Is this it, real proof of an actual lizard person?? Is it a youma? The internet says it’s a hoax, and it’s hard to take it seriously anyway, even if there is something strange about it. It’s become something of a local joke; people have made memes about it and are dressing up as lizards and posing in similar alleys. And yet, there have been a string of attempted break-ins, with strange claw marks around the door handles.

Silistra had been having a very strange week and it looked like it was going to get stranger she was investigating lizard people. She couldn't believe she was even thinking it, then again with yoma in the city it could be a yoma that looked like a lizard. She arrived in the alley and started looking for clues. She couldn't help but wonder as she was looking who or what would knock her down this time. She laughed to herself. Of course, it couldn't happen a third time in one week, right?

Silistra wasn’t really having any sort of luck when it came to avoiding accidental combat, and tonight wasn’t going to bring her any more luck. Her investigation down the alleyway brought her dangerously close to one of the mirrors the Dark Mirror Senshi had hidden, and it just so happened to be one of Super Sailor Arnica’s favorite pathways. He was running and out of breath after a very aggressive Knight tried to rip his head off.
So, naturally, when he stepped out of the mirror and felt another energy signature, he didn’t make the mistake of wasting time.
He used his magic on her, immediately, and then it sort of clicked that--okay, no. She was a page. He knew they weren’t lethal. And she wasn’t chasing him. And she was in his alley and he really did not want her to break his mirror or leave with a bad impression.
“Hey, hey,” he said quickly, “No, no, no.”
Just as his Mandragora ring appeared, he grabbed her and tried to pull her out before any symptoms could set in. “Sorry! Sorry, I was just--are you okay? I didn’t mean to attack you, I thought you were someone else and I freaked!”

Silistra was having a very bad week. Out of nowhere, she was attacked and even if she could fight back the best she could do would be to hit the figure with her lamp. As it so happened she was feeling dizzy and fushed. Her head was spinning as someone grabbed her. She blinked at them. "Ummm..." She had no words for what she was feeling as her legs gave out under her. She was pretty sure she was going to fall to the ground of the alleyway. She had a faint thought that she hoped they weren't attacked by the lizard monster.

Arnica set her down gently, just a few feet away from his magic circle. “Hey, it’s okay. I’ve got you. I’m not going to hurt you, sorry. I literally just ran away from a Knight who wanted to murder me, I was on edge. You didn’t do anything wrong. Magic’s gonna pass in just a minute, just breathe,” he reassured, and kept looking behind him like he expected the Knight to somehow arrive through the mirror. He stayed on his knees next to Silistra, holding her up while he tried to let her catch her breath.
“I’ve got you. Don’t hold this against me. The sensation is going to pass in just a minute, you’ll be good as new. My name’s Arnica.”

Silistra blinked as the feelings finally passed and she was able to get up and look at the figure who had attacked her. "Umm.. well.. " She was at a loss for words she had been attacked and then apologized to, that was really strange. "I'm Silistra." She looked around confused "Where did you come from?" She didn't see any place for Arnica to have been hidden to catch her so off guard. She squinted at Arnica and frowned. "Are you the lizard person everyone has been seeing?" She knew nothing about dark mirror senshi. Still new to being a page herself. Her question was soft and her tone uncertain. She wasn't ready yet to just accept their applogy.

Arnica blinked. “What? No, do I look like a lizard? I’m Arnica. I’m part of the Dark Mirror Court.” He nodded to the mirror leaning against the wall and figured that she had a right to know; if she was going to break it after all of this, maybe it would be fair.
“We can walk through mirrors. So don’t stand too close to any if you find them around town. Don’t want to hurt you. Didn’t mean to run into you.”
When she looked like she was coming out of the effects of the magic, he leaned back a bit to give her a little bit of space. “Although, I was looking for that lizard person, too. Haven’t seen anything yet though, sorry.”

Silistra sighed "Oh ok, umm.. I'm Silistra, I'm a page of Saturn." She said softly And then turned her head to the side "Umm you don't seem very dark to me, what does it mean to be a dark mirror court member?" She was curious she knew nothing about them and since she had been run over by one she wanted to know more now she had met one. This one didn't seem evil to her. She had no thoughts in her head about breaking the mirror. At least until she found out they were hurting others and even then she would rather talk to them rather than break their mode of transportation. Silistra didn't want to hurt others at all. She was a non-violent sort and destruction just wasn't her thing. She had a lot of other things she would rather be doing. One of them learning to take care of others as a nurse in training or at least getting her Frist Aid cert. "Yes, I was looking for them too.." Not that she knew what to do with one once she found them. "Umm.." She said softly again at a loss for words.

“To be honest, I don’t know why we’re named what we are,” he confessed. “Just sort of got slapped onto it. I always figured it was because we came from the dark side of the mirror. You know, the place beyond what you can see? If you look in the mirror, you just see yourself. But there’s a whole world beyond that, and the Dark Mirror Senshi can reach it. But--I’m not up to no good or anything. We drain energy? A little? But it’s not like the Negaverse, and it’s for a good cause. It’s to support the world on the other side. But--nobody gets hurt when we take energy,” he promised.
“Just so nobody says I tried to mislead you or anything. But it’s not like the Dark Mirror Court goes out of its way to pick fights with anyone. Unless it’s a hostile lizard person, but. I really just wanted answers. I’m big into those local folklore stories. Really wanted to figure out if this was a hoax or not, but--you know. It’s Destiny City. Could have been anything.”

Silistra listened to everything that Arnica said and it made sense and she nodded to the things he said. "I like dark stories, so I was curious about the lizard man." She said softly. She turned her head to the side "Why is there no energy beyond the mirror?" It sounded like one of her spooky novels "A world dying.. " Holding on to something that was dying and should be cut off like a diseased limb not cared for as it killed the rest of the body. She decided not to voice that part since she knew it would not sit well with Arnica clearly they wanted to save their home not let it die.

“Well, there’s energy. But. It’s a huge mystery,” he said, and sounded excited about it. “Nobody really knows, not even older members of the Court. It’s all just bits and pieces that we’ve put together. So, it’s pretty interesting. And every now and then we find a new puzzle piece and get to pull it all together. It’s like a living adventure--something the rest of the world hasn’t figured out yet.”
He grinned. “Like lizard men. Only, probably a little more long term.”

Silistra considered what he was saying it made sense in a way and she nodded listening. "Well I don't think the lizard man is going to make an appearance and once we were past the accidental attack this has been a nice visit." She said softly "But I think I should be going."

Arnica let out a little laugh and nodded. "Yeah, ah..." He glanced back at the mirror and, content that it didn't seem like there was anything jumping out after him, he stood up and held his hand to help her up, too.
"Sorry, again. You be safe out there. I'll have to find you later and see if you ever found him."

Silistra was nervous at their parting, she hadn't expected him to say he would seek her out again, after all, they had only met this once. Why would he seek her out again? "Umm ok.. bye.." She said at a loss and she nodded once more before going. (Fin)
