Shurelia

Name: Shurelia
Nicknames: Reli, Relli, Princess, Pancake, Sweetness, Stinkybutt, Floofinator, Relligator, Rellybelly…. And more
Pronouns: She/Her/Floof
Style of Guardianship: A bit standoffish, it takes Shurelia a bit to warm up to her senshi. But when and if she does, she is a bit of a... well... stalker. Are they warm? Do they have a sniffle? When was the last time they went to the vet, they seem to be crackling and popping an awful lot for a human.
Preferred Communication Style: Relli is most likely to keep in touch via text or video chat. Outside means danger, and while she will wander out as she must to ensure the safety of her senshi, it is not at ALL ideal.
Hobbies:
Pros:
Cons:
- Staring -- Not to be confused with being observant, Reli is known for her ability to stare at people (HER people preferred, of course, though others are fine too) unblinking for far too long, only to be startled when they move and jump about a foot in the air. What thoughts are going on behind those large, feline eyes? Well- if you hadn’t scared her, maybe she would remember!!
Primping -- Reli is a cat. A very floofy cat. A very well-groomed, clean-footed cat who disdains all things nasty and filthy. She does not like being brushed by or having her claws trimmed by others, so she is very careful to ensure that at all times she meets her own rigorous standards of cleanliness, and avoids as many risky behaviors (that may require her to ask for help) as she ‘paw’ssibly can.
Dust Baths -- Don’t judge.
Pros:
- Never gonna give you up Loyal -- Reli has a very large, tender heart. Those who find their way into it will find a sweet, trusting soul who won’t hesitate to stand a little bit behind them, maybe between their legs, backing them up and cheering them on. Maybe puffing up to try and add a bonus to intimidation checks when that dog from down the street comes barking, or the neighbor’s snotty cat tries to step on turf that doesn’t belong to them. She will absolutely offer to taste test food for her friends, just in case it’s poisoned or something, too. Especially if it is a baked good.
Well this is weird... Attentive -- While her hobby of people-watching does not actually mean she is paying any attention to them, Princess is very good at picking up small cues in body language that indicate something could be off. Maybe it was a rough day at work and you’re emotionally drained, maybe you have a headache, maybe your irritable bowels are making you irritable- but the smallest flinch, wince and grimace are being catalogued, and Reli is going to help you through it. If she had the ability to carry around a backpack with essentials, this Guardian Cat would have everything from sunscreen to Benadryl, to hair ties or a spare hairbrush. Not to forget a mask and hand sanitizer!
Cons:
- Have you triple-checked those numbers? Anxious -- While some would call Reli’s caution a virtue, praising the fact that she is careful and makes decisions after a lot of thinking, they neglect the fact that some of those decisions come after an amount of time that could be considered crippling. If something bad is going to happen, Shurelia has already predicted it, dreaded it, and made plans to run away from it. Not plans to get through it, or work around it; she has made plans to run away, run away- and no plans for what to do after the running stops! This also causes her to be incredibly cautious with new people, typically coming across as cold and unfriendly until she knows someone well. However, once she knows them she will not hesitate to use them as a safety blanket, personal bodyguard, servant, or trusted backup.
Supreme Sense of Self Superiority Sensitive -- Shurelia is, truly, a Princess. Some people have a resting b-ch face; this Princess has a resting offended face. Perhaps someone tried to touch her feet, or help groom her when she was already looking PURRfect; perhaps someone saw her trip over herself, or caught her missing a leap that she had made a thousand times before? No; they caught nothing. She was doing it all on purpose, to make the newcomers feel better. She strikes pre-emptively if caught making a mistake, either running away and hiding (because the mistake was so grievous she can just- never go back to that location again. Ever.) or loudly proclaiming her own perfection by declaring “And that’s NOT how you do something. Do you see now? Don’t do it like I just demonstrated, do it properly, like I do.”
