"BRO~"
Ruvik burst in to Roman's apartment, phone in hand, typing a reply back to someone while rushing over to his brother. Text message sent and phone pocketed, he excitedly draped an arm across Roman's shoulders.
"My coworker just messaged me - that ramen truck is at the park. Wanna get some noods for dinner?"
He knew his brother liked some good ramen. This ramen truck was said to have some of the best, but it was hard to locate, and they kept missing it. Now that they had a location, there was really no time to waste. Ruvik looked at his brother expectantly. When had Roman ever said no to some tasty ramen? When had he ever said no to some not so tasty ramen?
Time was ticking - they didn't want to miss it again!

When his apartment door slammed open, Roman just put his stylus back in it's place and turned to the intruder with an amused, but exasperated look on his face. He loved Ruvik, he did, but sometimes he wished he would knock. Luckily he had only been in the process of thumbnailing.
He perked up at the words 'ramen truck' and it got him an eager nod. "Hell yeah, let's go get some noods!" A simple man of simple pleasures. Reaching up, Roman patted Ruvik's cheek before getting up and grabbing keys and his wallet.
Shoes were slipped on at the shoe rack, just some Crocs. Nevermind the fact he was also in a pair of grey sweat pants, and just a tee that said 'BDE' on it.
"Let's go! Maybe they'll have the seafood one. The one with the octopus rings in it?" God he loved octopus in his ramen. Hair in it's usual half up bun, messy and unbrushed for a couple days. Oh well. It was night. Evening. Whatever.
"I needed a break anyway honestly. NDA s**t but uuuugh." Sometimes he wondered why he wanted to draw comics.

"Dude, you deserve some noods with all the late nights they got you doin'," Ruvik said as he waited by the door.
Looking at his reflection in the glass of a picture on the wall, he ran fingers through his own hair. Being only slightly more put-together than his brother, Ruvik had on a simple pair of jeans and a dark hoodie with some band name on the front. He...might have still been in his house shoes, but they were passable for regular shoes at least.
"I'm right behind you! I could go for some sesame miso ramen, myself."
Ruvik was fond of the thicker noodles, for sure. Even if he wasn't the ramen connoisseur his brother was. He was glad to have his brother around to do things with, otherwise he probably wouldn't go.

Did he ever deserve this ramen. Luckily he hadn't eaten either.
Finally getting out of the apartment building, Roman stretched himself out in the evening air and took a deep breath. Yep. Much better than his apartment. Maybe he should clean that soon... If he could detect the difference. Ah well.
"Okay, so, is it the one that offers sides, too? Like, can I get a steam bun?" Red bean steam buns were a great dessert for after ramen, Roman found out. It was almost autopilot, walking to the park. He did try to get out of his house at least a few times a week so he could see the sun, get his groceries. Ruvik made him get out more some weeks than others, like tonight.
A corner here, walk along the sidewalk there, passing alleyways. It wasn't a horribly long walk.

"I'm not sure. I think so - it's the one everyone has been raving about, so proba-"
Ruvik's reply was cut off by a racket in the alley they had just passed - the sounds of a feline in distress and clattering noises. Ruvik's teal eyes glanced with alarm and inquisition at his brother, to the alley, then back to his brother again.
Sure, Ruvik wanted to do something, but between the monsters that plagued the city, and his own hesitancy to do anything in general without backup or a push...
"Should we....?"

The sudden noises and caterwaulings of a cat caught Roman off guard. He did jump toward it, tensing up, hands going out in front of him like he could actually catch hands.
Since they were together, Roman nodded. It couldn't be one of the monsters, could it? He'd lived here for so long and never encountered one himself.
"Yeah. I got room if we need to foster it," he murmured, obvious hesitance in his voice. Ah well. There was a cat that needed help, and they were hardly heartless. So, with that stated, he peeked down the alley, shrugged and took the lead.
"Here kitty, kitty, kitty... You okay?" Maybe it had a can stuck on it's head or something.

