Their orders were to learn as much as they could. Caelyna was eager to follow those orders, and to meet and establish diplomatic relations with the Senshi that they were meant to ally with. So the Cadet took it upon herself to go for a little walk through the city. It was late at night, and she wasn't bothering with her disguise; ordinary humans probably wouldn't be out this late, and she still wasn't used to looking at herself and seeing one of them.
Everything about the city was fascinating. Even this late, she could hear the rustlings of the environment; wind between buildings, strange animals in alleyways that seemed attracted to trash.
A noise attracted her attention, and she turned into the nearby alleyway, bending down. There, huddled in a ball, was a tiny creature--skinny, ragged, four-legged and orange and stripey, with little triangle ears. It stared up at her with wide eyes, like a Mauvian but missing its star. When she reached for it, though, it backed away, looking as fearful as its little face could manage.
"Oh, no," she said, quietly, "come her,e little one, I won't hurt you."

Gelria had been sitting on the top of the building, brooding, as was his habit sometimes, but the appearance of a girl with long blue hair--no...the appearance of a blue girl with long blue hair…
The senshi had no idea of what had been going on, he had been busy lately, what with moving out of his home and dealing with his…
Well. everything. He hadn’t heard about the aliens, and quite frankly he was better off not knowing about them, but the fact that there was one right in front of him now was confusing and...very unsettling.
He wondered for a moment if he hadn’t just cracked under the pressure of everything that was going on, but decided that such was most likely not the case, and once that had been decided, Gelria jumped off of the building, landing softly behind the...well. Whatever she was.
“It’s a cat. Poor thing looks terrified…” Gelria couldn’t blame it. He was feeling unsettled too by the presence of the...person.
“...What the hell are you?”
Subtle wasn't anywhere in the Eternal’s vocabulary...not when someone was blue with pointy ears.

Caelyna blinked, and turned to look up at this strange....he had to be a Senshi, didn't he? With the wings, and the white uniform, and everything? And he was in white...
Surreptitiously, she fiddled with her ComTech to check its readings. No Chaos auras according to the GPS; that meant he was probably safe. So she gave him a polite smile, but didn't move away from the cat.
"A 'cat?" Is that what you call Earth Mauvians?" She asked, interestedly. This was important information! She liked information! "Is it scared because it's small and alone?" The question seemed idle, but it was serious. The poor creature didn't seem to have anyone to protect it; perhaps being alone made it wary.
Caelyna could not imagine being alone like that.
Her translator glitched, slightly, on one oft he words he used--place of eternal torment?--and she wrinkled her nose, confused.
"What does a place of eternal torment have to do with me? Or what I am? I don't understand," she said. But she could sort of piece together the request, so she slowly stood up, trying not to startle the cat too much as she did, and turned fully to face him. "I am Caelyna, of the Velencian Vanguard. We have come to your world to survey it, and to help you eradicate the ones you call the Negaverse."

Gelria hesitated, frowning and watching her with an expression full of confusion and just a little amusement at her definition of ‘hell’. Though that realization was a little slow in coming...when he did realize...he almost laughed. At the very least there was a soft snort and he shook his head. “I’m Gelria. The senshi of Cinnamon. I don’t think we have Earth Mauvians...but yeah, I guess that’s one way to look at it. Um. What’s the Velencian Vanguard?”
His brain was having trouble keeping up, this was all so…
...It was a lot.
“Wait, what? How? Eradicate the Negaverse? Are you serious? Sign me up. I’m in. Do you need help?”
He was eager suddenly, excited.
Gelria held out a hand to Caelyna. “If I can help you eradicate them, let me know. I despise chaos with everything I am.”

Caelyna nodded, making a thoughtgul face. Cinnamon...like the spice that had been on those strange and wondrous "pretzel bites" she had found at the mall with Fae-Fae.
"Well, Gelria of Cinnamon, it's a pleasure to meet you," Caelyna said, and she folded her hands behind her back and gave a partial, brief bow. "We of the Velencyan Vanguard are our people's primary defense force--and we are also explorers and researchers, tasked with gathering resources to benefit our people." She was proud of herself, of her unit, of the work they did. "A small number of us have been selected to follow our Commodore and some of his most trusted Commanders to this planet."
And he was so enthusiastic to help them! Caelyna produced her Source Stone, holding it up for him to see.
"We need to collect energy--only from people who are willing to give it, of course--to charge the weapon that or Commodore and Commanders want to use. So! If you'd like to make a donation of some energy, that would be helpful!"

