own and belatedly she dismissed her gauntlets so they touched skin to skin instead, only linen wrapping Tanais's palm.
"I haven't met a lot of Ganymede knights. Or really any, I guess. What's that planet like? Big, luxurious cities full of marble and gold chandeliers?" Considering what the squire wore, it had to be some place fancy, and likely a stark contrast to the sands and rock of Mars. Was their magic different to? She had such little experience with all the different places Knights came from.

Fólkvangr nodded. "I understand we all lose memory, when we come over." She sighed, a little unhappily. "I remember being Erythrite, but not who I was outside of that." She shrugged her shoulders. "But it's an opportunity, in some ways. To rebuild anew."
It was nice, to get to touch, skin to skin.
"It's fancy, yeah," she said. "I've only bene to my own Wonder? But it's this grand chateau, and according to my ancestor spirit--do you have one of those?" Did every Knight? Were some reborn, like Senshi? It wasn't as if Fólkvangr knew-- "Anyway, she says that in the past, the people that worked there were trained as courtesan-spies. Because, you know. People have terribly loose lips in those kinds of circumstances."
She laughed. "I'd like to see more of it--and finish exploring my Wonder. I saw a hallway and an office, mostly, but I know there are a lot of rooms, and I'd bet money on gardens and all sorts of other fancy nonsense."

Tanais raised her eyebrows as she gave the other knight a significant look up and down.
"I guess that explains the outfit?" She said with a broad grin. "I hope you're as dangerous to our enemies as they were..."
Her smile morphed into a grimace and she shrugged with one shoulder. "I've never seen a ghost there, unless you count the lion, and I think that's probably my summon, not my ancestor. Sometimes I get memories though, not of who I was before I purified, but of me a long time ago... I've seen a knight I know in those memories, another Mars Knight like me, so they're probably from my past life. Which I suppose means I'm reborn, and not descended."
"Mars is very much not fancy." She said, finally releasing the other woman's hand so she could move to the edge of the roof and settle down on the brick and cement wall that ran around it. She stretched her long legs out, crossed at the ankles, as she put her back to the lights of the city. Those lights caught and glinted on her armor, haloing her dark hair. "Its what you see in photos of Greece these days, with all the crumbling stone work, and a lot of sand and dust. Everything is barren desert, though its a little better around the edges of the river. Without anyone to tend the fields though, its just a mess of wild growth. I only know there were fields because I remember them sometimes."

"Oh, I hope I can be," Fólkvangr grinned, and snapped open her fan to lightly flutter it in front of her face. It made for an excellent tool for playfulness and flirtation, and right now, she felt very much like being playful and flirtatious.
Tanais's explanation of what she'd found on her Wonder made Folk nod along thoughtfully. Reincarnated versus descended...that made sense, she supposed, not that she'd yet gotten to understand the minutia of exactly how Knighthoods was passed from person to person.
"What's it like, seeing another you? Talking to an ancestor is at least pretty straightforward, even if she's giving you a hard time for showing up late to your Wonder." She laughed, a little, and shook her head. "But Mars sounds...beautiful, in its own way." She flicked her eyes up and down Tanais, unsubtly. "A sort of...wild, powerful beauty, I think. Which I imagine must be what it looks for in its Knights."

Her flirtations were not missed and it brought a warmth to the way Tanais smiled that was more than just friendly. It made the question a bit of a distraction. Pausing, her expression thoughtful, she felt her way through it.
"Its not like seeing another me, really. Its not like I'm watching a movie." She said as she rocked forward, pushing herself to her feet. "Its more like when you remember something you did as a child. Its happening to you, and you feel things you felt back then. Sometimes there are bits of thought, names and places you feel like you should recognize, because they were important to you back then. They still feel important, even if you don't know why. You get caught up in it, and sometimes its really vivid. Sometimes its vague. I don't know why."
She half smiled as she stepped closer, her gaze still half in her memories, and reached up to cup her fingers gently around the soft curve of Folkvangr's jaw.
"Its not as wild as it is... ancient and heavy. You can feel the weight of its years when you stand in it's streets, and the strength it took to persevere for so long. Its immovable, uncompromising, and... well, kind of judgey. It demands you be worthy of it." Tanais's smile grew more sly as she bent forward, her eyes searching the shorter woman's face. "The wildness is all me."

Fólkvangr was listening to Tanais with interest, of course--though it wasn't just the interest of her general hunger for knowledge of Knights. There was something special, sometihng particularly delightful, aobut being obviously flirted with by a gorgeous woman--and Tanais was a very gorgeous woman. Fólkvangr certainly didn't think of herself as a delicate damsel to be protected--no, she was far more capable than that, had been more capable as Erythrite and would not relinquish that strength just because she wore much frillier skirts--but there was something wonderfully appealing about the idea of folding in against someone as tall, and strong, and imposing as Tanais.
So when Tanais's hand cupped her jaw, Fólkvangr's eyes half-lidded, and she gave a charmed little hum.
"I see. That sounds....very interesting," she said, and she quirked her eyebrows. "I can't see how it could judge you anything less than worthy, though." A grin, playful. "....And I would love to see exactly how wild you can be, Knight Tanais."

Tanais hovered close, a laugh sending warm breath between her lips.
That's probably why you're not a Mars knight, Rose.
Folkvangr's comment was based in flirtation and flattery, and that's how the knight chose to enjoy it, letting the baggage attached to the reality stay at rest. Baggage was never fun, especially not when you were entertaining a beautiful woman.
She dipped her head the distance between them, her finger's firming on her jaw, and pressed the first warm, exploratory kiss to the bright red lips.
Outside perception dimmed as her focus narrowed and she let other thoughts fade as well. They didn't really matter, right at the moment. Mars wasn't going anywhere and her past wasn't going to get any clearer. There were far more interesting things happening in the here and now.

The kiss drew a contented sigh from Fólkvangr's lips, and she leaned into it, eyes fluttering closed. It had been a long time since she'd let anyone touch her like this when it wasn't for the purpose of draining their energy later, and she had almost forgotten how good it felt.
It didn't matter that Tanais wasn't Cinnabar, and she hadn't found the woman she was seeking. She'd found someone far more interesting, and she was sure that she would very much enjoy getting to know the beautiful MArs Knight whose lips were on hers.
In every way Tanais let her.
She nibbled at the other woman's lip, a teasing, playful gesture, and an urging to deepen the kiss.

Whatever patrol either of them had been doing was given up for a lost cause, at least to Tanais. A warm, luscious body was far more interesting than trooping about in the chill. She hadn't been... bereft of partners since she'd gone separate ways with Gehenna, but few of them had been powered like Folkvangr was. Few of them knew the responsibility she carried or the things she'd been through. Even more than most other knights, who had only ever been knights... she knew what it was to have been on the other side, and what it was like to have left that behind and forged something new with nothing but scattered memories.
She offered a kind of solace and kinship Tanais didn't find very often, and at least for now, a sort of bodily comfort the knight craved without realizing it. Lovely and soft, and fun... and so very warm.
