Quote:
Art Alive (1): Destiny City tries to keep a clean, upstanding city, but sometimes you just can’t beat the taggers. Graffiti art has been popping up around the city but it seems like it’s always moving from place to the next. Literally. The art is up one day and gone the next--on a completely different wall. Some people think it’s an elaborate prank--except, sometimes, in the dark of the night, you can see the art stretching from one wall to the next. Or, maybe it’s just your eyes playing tricks on you. No one would believe you if you said you saw artwork moving, anyway.

Fólkvangr was, perhaps, comfortably used to strange sights. She knew that Destiny City was a weird place, and she'd been inoculated to its quirks over the years.

This, however, was new.

She remembered the alien visitors, of course, but she hadn't run into one since that big discussion with everyone; still, she was pretty sure that the person she was looking at, with pastel blue skin, had to be one of them. And the poor girl (?, Fólkvangr was pretty sure, but it was sort of a guess, with them not being human and all) seemed to be staring at a blank wall. She frowned, slightly.

"Everything okay?" She asked, politely.

'So strange' thought Vaylin as she marveled at the blank wall. It was all so strange, she had seen human wall art in this specific tunnel just yesterday. She was certain it was at this location, she had a very good sense of direction and she knew she had seen colorful wall art in this storm drain tunnel, not that she knew that was what it was, yet not the walls were completely blank. It didn't make any sense to her and so as she was lost in this confounding mystery she didn't notice the woman approaching her.

She nearly jumped out of her skin when the woman began speaking to her, she was in a fairly isolated section of park late at night so she hadn't expected any humans to come across her. But then once she calmed down and looked at her sudden company she realized it was one of the knights. "Oh my, sorry, you scared me. Um yes. Well no...maybe" She answered unsure as she looked back at the blank wall.

"Do you humans have self erasing art? Why, it was such pretty wall art." She couldn't comprehend it, maybe it was supposed to be some sort of artistic message that was lost on her because she was not human.

Fólkvangr blinked, and looked over at the wall, and frowned faintly. "We do not, in fact, have self-erasing wall art. Why do you ask?"

She had a bit of a suspicion, considering what she and Anser had encountered, but maybe, just maybe, this was different. Maybe the art had simply been cleaned up. Unlikely, in a storm drain tunnel so far out of the way, but Fólkvangr wanted to hope that perhaps it wasn't that. Maybe it would be something else, and not yet another example of a mysterious phenomenon for which they had no answers.

Ugh. It probably wasn't, though.

"Was there something here before?"

Vaylin nodded her head to the knight's question. "There was a lovely example of your human calligraphy and art in this tunnel. It was just here last night. But gone now and I just can't figure it out." She said thinking back to the graffiti she had seen before. "Did other humans come to remove it?"

"Oh I'm sorry I haven't even introduced myself. My name is Vaylin, I'm a Cadet for the Vanguard of Velencya." She introduced herself finally remembering her manners. Then her mind turned back to the disappearing art.

"I just don't get it, it was brand new, why would someone remove it already?" She asked the knight hoping she could provide some insight into this behavior. "It wasn't there two days ago, suddenly it's there yesterday, and now its gone today."

Ah, damn it. Fólkvangr sighed, discontentedly, looking at the wall. Empty indeed, and there was no reaosn for this sweet Cadet to lie.

"It's nice to meet you, Vaylin," she said, extending her hand. "I'm Fólkvangr, Squire of Ganymede." She still looked serious, but her voice was kind.

"It's possible someone came and cleaned it up," she confessed. "We humans call things like this graffiti, and it's not supposed to be left up. But down here? And with so much older stuff still on the walls? It's not really likely that someone removed it." She sighed.

"I ran into something like this before, with a Senshi named Anser. We couldn't find an answer for it--human art isn't supposed to move like that."

"It's a pleasure Fólkvangr" She shook the offered hand, at this point used to the human gesture of greeting. She hummed at the woman's explanation. She thought it was a shame to 'clean up' art even if it was in the incorrect place.

"So where is this graffiti supposed to be done then? Is it some sort of statement about the transient nature of human life? Why not leave it up?" It all brought up questions that fascinated her, they were questions that perhaps didn't further the mission but she figured it wouldn't hurt to take a break to learn more about Earth culture, besides she couldn't help herself she was curious.

But then there was the rest of what the Squire had to say, even more curious facts. "So it's unlikely a human moved it, and you and this Sailor Anser encountered this before but couldn't find an answer. How curious I wonder if it could be some magical phenomenon this could warrant further study." She said nodding to herself as she looked at the tunnel.

Fólkvangr sighed, softly.

"It's....complicated. Many humans are invested in the preservation of certain spaces, and see graffiti art as an imposition, rather than an art form." She moved over tot he wall, running her fingers over one of the other pieces on the wall. "It plays into certain human idiocies about what we do and don't consider worthwhile art." Was this really the time to explain broken windows policing and all the other human foibles around class and law enforcement?

....Probably not.

"Anyway, suffice to say, humans have some stupid ideas, and one of them is what results in graffiti art getting cleaned up. But it's sort of a long story, and we'd have to talk a lot about human sociology and thought." She laughed, quietly. "Which, if you'd like to, I can do my best?"

She shrugged her shoulders. "As for the magic, I think that's the only thing that makes any sense--even if it doesn't entirely." She looked around.

"Perhaps we can explore and see if we can find it?"

It would certainly be interesting to do so.