Gelria looked at the stone, tilting his head slightly and giving a small nod. “Energy? Yeah I can do that. What kind of weapon is it? s**t, I’m excited.” He looked pleased and kept his hand extended, as though that would be the method for taking energy. Perhaps it was like giving blood. “...Should I roll up my sleeves for you? Or...how does this work?”
Regardless of how it worked...if it got rid of chaos. Of the Negaverse...it was worth whatever the cost.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you too, by the way. Congratulations on being selected to help, that must be pretty special.”
She seemed like such a sweet thing, and he hoped she wasn’t selected to simply be cannon fodder.

Caelyna produced her Source Stone with a bright smile and an eagerness. This would be the first energy she was giving that wasn't her own! "Thank you!! We really appreciate the help," she said, and she touched the stone to his arm. "We usually use these as a sleep aid; drain your own energy until you're too tired to do anything but curl up and go to bed. It's very helpful on long missions, or in situations where your personal schedule may not match the place you're visiting," she explained.
Not that she knew any of that from firsthand experience, but Velyria knew!
"Not that I'll take that much from you," she reassured him. "It'd be rude, ot have you that tired when I'm sure you still have other things to do. As for the weapon...I only understand some of the idea," she demurred, scuffing her foot against the ground, "but the idea is that we'll be connecting eith a dead comet passing throguh Earth's atmospher ein a few weeks. That energy, plus what we've collecte,d willb e channeled through the decice to create a powerful blast that will target the Chaos entity known as Metallia and obliterate it."
She lifted the stone away from his arm, content with the amount she'd drawn.
"Thank you, by the way. It's a huge honor for me to have been selected. Actually, they brought quite a lot of first-time Cadets," she said. It was a but strange, she supposed, but the Commanders and the Commodore obviously had a reason for that.

Gelria let his arm lower after she moved the stone away, nodding at her words and thinking them over. “And you’re sure it will work? Have you collected enough energy? If you need more, I can meet up with you again.”
God, it was like a dream. Chaos obliterated? Completely like a dream. And one that he truly wanted to come true.
“As long as you’ll be safe in the blast, and it won’t hurt any of you.” He gave a smile, feeling just a little tired, but still utterly exhilarated by the very idea of whatever weapon these...people had.
“Though, maybe they just thought you would be the most friendly for the Earth, that could be it too. I know a lot of senshi...myself included aren’t really thrilled with strangers or things we can’t explain...or anything that has a taint of chaos. But you. You’re bubbly and sweet and say you can eradicate it, so you’re good in my book.
He smiled warmly and reached his hand out again. “If you’re sure that’s enough, that’s fine, but I’m really okay to have more taken. I want to be useful.”

"Oh, we'll be collecting until the day the comet arrives," Caelyna said, nodding firmly. "So I'd be happy to meet up with you again! We'll certainly need more energy."
This was so lucky--that she'd run into someone so eager to help. She knew not all of their erstwhile allies in the White Moon felt the same way, and many of them were in fact opposed to what the Vanguard was trying to do, which puzzled her. But Gelria wasn't like that at all! Which was very beneficial.
Also he was quite handsome, but that was a matter for...someone else. Not her. They weren't supposed to get attached.
"We'll be safe, I'm certain. Our Commanders and Commodore would not endager so many of us, when we are the Vanguard's future." She said it with absolute certainty, and she felt that certainty. "But it's understandable to not trust strange things. Especially when you've all been fighting for as long as you have. We really do want to help, though, so! I'm glad you want to help us, too."
She gave him a smile. "You've given plenty for tonight, I promise. But I'd love to meet you again, and I can take more then."

