THE PIERCING SUN
The people and the earth are one!
Chaos withers under the Piercing Sun! MISSIONThe Piercing Sun Brigade believes Metallia, who feeds on stolen life, is a serious threat who must be stopped before she consumes the world. Its founders include ex-Negaversers who are intimately familiar with the well-oiled machinations of the enemy, and they intend to use that knowledge for good. Their mission is to help form an organized resistance against the Negaverse and continuously work to develop effective tactics on as many fronts as possible. While they can't predict who will strike the final blow to Metallia, they're doing everything they can to make that moment happen. Defeating the enemy is the ultimate goal. STRUCTUREEx-Negaverse members of the Brigade may find its way of doing things a bit nostalgic. It's centrally organized, sets a high standard for members, and has a clearly defined set of expectations, including -- sigh -- regular written reports of your activities.
Skepticism and open-mindedness are equally valued. Mutual aid is emphasized. Civilians are regarded as a necessary component of the resistance: they are victims of exploitation who have the right to self-defense.
New members are briefed on basic objectives (2 posts down) and given pamphlets describing the Piercing Sun's mission, which they're advised to keep stored in their subspace. They're also given a first aid kit to store in their subspace and signed up for first aid / CPR training if they aren't already trained. Members are advised to engage with the enemy cautiously and avoid fighting unless it's necessary.
Other details can be established based on feedback and future RP outcomes. LEADERSHIPAsphodel Knight is the leader of the Piercing Sun. Maintaining that position will require him to respond well to members' critique and demands. The leadership structure will change if he fails. Until that happens, he'll act somewhat as an NPC to facilitate Brigade operations and plots I have planned. His leadership style generally involves making directives based in the input of members, though he also has his own priorities that come up from time to time.
At the same time, everyone is expected to develop leadership skills and take the helm in situations they have expertise or specific investment in.

PRIORITY OBJECTIVES This post will occasionally supply prompts in the form of instructions provided by leadership to other members. These can be assumed to have been given at a recent meeting, and set the current priorities for the Brigade. They can be used to advance the Piercing Sun's story, facilitate character plots, establish a Brigade-level response to a meta development or event, and so on. Sometimes they'll link to an ORP, event, another plot thread, etc. Priority objectives can be set by any member, and character plots that originate outside the Brigade can become priority objectives as well. I'll probably put some forms up for this later; for now just PM, Discord DM (cibarium#5203) or quote me in this thread if you want to add something after the Brigade is ICly established!

BASIC OBJECTIVES The Piercing Sun's basic objectives provide plenty for members to do when there's no priority objectives to focus on. They were partially developed in secret by Uranophane and his research team before he escaped the Negaverse, and completed after discussion between Asphodel and founding members. It's not required to specialize in any one of these areas, but you can if it suits you. These are suggested ways for a Knight to individually represent the Brigade in RPs, plots and events. I'll revise this based on member feedback, and can scrap it entirely if it doesn't come into play. 1. AGITATE!Disrupt energy gatherings, corruptions, and other Negaverse operations on sight, as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Work to keep key locations in the city as free of Chaotic activity as possible.
Identify potential Negaverse defectors, verify their suspicions, and encourage them to leave.
Combat the Negaverse narrative with compelling evidence at every opportunity.
Affirm civilians' right to freedom from Chaotic exploitation at every opportunity.
Spread our Brigade's name and mission far and wide! 2. EDUCATE!Arm allies and civilians with knowledge of how the Negaverse operates as an organization.
Assist in training exercises that prepare allies to make strategic decisions against Negaversers, in combat and otherwise.
Train civilian volunteers to recognize signs of Chaotic activity they can detect (such as the sudden fatigue caused by energy drains) and how they can respond.
Offer advice, support and resource information to potential defectors.
Exchange information freely unless otherwise informed.
Maintain an open mind and learn as much from others as you possibly can! 3. ORGANIZE!Pursue alliances with Courts, Brigades, Mauvians and individual actors, and actively communicate with them in response to Chaotic activity.
Practice mutual aid. Offer the Piercing Sun's assistance to allies and civilians in need, and don't be afraid to ask allies or fellow members for help.
Invite purifying Negaversers and interested Knights to join the Piercing Sun. Any member can recruit a new one, no restrictions.
Utilize all resources and information available to develop better strategies and tools against the enemy.
Encourage unaffiliated allies to join or form a Court or Brigade. Assist them in the process if they need it. Each new Court and Brigade is another wand or banner to wield against Chaos!

HEADQUARTERS AND MEETINGS The Piercing Sun will have scheduled gatherings at their HQ, every other week. These are usually handwaved unless a plot requires it, but you can generally assume that communication and planning regularly takes place there on schedule. Since Asphodel wants to make the most use out of a secure space they have limited access to, these meetings can run a few hours or longer, with time set aside to take breaks and do individual work. The meetings always end with an optional support group for ex-Negaverse members that promises complete confidentiality. Other details on the HQ will come later; I have some ideas I want to check on first.
