Bibliophile. Defiant. Cunning. Kind. Burdened. To the public and his adoring fans, the sleepy head bibliophile Solati is a gentle and polite young man who possesses a quiet loyalty and endearing diligence. The best myths are those built upon reality, and the image he presents is not one that is wholly false. He is only harder than he presents himself to be, with a deep seated anger that simmer just below the surface. An obsession with success would not be a wholly inaccurate description for this virtue. Severe and serious, he moves with careful cunning and the resolve to use any means, underhanded and noble, to ensure his freedom and his revenge.

He is tired. Despite being so young, he is oh so very exhausted with his life. He'd never received a reason to live aside from the innate desire to. His father wants him, but only shows it in the most distant manner. His stepmother outright wishes him dead. However, still he lives on, even when he received only the bare minimum of motivation to. For being shackled and beaten down by his stepmother for so much of his life before he finally realized, he thirsts for freedom just as the caged bird sings.

There can be nothing else, be it gods or devils, that can matter to Solati any more than fighting and working as hard as possible for his life. He vehemently refuses, be it per his father's instructions or in his mother's memory, to be pawn or plaything in the schemes of others.

                  _BACKGROUND x x x

                  ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

Solati was born to immense wealth and power. His father, one of those who moved the world in broad daylight yet out of the public's eye, levying large amounts of financial power to maintain his position. His mother, a nobody who appeared out of nowhere with an angel's beauty and voice. The father claimed love at first sight with the mother, though Solati has his doubts on this claim, and the two bore the child they named Solati Invictus Krone. Solati, by his mother's choice. Invictus, by his father's. Krone, naturally, his paternal last name. His mother, however, did not have the chance to call him by the name she had picked out. She died in childbirth, leaving Solati all alone.

A man like his father could not remain unmarried for long, and while Solati was still toddling, growing into his mother's good looks and scarlet locks like fire, his father brought a new wife into his home. Wife, and not mother. Though the expectations at face value were that she would become Solati's new mother, those who knew the kinds of dances played around men like the head of the Krone family knew better than to believe that such would happen, especially when it came to women from families of special standing as Solati's stepmother.

Solati was not neglected, his father made sure of that, but his father was a busy man who could not take the time to raise his son. While provided with all of the necessities, it fell on Solati to mature quickly and handle his matters on his own, both present and future. The animosity he faced from his stepmother was immediately obvious, and once childish pettiness wore off in the face of a nearly fatal "accident," he came to realize why she hated him so much. He was the first born, the one who would inherit his father's wealth and power, so naturally, he stood in the way of the plans she had for her little heirs to be, Solati's younger siblings. Her hate fueled his and her ambitions were mirrored by him. Outraged by the injustice that was his life, he quickly grew a thirst, almost obsession for control. Control that he realized he never had, yet also knew that he would need to gain quickly if he wanted to live.

He was only just starting high school when the realization dawned upon him. His dad provided a bodyguard for his protection ever since that incident, but Solati started to move immediately for his goals. His step siblings had their mother and her family as their supports in their endeavors. Having nothing of that sort, just a father who only half paid attention, he could only earn it through levying what advantages he could. He had the looks, the voice, and all the voices that a teen like him would have around him. Idols, fame, these were the routes of power that caught his eye first, and while they wouldn't carry him where he needed to be, they would form a solid foundation of capital and social wealth that he could build upon.

In his sophomore year, 15 years old, Solati got his foot into the industry. At 16, he was scouted, offered, and accepted a contract to become an idol with a prominent brand in the entertainment industry. By the time he was 19, he'd hit a surge in popularity that can only be described as national fervor. Alongside what seemed like a golden age of rising stars--the mysterious Wren, the smooth singing Greyson, the stoic Kazuki, and others--the ever so genteel Solati had a nation's eyes trained on him... and that was when he chose to announce his retirement. Citing a desire to focus on college, he "graduated" from his job as an idol and focused on college and further expanding his influence. With so many eyes on him, he had planned to make leaps and bounds in his education and economic decisions, drawing the interests of the right people he could use to slingshot himself into the corporate side of the entertainment business.

That was when Sapphire pulled a move he had a hard time explaining away, a much more difficult time explaining than their first bold move. To start from the beginning of this rising entertainment superpower's strange dealings into his life, Solati first came into direct contact with them as he approached his 18th birthday. They offered a lucrative deal for him to change companies, one that he chose to turn down in favor of maintaining a public image as a loyal idol. Besides, as his company's biggest playing card, he had a small wealth of opportunities all for himself, being able to spread his roots wide into all sorts of entertainment opportunities that an equally successful idol at a company with multiple jaw dropping talents like Sapphire wouldn't get.

However, Sapphire wouldn't let go, and immediately after rejecting a follow-up offer that came shortly after his 18th, he received a call from his company. They had chosen to trade him to Sapphire in exchange for... Well, the details didn't matter. In the end, when Solati ended the call, he could find no other explanation then... Sapphire had found a way to fulfill his unspoken requirement of maintaining his public image. That was simply ludicrous, though, and conspiracy theories such as these were unimportant to think of. If his company was offering him to Sapphire, then there was no harm to his reputation. He would bid a sorrowful farewell, while keeping on a hopeful smile for the opportunities that the company that raised him would provide him with this move.

Fast forward a year to Solati announcing his intent to retire for college. It was allowed in his contract with Sapphire. The company had tried to ensnare him into a more binding agreement, but he had seen right through it and, with unsettling compliance, were more than happy to amend the contract to the terms he wanted. They had to agree. The morning after the announcement went public, however, his manager presented him with a new offer straight from the higher ups, one that completely aligned with the hopes he had advertised to his adoring fans, "to return in a more meaningful position where I can help young idols achieve their dreams like I had." A position as Assistant Manager of Sapphire's Singing Department. The wages were competitive for an entry level position, yet everything else was but. Full time, accompanied by an appropriate increase in the wages. Tuition fully paid. Flexible scheduling to accommodate his class schedule. Even college credits! Of course, only applicable to certain classes, but those were restrictions set by the school. Not Sapphire.

The amount of effort to keep him in the company flabbergasted Solati. He had pulled no strings of his own to accomplish this, and there was little reason to believe that he would hold this much value as an entry level employee. However, suspicions aside, this opportunity was just too great to pass up. He accepted, of course, but kept his eyes peeled for anything else that didn't make sense. He wouldn't be one to be caught flat-footed in a scheme.

A year of working at Sapphire Industries as an assistant manager passed without incident in this manner, and he continues to work at Sapphire Industries while attending university to complete the courses that don't accept work credits. Halfway through that first year, he moved in with the actor Finch, who he had worked with prior. Platonically, of course, and the bodyguard his father had hired for him, Kelev, accompanying him.
