Sava let her knight form slip away as her and Melz walked away from the hive of aliens and order members and made their way towards her apartment.
She had moved out of The Trio’s basement a few months back, not wanting to keep being the fourth wheel, though still visited often, and sometimes stayed the night when she was lonely...even if it was just to cuddle with Oreo. And maybe Priam. And eat Sterling’s baked goods and Yu’s...food. Anything. Everything.
God it was so good.
Melody hesitated, glancing at the blonde beside her and reached out after a moment, looping their pinkies together.
“I don’t really want to start the heavy discussion until we’re back at my place, so what should we order for food? You in the mood for anything? I kind of want Mexican...or maybe like. Wings or something…” What she really wanted was to know what the hell that whole meeting was and what they could do to…not let this foolhardy plan happen but…
Alas. That was far out of her control at this moment.

Einhornhohle waited until they were no longer within sight of that strange barrier before following Sava's lead and finally powering down. Call it paranoia but with all the strange s**t happened around Destiny City, having aliens know what she looked like while not powered was not something she was interested in. Still, when the mantle of power that came in the form of a long purple dress was replace by normal cloths, Melz let out a sigh; glad to no longer have to worry about all the signatures converging on one location. It was oppressive, suffocating and made her worry that they were all but a beacon for any wondering Chaos who happened upon the hill-side location and honestly, it made her feel all the more thankful when Sava suggest they go somewhere else. A soft brush against the side of her hand, and Melz nearly pulled away had she'd not first looked down. Brows pulled together in a puzzled expression it took a second to register the gesture. She smiled then, feeling a wave of familiarity and nostalgia wash over her; looping pinkies was something she often did with her oldest brother, the one who often had the responsibility of picking her up after school fall into his lap at the last minute. Her hands much smaller than his and so they walked together much like this. It was oddly comforting, made her feel more at ease with the situation. A reminder that despite all things they'd be moving forward with this whole alien thing together. Melz stomach growled rather loudly then. A sweep of pink raced across her face and all she could do to hide the embarrassment was to look the other way as if something interesting had caught her attention. "Honestly, either of those sound really good right now. Whichever is either quicker or closer works for me." A big burrito or chicken garlic parmesan wings and a pizza would be perfect about now.

The sound of her friend’s stomach growling made Mellie grin. “Sweet. Pizza and wings it is then.” She fell quiet until they got back to the apartment, and quickly opened the door, allowing the blonde to go in first and following after a moment.
When the door was shut and locked, she made her way to the overstuffed couch and sank onto it, pulling her knees to her chest and giving a very long, very loud sigh. “Food first. Then discussion time. I feel like that walk here was utterly impossible, and now I am so confused with my thinking I don’t know what to do.”
Mellie drew her phone out, pulling up a delivery app and scrolling to her favorite pizza place, she got a large cheese pizza and a side of buffalo wings for the two of them, but handed the device to Melz in case she wanted something else too. “I just. Don’t get it. Aliens. Honest to god, aliens...of all the things. You live in this city and think you’ve seen it all...but then you realize you really just haven’t and life is utterly insane.”

Melody accepted the phone and added some garlic parm boneless wings and some red pepper flakes to add to the pizza. "Honestly, I feel like I should be surprised. But-" she sighed, handing the phone back to Mellie. "I feel kind of numb." "Life was simpler before I picked up the lantern. Easier to just ignore the news and just go about my day. But ever since learning about magic, finding out I have a Wonder, and all of the random invasions and unexplainable events that come around every year." Strange happenings in the reservoir, the Dark Mirror and the gauntlet not to mention the shadow beasts from last year. "I guess it was only a matter of time before aliens showed up." If chaos wasn't enough let's add really tall pastel-skinned beings from another world. "I mean, why not."