“Yeah. Gladly. When is good for you?” Gelria smiled softly, lowering his arm and looking her over once more. “I could come tomorrow if you wish it. I’ll come every day if it would help. I want the Negaverse eliminated.” And if he could help by doing more than giving energy, he would.
“Plus, if you have me coming to give you energy each day...think of how good that will make you look to your commanders and commodore!” Waggling his eyebrows, Gelria grinned, nodding at her. “Double win. Make you look good and help get rid of chaos. I call that fighting the good fight.”
God, he hoped she wasn’t just someone to sacrifice. He had seen far too many movies and shows where that happened...and now he was feeling rather protective over this sweet, pretty alien girl. “Where should I meet you tomorrow? Here? Or somewhere else? How about the park across the street. I’ll bring you something nice to eat.” He loved food, after all...and she was new to Earth so...why not? Besides, if he ate, perhaps she could take extra energy.

"Um!" Caelyna tapped her cheek, thoughtfully. "We could arrange to meet here every other night, for the next few weeks? Or...if there's somewhere else you'd rather meet, as long as you show it to me, I can find you again."
She paused.
"The park across the street sounds lovely, and I would love to try more of your Earth food! So many people have brought us edible gifts, and we appreciate it very much."
He was right. If she brought back lots of energy, if she worked hard and contributed to this project, she would make Velyria proud, make Lyndin proud, make Caedus proud--Caedus who had suffered so much and come back to them.
"So, um. I'll see you tomorrow nigh,t int he park." She tapped her cheek. "Do you think it will be safe for me to appear as myself, or should I come in my human guise?"
Had she done it? Had she made a friend with one of their new allies? Certainly they weren't supposed to get too close, but a little kindness couldn't go amiss.

“Human guise? You can look human?” He looked so pleased. “Can you still borrow my energy while you look human? We could do almost anything if that’s the case. Since I’m human.” He didn’t even hesitate, but powered down in front of her, extending a hand. “My name is Caleb when I’m not Gelria. And, yes. I’ll see you tomorrow night in the park.”
He was very much looking forward to it.
“I can take you out for dinner if that would please you. It would be fresher than bringing food to you. And we could have a chance to talk.”
Perhaps he was getting a little ahead of himself, but it sounded like a good plan to him at least. “We’ll do pizza tomorrow, if you’re up to it.”

Caelyna lit up, and fiddled with her ComTech to activate her human glamor.
"Our technology allows us to hide when we're moving among populations that might not be familiar with us," she said, and she spun around, to show him the whole look. She had changed very little--enough people here had bright, colorful hair that she'd kept it, and kept her eye color, but she'd given herself dark skin and hidden all of the obviously inhuman features. She extended her hand and shook his. "It's very nice to meet you, Caleb. You can call me...Lina, I think? I'm not sure if...Caelyna...would be too strange of a name?"
"And I would love to be...taken out to dinner," she said. "Is that an Earth custom? It isn't one I'm familiar with, but it sounds very nice. I also don't think I've ever had pizza, but it sounds quite wonderful."

“You’re very pretty in the guise of a human too, Caelyna. And I don’t think it’s too outlandish of a name, but I’ll gladly call you Lina if that is what you prefer.” Caleb was beaming at her, pleased that she had told him of the plan, that she had agreed to dinner. That she had agreed to pizza for dinner.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, my friend. How about at four thirty? That way we’ll have enough time for dinner and whatever else we might want to do?” If he had his way, he’d show her everything beautiful about the planet. All of the best features of the earth.
...What a crazy thing to think about. Showing an alien your home.
He couldn’t stop the grin that spread across his face. “After the Negaverse is gone, I hope you can stay for a little while, if not...well. We’ll just do everything before you leave!”

Caelyna ducked her head, color dusting her cheeks a little red, and she was glad she'd chosen a darker skin tone because it hid the heat in her cheeks. "Thank you. I appreciate it," she said, and she hoped that wasn't too awkward a response to a compliment. "I would like to be Lina, with you? It's such a pretty name."
She looked up, and nodded.
"Four thirty!" She said. "I'll see you tomorrow night! And...I hope we have a little extra time, too. I can't imagine our Commodore and our King making us rush home--they must be meeting people here, too, that they'll want to get to know."
This was...wonderful. A real friend, and he was so sweet--her first one on Earth!
"I'll see you tomorrow, Gelria. It will be lovely."
