Quote: Art Alive (1): Destiny City tries to keep a clean, upstanding city, but sometimes you just can’t beat the taggers. Graffiti art has been popping up around the city but it seems like it’s always moving from place to the next. Literally. The art is up one day and gone the next--on a completely different wall. Some people think it’s an elaborate prank--except, sometimes, in the dark of the night, you can see the art stretching from one wall to the next. Or, maybe it’s just your eyes playing tricks on you. No one would believe you if you said you saw artwork moving, anyway. Belmont did not have any appreciation for art, not really. It’s not that he didn’t have pieces that he thought were nice, it’s just that he couldn’t understand the meaning of it. It wasn’t like numbers, which had a place and purpose and value, it was just…there.
On the wall.
He wasn’t even sure if graffiti counted as art, but it was hard to say that this mural thing wasn't pretty.
It just seemed like the talent was wasted. The city was just going to clean it up--it wasn’t supposed to be there. Whoever had painted it hadn’t even put it in a place where it wasn’t causing problems--it’s like they’d gone out of their way to deface the building.
...Which was going to give his cousin a heart attack since it was on his storefront.
Belmont had been out patrolling and gotten a little peckish, and he knew he could just go bother Arias for something to eat; even if the bakery was closed, there were snacks inside. And he had a key.
...Except, there was a giant creature painted all over the front of the bakery, stretched over the signs, the windows.
The longer the Jupiter page looked at it, the more he realized he was going to have to do something about it. His arms were crossed over his chest and he was making a list of everything he was going to have to go buy at the store to try and clean this up before the bakery opened in the morning; he was so lost in thought that he didn’t even seem to realize there was another energy signature so nearby.

Silistra had been working on her confidence since her mock battle with Ogygia, she still didn't like battling, but she did want to protect the city so she was out patrolling the city. She was hurrying along and didn't realize another page was nearby when she was distracted by a huge piece of graffiti all over a business. She tumbled into something falling to the ground. She attempted to get up but wasn't sure if she would be able to manage it. "Oh goodness, I am so sorry." She said in a rush of words.

Belmont made a startled noise as he toppled over, and at first he thought he’d been attacked so he started flailing; his elbow caught the cement, and maybe the page, but all he could think about was how disappointed Sessrumnir would be that he’d spent all this time practicing to get stronger and just got knocked over by--
By a page who had apparently run into him, completely accidentally.
He stopped squirming and calmed down, carefully rolling away from her so he didn’t hit her again. “Hey--it’s okay. I’m sorry, did I hit you? --Are you all right?” he asked, temporarily distracted from the art on the building.

Silistra blushed as she realized she had bowled down another knight. "I'm so sorry, I'm fine." She blushed more "I think you took all of the damage. I could bandage your wounds if you need." She said softly, so mortified. "I'm so sorry, I was so distracted by this terrible destruction of property. " She said looking at the graffiti. She was an orderly sort, she enjoyed art but this was not art to her, this was just a mess that had ruined a nice building. "I think we would need a lot of stuff to clean this up." She said in thought. Her mind turned to the problem at had.

Belmont blinked but then relaxed a bit when it appeared that she had the same idea that he did. “I’m okay, I don’t need any bandages,” he promised; he pushed himself up and brushed himself off before he offered her a hand to help her up.
“I was thinking the same thing,” he said, nodding to the building.
“It’s a cute bakery,” he said, feigning ignorance of just how familiar he was with it. “I was thinking I might run to the store and see if I can pick up some cleaning supplies. I know we’re Knights and all--” he paused. “Oh. Yeah, hi. I’m Belmont, by the way, nice to meet you. But. We’re supposed to keep the city safe, and I was just thinking, you know. It’s not always youma and monsters and people pulling starseeds. Sometimes it’s just,” he shrugged and looked at the graffiti.
“...People.”

Silistra nodded "I'll help you clean up this mess if you like, it's a shame someone would do this." She shook her head sadly. She smiled a little when he introduced himself. "I'm Silistra. Nice to meet you as well." She said softly. She nodded "Yes people can be very hateful." This was terrible. She then thought she saw the graffiti move a little. She rubbed her eyes and looked again, but it was still again. She shook her head thinking it was a trick of the street light.