She snorted and nodded. “Why not. God, Melz. I wish I could take things so casually...I’m a little envious of you.” Melody added a large tip to the order and sent it on its way, sighing softly. “I don’t...like this. Something about it...you know the whole...too good to be true line? Like...I feel that a lot of people in the Negaverse are going to get hurt...and quite frankly, I hate it. I might not be a part of them anymore...but if something goes wrong, if it destroys the chaos and that destroys the people…”
Mellie drew in a long slow breath, rubbing her face. “They’re just people, you know. People infected by something that it’s so hard to fight against...Some aren’t involved because they want to be...and when they give you more power, they give you more chaos...it changes you. God. I could see…maybe the lieutenants being spared if this magical energy beam works. They don’t have such a big tie...but...the Captains? Generals? God, my former...General. Lover. Whatever you want to call her...I worked so hard to protect her…”
Her voice trailed off for a moment. She had wanted to purify, but then I got the bug put in my ear...and I tried so hard to forget about her so I didn’t ******** up her life too...but. God I don’t think she’d survive if the chaos was just ripped out? You know?”
No. Melz wouldn’t know. Neither of them would know. This was new, uncharted waters. Nothing that could be reasoned out.

"Honestly, I guess my jaded point of view is mostly derived from my ignorance. Pretty much everything I know of the war or of the Negaverse if from what you've told me. Otherwise I never really had much contact with them before we met." It was as they were that very day. Got off work, powered up some place secluded then retreated to her homeworld because she was too tired to go home and wanted to stay some place safe and or beautiful for the night. "A few years ago I got attacked by a youma. Come to find out my intern at the time was the Senshi of Doves, Sailor Phact." Ironic how she went from being the supervisor at the theater to the one needing lessons once they left the safety of the building. "Can't say she was really forthcoming with information. If anything the only advice she gave me was to make friends." A shrug for the thought, "Not exactly something I had time for and once her term with us was over that was the last we spoke." Caught sight of her once but thought it'd be best to let sleeping dogs lie. "Never introduced me to anyone that could explain this Knight stuff." Then again it wasn't really her responsibility, was it? Not like she was a leader in any of this; perhaps was short on friends herself. "From what I assume, you have to be willing to be purified; or ask for it. These aliens and their plan sounds more like Negaverse's way of forcing the decision on someone. I just- " Melody drew in a deep breath, unsure if she was making any sense with her ramblings. "It sounds like their methods are exactly the same and I find it difficult to condone one while condemning the other." "I don't think the ends will justify the means."

“It didn’t make it sound like they were going to purify them...when Cosmos purified me...it was freeing...she…” Melody shrugged. “I don’t know how to describe it. It was warm and safe. What they were talking about is just...eradicating the chaos completely...and it sounds dangerous and I highly doubt it would work like they hoped. It would cause a lot of deaths…”
She frowned slightly at the story her friend told and huffed. “You have me now, Melz. I’m not going to go anywhere. We’ll explore this life together if you want to.” Mellie hoped she would want to. They were close. Ein was her favorite patrol partner when she went out with others, and she had been to the Page’s wonder so often it felt like a second home.
“It seems like you followed that advice, even if your first and best powered friend was a scary General who was utterly enamoured by you and your homeworld.” Wiggling her eyebrows, Melody laughed and sighed softly. “...It’s just so much to think about. It kind of scares me, if I’m going to be honest. I agree, I don’t think the ends will justify the means...and the idea of the ends...are terrifying.”

"I have a feeling she would have balked at me for making friends with a General," she nudged Mellie with her elbow playfully. "Honestly though," tone more somber now, "I don't regret it. Taking you to my wonder. I admit I considered leaving you there because I was terrified you were going to take my starseed once we got back." Kind of hard to overlook the strength difference between them at the time and the spear she wielded. "I'm glad I didn't." Retreating to her wonder gave Cavansite the ability to open up without the fear of being watch looming over her head. Allowed her the time to just simply be; to think and speak freely. "Even now, I don't think I'd be aware of the aliens had you not called me to the hillside." Melz took hold of Mellie's hand and gave it a squeeze. "Thank you." Since purifying she definitely had her back which meant a lot. "One way or another we'll make it through this. The only thing we can do is try to save as many people as we can from the fallout." Until they had more information it would be unwise to suggest that Sava seek out old contacts in the Negaverse but once more was revealed then perhaps it might be offer a chance for them to purify willingly before something catastrophic happens.

