Embly stood outside her house and looked up at the grey sky, she just couldn't seem to wake herself up that day, so she decided to get out of the house and head for the city to go window shopping. She had heard of people getting sick, but considering it was chilly and fall she figured it was nothing more than the common cold and nothing to worry about. She pulled her coat tightly around her body as she headed out. The wind blowing cold and the leaves swirling around on the sidewalk. She made it to the city and looked into the window of a clothing shop.

Andreiya did not like looking human. It was weird, and they all wore so many different clothes. It was impossible to tell what was the right outfit. He’d spent four hours yesterday in a store wandering around until he’d been stopped, scolded, and then finally taken seriously. He hadn’t wanted to give the rude human any funds, but he had helped him pick out something comfortable and fit in.
So today, Andreiya was dressed in warm brown boots and almost too-tight pants, and a big maroon sweater that fell past his fingertips. He didn’t want to admit that he felt very cozy in the would-be ill-fitting clothes, because they looked too cozy, and he was here on a mission.
He held his Source Stone in his hand and was almost anxiously gathering small bits of energy as he walked through the crowd, desperate to make up for all the time he’d wasted yesterday.
He’d been able to walk through town without being noticed, but as he walked he noticed someone distracted in front of a window--so naturally, he stopped to look too.
Clothes. Weird clothes. Clothes he kind of wanted to try on.
His lips pursed and he squinted.
Seasons did not change on Velencya, so the cool air was startling, and the falling leaves were alarming.
Earth was clearly dying, rapidly.
He let out an audible squeak when the cool wind ruffled his hair, and inhaled sharply when a leaf got stuck in his hair, and nearly dropped his Source Stone in his frantic effort to displace the leaf. “Oh, this is horrible!” he muttered under his breath, and flung the leaf off of himself--just in time for the wind to pick it up and carry it until it flew at Embly’s face, too.

Embly hadn't noticed that someone else was standing at the shop window with her until she heard them shirk and she turned to see them panicking over a leaf in their hair. She blinked a moment wondering if they were from a tropical island that didn't have falling leaves so they didn't know anything about falling leaves? Then the leaf hit her in the face and she waved it away. "It's alright they are just dead leaves." She said softly.

Andreiya turned to face the woman next to him and looked flustered still. “I know that,” he said quickly. “It just surprised me.”
And yet, he felt like she could see through him, like she must know there was something strange about him. He had to smooth this over quickly. He tried to stand a little taller. “Bugs. There can be bugs on it. And they get stuck in your hair, or bite you.”
Oh, that wasn’t really any better. “Allergies. I also have bad allergies,” he added, watching her closely like he needed to make sure she believed one of these stories.

Embly blinked at the strange figure, bugs kinda made sense but allergies and leaves made no sense at all to her. She frowned. "Umm ok.." She felt there was something odd about this figure but she couldn't put her finger on what the problem was. "Well ok then.." She said in an awkward tone unsure how to excuse herself from this situation politely.

Andreiya stared for a few seconds and--maybe--realized that this was not exactly a completely effective meeting, and he was starting to get nervous.
He needed to get out of here. Probably soon.
His fingers ran over the edge of his Source Stone and he wondered if it would be bad to--oops, too late. He was already using it to drain her energy, just a little bit. Maybe just enough to make her sleepy! To make her go home or walk off.
He didn’t exactly seem to know what to make of anything, he didn't know how to leave. How did you end a conversation on Earth?
He just sort of stared at her, blinked, and seemed to be waiting.

Embly suddenly started to feel tired, she didn't really think about it being a magic thing so she just turned to the figure that had been looking in the shop window with her and said "Well it was nice to meet you. I'm Embly by the way." She stifled a yawn. "This weather makes me so sleepy I must be going, have a nice day." She said in her normal tone.

Andreiya fumbled and nearly dropped he Source Stone he was using to gather energy when she spoke again. “Oh. Yes. Hello, Embly. This weather also makes me sleepy. So I will also be going. It was nice to meet you and I am sorry that I hit you with the leaf. You have a good day. Thank you,” he said, only he wasn’t really thanking her for her manners.
...He was definitely thanking her for helping him gather a little extra energy. He was proud of himself for it, too--even if he’d been assaulted by a leaf to get it. Now, he couldn’t wait to go gather a little more and then head back to their base to show off how much he’d collected.
He turned away from her quickly and hurried on to the next shop, gathering little bits of energy along the way.

Embly nodded as she watch the figure leave they didn't tell her their name and she thought that was a little bit rude but there was nothing she could do about it. She needed to head home and take a nap she had been having a tough week. She started off down the street heading in the direction of her home. She was a bit sad that she had lost her energy so quickly. She didn't like being in her home it was so big and had so many cold empty rooms. It was lonely and felt dark. She preferred being anywhere except at her family home. There was nothing to be done for it now, she was tired and needed to get back home so she could rest for a while. She figured she would lay down and read a book and then take a nap. Once she arrived home she opened the door and let herself in. She sighed and sat down in a chair by the door wondering why she had gotten sleepy so quickly. She shrugged figuring it was nothing more than the weather on this foggy cold day. She didn't know of anything that could steal energy like this, but she was still new to this world and didn't know much.
