She was hungry. She was always hungry again, and the only thing she ever wanted to do was eat Starseeds. It had been bad before...but now it was so much worse. There wasn’t a break. Nobody to hold her back with hugs or gentle words...and she hadn’t told anyone that she was hungry either...it was none of their business...that and the fact that this hunger had nearly lost Tinaksite her best friend meant that...she would keep this secret hunger...or she would die trying.
The night had been good for the finding of starseeds, so far the captain had consumed two, and there was a third she had her eyes on. It was simple really, a quick teleport behind the young man and a hand thrust into his back, drawing out the fragile twinkling gem.
The whole thing was made easier by the waves of energy that were washing through her body from the first two, and as she drew the third to her lips, she paused, feeling someone nearby. Very nearby.
Ah. Perhaps she could make it four tonight.
Perhaps if she were feeling...benevolent...she would turn the fourth one in. But.
Perhaps she would simply be hungry after the fight.
Turning, Tinaksite let her eyes fall on the page, and she smiled, slipping the starseed into her mouth and raising her eyebrows in a clear gesture of challenge.

Belmont didn’t really want to be out tonight; he’d had a strange, pulling sensation all evening and the restlessness just wouldn’t stop. He’d thought about going home, but every time he tried, he wound up walking in another direction, just a little faster.
He hadn’t meant to head towards a Negaverse Agent.
He hadn’t meant to see her eat the starseed.
His heart stopped and he felt his starseed crumble in his chest, as profoundly as if it were the one she just devoured right in front of him.
He felt fear and panic and anger in a way he struggled to process.
His weapon was in his hand, as useless as it was, and he looked at her frantically--angrily.
“What the hell are you doing--why did you do that?” he demanded.
He sounded more frantic than hostile, but he didn’t know what to make of her; his mind was reeling and it felt like things were both fastforwarding and paused at the same time.
He was disoriented--and she hadn’t even done anything to him.

Oh! She had ruffled him! Tinaksite felt a thrill of joy at that fact and stuck out her tongue, the starseed still glowing faintly on it, and then withdrew it back into her mouth, making sure he was paying attention as she shattered it with an audible crunch. “I was hungry. It makes me feel good.”
The rush of energy that washed through her was...ah. Utterly intoxicating as always. It never seemed to get old...but it did lose its potency quicker each time...but having three so quickly…
The Captain felt as though she could rule the world.
“I am still hungry. I will eat yours next. Or perhaps I will just give it to my superiors as I am supposed to do.”
Her flail was summoned to her hand without a second thought and she lunged at him, swinging the smiling white orb right at the Page’s head. “Since I am so kind, I will knock you out first. You should praise my kindness.” And her strength. And everything else.

Belmont’s chest seized again and when she lunged he felt his whole life flash before his eyes. He hadn’t wasted his time as a page--he’d been told to train, to be careful.
He hadn’t taken all those self defense classes just to let someone take his starseed. Again.
She talked about taking starseeds so easily, she ate that one so easily.
Like she didn’t care that someone had just died as long as she got a good snack.
He moved, avoiding the weapon, but it was only just barely. She was fast; he knew he was in trouble. In the rush, he did the only thing he could think of; when she was close, he drew his knee up quickly and tried to hit her in the stomach.
...But she was faster than him. Stronger. Capable of pulling starseeds, and cold-hearted enough to eat them.
He didn’t know what he was supposed to do; he wasn’t strong enough to beat her.
...Or save that starseed.

The rush of the three starseeds was...well. Honestly becoming a little overwhelming, and Tinaksite missed her attack, the flail hardly even grazing the page’s shoulder.
The world seemed to spin slightly as she stumbled with the force she had put behind the attack. “You..Stay still. I am…” Still hungry? No, she really wasn’t. She felt a little overwhelmed, if she were being honest.
“You. I will take your starseed another time. Consider yourself lucky tonight. I…” Am dizzy. She was very dizzy and her heart felt as though it were going to pound right out of her chest. “I need to leave. I have other...business...other…”
She shuddered, her vision going black for a moment as she stumbled again, and finally, Tinaksite swallowed hard and teleported herself out of there. She couldn’t focus. Couldn’t think.
Perhaps she was coming down with something...perhaps she should simply sleep...yes. That would...be best.