“I doubt she would have balked...but I see your point...and I’m glad that you didn’t just leave me up there too. Because I would have totally become a ghost and haunted your wonder forever and it would be utterly miserable for you to ever go there again.” Melody grinned, her eyes sparkling rather wickedly, squeezing back, pleased that Melz had taken her hand.
“I would have come and told you about them. You’re my partner and my best friend. I wouldn’t have let you just be blindsided, so...don’t worry about that.” Melody fell quiet then, taking in the last bit of Melz’s words and humming thoughtfully. “Yeah...honestly...I’m half afraid of what’s going to happen...is it selfish to say that I kind of want to just...hide on one of our wonders when they fire the laser? I don’t want to be involved...I’m scared that it might target me too...what will happen to those who have already been purified.”
She swallowed and shrugged. “...It’s just a lot. But...You’re right, of course. We just have to figure out how to save them...and if they’d even want it…”

Melody shivered at the thought of being haunted, Save the hauntings for Saturn Knight’s wonders, please. While she’d ever actually met one in person or been to their wonder, Mel did have a vague idea of their sub-factions theme after being teleported, or abducted, to various places without her consent along with other powered individuals; Negaverse Agents included. “Ultimately it will be their decision. As much as I’d hate to see it happen, there are no doubt some in the Negavers who truly believe in the cause and would rather fight and die honorably than dare switch sides.” Die a hero as opposed to turning traitor and run out of self preservation and a desire to live. Granted, there were always other facets they may not be considering. Such as agents who haven’t powered up in months, or even years… If they’re not actively in uniform, how would this plan impact them? Would they just drop dead on the street as if they’d suddenly had a heart attack? Surely that couldn’t be the case otherwise it would cause a city-wide panic as theories of an epidemic, a virus or plague, was sweeping through the streets, killing people at random. “I’ll be honest, I was not prepared to deal with aliens. Would have been happy if they remained an Area 59 conspiracy theory. We already have youma to contend with. They are proof that life out there truly exists, who is to say that something didn’t follow them?” Another troubling thought that Melody wished she could take back.

She hummed softly, in agreement and some pity. There were plenty of people in the Negaverse who believed in their cause…the General Sovereigns especially...Axinite would rather die than purify, she was sure...but...he would be so much happier out of all of it, she was sure.
And Hessonite would be so lost if she lost her memories again...her memories were her life.
“...Removing their choice in the matter just isn’t fair...I agree...but…” Melody’s nose wrinkled and she looked at her friend with surprise and some dawning horror. “...Like what? What do you mean follow them? Like...more aliens? God, let’s just...not...think about that. We have these to deal with, and anything else…”
She shuddered. “...That’s too much for right now.” Her mind could only handle one major crisis, there was no need to throw in a hypothetical one as well.
“I mean, I doubt we have to deal with them unless something goes wrong or they reveal that this was all some horrible trick...hopefully...they won’t...so we can just live our lives as we have been doing.”

“I hope you’re right.” her voice, however, sounded unconvinced. Mel really didn’t want to be the Negative Nancy and decided to not comment about whether something went wrong or if the plan went off without a hitch, the way they’d been living their lives would change. No matter which way the coin fell, the fall out would be catastrophic. If they failed, if chaos was somehow alerted to this plan, then the war would become that much more bloody, deadly even. Assuming they succeeded, lives would be lost. Be it memories and identities, or bodies to be buried six feet under. Identities are often kept a secret and they may wake up some morning and find out a co-worker, a friend, or even a loved one is suddenly gone. It was a sad thing to consider, but no matter how many times she placed the scenario over in her head, Mel couldn’t find anything good about it.

“I normally am.” Mellie gave a little grin and hopped up when she heard a knock on the door, stretching and giving her friend a reassuring smile as she went to go and get the pizza. It wouldn’t solve the issue at hand, but it would help. It would bring some comfort, and sometimes, that was all that could be asked for.
All that could be expected.