Ruvik nodded at his brother, and tenatively stepped towars the alley, which was pitch dark and foreboding. The stench of stale water and something a little fowl within....
-
Pravoski had thought he had lost this youma in the sewers, but thinking wasn't his strong suit. When he had pulled himself out of the sewers and on to the sidewalk, it was with the monster on his tail - its slimy, sludgy claws swiping at him. He had run into this alley, and not being as familiar with the topside as he was with the vast system of sewers below the city, found himself at a dead end. He had hopped on top of a trash can, which loudly overturned when he tried to jump from it, on to a window ledge. The noise had attracted the youma, and it gave chase. He laser beamed, he hissed, he yowled.
It was those yowls which had attracted the not!twins attention. Hearing the voices of people, his ears perked. Pravoski had his back arched as the youma creeped closer. He could sense magic inside of the humans who he could now see at the open end of the alley... It was so dark though, with the large sludge youma blending in to the deep shadows at their end of the alley, that the men probably couldn't see them. Pravoski knew he had to make a run for it, so with another hiss and a laser beam which did little to the youma, he somersaulted over it and made a mad dash towards the men, then past them, calling out;
"Follow me!"
The youma screeched and turned to follow the cat...and its new prey.
-
Ruvik jumped aside as the cat dashed past them. Had....had that cat just talked?
He looked at his brother with confusion written on his face, before the loud screech from within the dark alley met his ears, and there was no time for questions - he grabbed his brother's wrist and ran, following behind the orange and white cat. He really wished now that he had put on proper shoes.

The stench hit his nose, and then suddenly there was a talking cat and an unholy screech. The hair on the back of his neck, and on his arms stood straight up. His heart lurched. This was not good. Being yanked, Roman ran, wishing he put his Crocs into off-road mode. s**t, s**t, s**t! One flew off and so he just kicked the other off, now running bare feet behind Ruvik and ....a talking cat? Glancing behind him, Roman could see something chasing them. It was chasing them and was.... was it gaining? What shape was it? He couldn't quite make it out. It didn't really matter. It was death. Death shape. Not friend shaped. "What in the comic book hell is this?!" Yeah they were real, but this was too real. "How the ******** do we get away from this?" He had to ignore the rocks and uncomfortable things digging into the soles of his feet. For once Roman was glad he walked around barefoot a lot; he did have some cushioning in the way of callouses built up.

Pravoski glanced over his shoulder at the men behind him as they all continued to run - do doubt about it, they were senshi. Unawakened and older, but short of running in to another member of order as they tried to make their escape, his only hope. "This way!" The cat yelled, leading them down another alley, "Here take these!" The star on the orange and white cat's forehead glowed, and two identical pens appeared. "And you-" He looked at Roman, "Merrick Power Make-Up! and you-" To Ruvik this time "Haldane Power Make-Up! Do it quick! The youma will be here any minute!" -- Ruvik followed the talking cat in to the alley, turning to look behind them as if expecting the monster to pull a scooby-doo villain and zoom right by them, but even though it had been gaining on them, it was apparently a little slower than he thought. Turning back to look at the cat, as the star on its head started to glow, he gave his brother a 'WTF BRO!?' look, then back at the cat that had just magically manifested a pair of fancy looking pens!? He promised he had not done any drugs. He was a good boy, and most modeling agencies ran tests for those. So why was this cat talking? Glowing/ Making magical artifacts?! Don't tell him all that magical space terrorist stuff in the tabloids was true, was it!? Skeptically, doubting this was real and he wasn't just having a food-deprived dream on his couch and had never really gone to ask his brother to get noodles, he took the pen and looked it over. 'Haldane?' The ******** was that? Surely they were being pranked.... -- The cat then seemed to bounce from foot to foot, sensing the youma getting closer. "Come on! It will be here any moment!!"

Roman gave Ruvik a mirrored expression of confusion and disbelief, but also, what the hell were they supposed to do? He knew things like this were possible but to him and Ruvik? The hell? They didn't sign up for this! With a frustrated groan, Roman scrubbed his hands through his hair, the bun knocked down before he just took the pen that was in front of him and stared at it. "We got nothing to lose, bro! Kinda dire straights!" With that, Roman repeated the words, though there was not really too much conviction behind it: "Merrick Power Make-Up?" With a bright flash of light, and he was sure there were sparkles, he found himself in his powered form and even more confused than before. First of all, where did the pen go? Second of all, ew, why white? White wasn't a color he wore a lot of. "Uuuh?" And with that, Merrick turned back toward his brother.