Belmont blinked at this and then smiled, because--wow, that was impressive, that there was someone that was willing to go out of their way to help without any gain to themselves. He wasn’t sure he would have done it if it wasn’t his cousin’s bakery, so it meant a little more.
“All right,” he said, and exhaled. “Wish I had cleaning magic. I’m gonna head to the store and get some cleaning supplies in a minute.”
He moved closer to the graffiti and went to pick at it with his nail to see if he needed a normal sponge or something stronger and--it moved.
It was silent, but the whole thing shifted; Belmont was too close to notice, but the art twisted its head to look down at him, and shivered, and just as he turned to look at Silistra it picked up its leg as if to keep it out of reach from him.
He hadn’t seen it move, he was too close. But she could have seen.
“You want to come with or wait here?”

Silistra let out a little epp when the graffiti moved even more and she was clearly able to see it. "I'm not sure that soap is going to help with this.." She said softly "It just moved I'm certain of it this time." She said. She didn't think it was an aftereffect of being attacked in the alleyway the other day but she couldn't be sure. "Would you come back here and watch with me a moment.." She said just as softly. She watched the wall once again, were monsters able to do such things as to sticking to walls?

“Eh...what?” Belmont said, and seemed visibly in disbelief, but…
Okay, he could humor her. This was Destiny City after all.
He stepped away from the building and looked at the unmoving art work--at her, and then back again.
“There’s not some projector then, right?” he asked, but just as he turned to look behind him, he saw it; he saw the way the graffiti seemed to wait until it thought they were both distracted and it moved--climbing quickly around the corner of the building and slipping into the shadow of the alleyway.
Between one blink and the next, it was gone, and Belmont’s mouth hung open.
“...What.”

Silistra sighed it would figure that the art piece would play still as soon as she got the other person to look at the thing. It was just like a cartoon. She was shocked when the whole thing got up and ran away around the building. "Oh goodness." She said softly "Umm should we go after it?" She asked she had no experience with something like this, at least the bakery was alright now the damage had got up and walked away. It was the strangest thing that she had seen since she had become a page of Saturn. "I guess we don't have to go shopping after all.." She said and shook her head.

For a long moment, Belmont just stared at the building.
“...I have no idea,” he said after a few seconds. “On one hand, apparently it didn’t cause any damage. And, it left. It didn’t try to attack us, so maybe it’s not hostile? Maybe it’s just weird. On the other hand…”
He exhaled and scratched his chin.
“...I guess it could be dangerous. There’s a lot in Destiny City that I don’t understand. I don’t know. I haven’t heard anyone talking about any moving art in the City? ...But it didn’t have an energy signature, it didn’t seem evil. I...don’t know. I’m sort of inclined to just let it go.”
It felt like chasing away a wild animal. It hadn’t been intimidating, but…
“I don’t know, what do you want to do? If you want to follow it, I’ll go with you.”

Silistra shook her head "No I haven't. I think you are right and we should leave it alone for now, I haven't heard of art attacking anyone and if we corner it, it could attack us defending itself, perhaps it's better to leave it be for now." She said softly.

Belmont watched for a long moment and then scratched his chin and sighed. “...Yeah,” he finally agreed. “Leaving it for now...sounds like the smartest idea.”
It was something he hoped they didn’t regret later; he didn’t want to find out that it went off to hurt someone because they hadn’t taken action now, but…
If no one had been hurt yet, maybe this was just misunderstood, mistaken identities.
...Could something like that really be non hostile? He didn’t know.
But he wasn’t strong enough to be taking on giant wall monsters.
“Thanks for being willing to help out, though. I appreciate it.”

Belmont looked on for a few seconds more, taking in the sight of the now spotless bakery front.
"Yeah," he agreed, rubbed the back of his neck, and then smiled.
"Guess I should, too. I'll see you around, Silistra. Be safe. Hope we get to run into each other again. Under good circumstances."