Ruvik followed his brother's lead. Indeed, they really didn't have any other choice but to do what this talking cat said. It was absurd but this was Destiny City - absurd things had been going on here for years, and the government really didn't do anything about it. So - if you can't beat them, join them, right? "Haldane Power Make-up.." Ruvik said with a sigh, not knowing what to expect, but somehow still doubting anything would really happen, and they were just being punked. Until the slights and sparkles started. Once the light show had died down, he looked from himself, to his brother, then back to himself again. Well this was....something. But what good was a change of clothes going to do? Still bouncing from foot to foot, Pravoski nervously looked from the entrance to the alley where a shadow was starting to loom, back to the senshi. "A-alright, now when the youma comes, you gotta attack it with all you've got! You'll find the right words inside you!" The shadow and stench were now just around the corner...

When Ruvik's... Nope, Haldane's light show was done, Merrick stared at him and pointed with a huge smile on his face. "Dude, even now!" Who knew they'd look so similar even like this?! Their life was just one giant party after another, it seemed. They were just different colors, that was the main difference. Damn, why didn't he get the darker green? Ah well, bro had the best fashion. Then the cat started talking again and bright eyes looked to them before squinting. "What's that even mean? Stop talking like Yoda, I don't know.... We're just supposed to fart out these words or something?" He was now looking up where the cat was, his heart hammering in his throat.

Fate had a sense of humor, and Haldane could appreciate that. He would appreciate it a bit more if they weren't in danger. Pravoski eyed the shadow inching closer, then looked back at the twin senshi with wide yellow eyes, "Look, You are the senshi of uh, uh Doubt," he poked a paw towards Haldane, "And you are are-are are the Senshi of Suspicion. you uh, You're supposed t-to fight the evi- the uh.. Uh..CHAOS! And um.... The guardian cat, tripping over his words and he frantically searched for them - because words were hard - was interrupted by a lough shriek. The youma was now completely eclipsing the alley where they had come in. Haldane turned quickly to the shriek, and stumbled back a stop, grabbing on to his brother's sleeve, "Uh, I'm not so sure about this, bro..." Aww look. Already feeling that sphere of power spirit. "uh.... Haldane," a glowing circle appeared on the ground around the three of them, "wave of doubt?" As he said that, he thrust out the hand that wasn't clenching his brother's sleeve and it looked like something tried shooting out around them from the circle, but quickly dissipated in to sparkles and a faint mist of water. Well that sure didn't work.

Merrick watched as Haldane tried to summon his magic. The man's eyes got really wide when it shot out, but then looked super confused once it dissipated and he made a questioning sound in the back of his throat. "That uh.. Was that supposed to happen?" Well, maybe it was his turn. He swallowed down the fear churning in his stomach and stepped in front of his brother. "Merrick Watching Eyes!" Came out of his mouth before he knew what he was doing. Both hands came out in front of him and then... nothing. Not even a blow in the wind happened. What good was this when it wasn't working?! Were they really that useless? Bright aqua eyes turned to the talking feline for some explanation, but they were really running out of time. "I better be getting punked right now. I'll fight it. I'll throw hands." He said that, but his voice betrayed him. He was scared. The youma creeped closer and closer. Still, he was going to take the brunt of the attack first. He could protect his brother this way, right?

"Oh no...." The orange and white creamsicle of a cat then stammered, "I, uh, umm... RUN!!!" Then, tail puffed, the furrball began to run to the other, open, end of the alley. Pravoski had known it was a risk to awaken two late-bloomer senshi - that there was the possibility that their magic would backfire, but he had hoped that it would do so in a good way. The risk was calculated, but boy was he bad at math. Haldane couldn't disagree with the cat on one thing - they needed to run. Whatever was going on with them now, whatever so called 'powers' they had just been given, it wasn't going to help them right now. "C'mon, bro! We'll figure this out later!" If there was a later. He grabbed Merrik's sleeve and took off, following the weird magical kitty that had gotten them in to this mess.
