When I die, I don't want to rest in peace I want to dance in joy, I want to dance in the graveyards, the graveyards And while I'm alive, I don't want to be alone mourning the ones who came before I want to dance with them some more, Let's dance in the graveyardsThe song rang out in her head as she stepped foot in the meeting spot. Honestly graveyards at night were so serene and peaceful. No one here to judge, no one here at all but the graves keeper who wouldn't be out for a while. Eris looked different than the last time Daire saw her. She had finally become an eternal senshi, having earned her wings in the week since she met him. They looked really nice. Honestly she felt her best now. The eye didn't bother her as much, and she held herself a bit taller. It very well could be the boots she sported, but she just felt more confident and powerful. Still, she waited, not really sure if this thief would actually show up. Moving her way through the paths, the gravel crunching gently under her boot as the last summer wind blew through the air. It'd be autumn soon. She loved autumn because of all the scarves and sweaters that rolled out every year. Pausing, Eris looked to this one gravestone. It was a small angel, a child, kneeling down on the ground, touching it like she was talking to whoever was below. Looking at the years, she could see it was only a child buried here, and her heart clenched. Poor thing. Barely had a start to the world when it was cut short. Maybe meeting here wasn't the best idea she's had.

If Daire was offended or alarmed by the idea of meeting in a graveyard he really didn’t show it. He was dressed only marginally better than he had been when she’d run into him, and it seemed like dark, nondescript clothes were just his chosen attire.
He had a backpack slung over his shoulders and a paper bag in one hand. In his other, flowers.
Daire had long ago perfected the art of walking silently, and no crinkly gravel was going to give him a hard time. He didn’t speak until he was reasonably close to her--but still conveniently out of reach in case he startled her.
“Oh, you dressed up,” he said, and it wasn’t a lie to say he was impressed with her outfit. He’d paid attention when they first met, of course he’d notice the change. He held out the flowers. “For your. And before you get any thoughts in your head, I did not pick these up on my way in.”

His footsteps reached her ears first, and Eris turned toward them, hands at her sides, standing almost stiffly. Meetings with others were always very hit or miss. It was either really relaxed, or really awkward. She prayed to whoever was up there that she wouldn't come across as stupid. Those words caused pale cheeks to flush and she shook her head, looking down at herself. "Hardly. I ...was promoted at work." That was the truth of the matter. She'd gotten herself a shiny new rank, and that came with more power and a new look. It was only a tiny bit flashy. The flowers caught her attention and slowly she reached for them, trying to bite back a laugh. It came more as an amused huff, but she shook her head a little. Eris brought said flowers to her nose to smell them and then let out a little sigh. "You didn't have to bring anything to this meeting. ....So thank you for these." She'd put them in the living room when she got home. "You look.... A bit more clean cut than I last saw you." New clothes, but still nothing that would get him detected. Smart.

"Well, I wasn’t working tonight, so. I did dress up a little bit.” It was impossible to tell if he was being serious or not, but he seemed to thrive on that.
He smiled again at her, obviously glad that she’d shown up.
This would have been a great place to send someone for a date when you intended to set them up.
“I hope you like them,” he said, nodding to the flowers. “I know I didn’t have to bring anything. But, I wanted to. Are you really not used to proper etiquette? I would think a Goddess is more used to tribute than this.”

"Not many would call me that. Only you, in fact. Besides, I work with my faction alone. No one I would call a friend." She shrugged. Eris spoke with little emotion about it. This was work. She wasn't here to make friends, anyway. There was a goal in mind when she donned her uniform, and it was serving her Queen any way she could. Emotions complicated that. She was better off without them, or so she always told herself. "But I do like them. Thank you." Eris brought them up to smell them, closing her eyes to take in the sweet smell. So fresh and nice. "So... We said we'd meet here to discuss things correct? Did you have anything specific you'd like to know?" This just felt so awkward to her. She wasn't good at this, even when she befriended Leander. She was bad at that too. Ugh.

Nothing about Daire said he was even remotely uncomfortable, and he crossed his arms and leaned back a bit.
“Oh, I can’t say I’m as interested in what you do as I am interested in you, but.”
He wasn’t completely honest; he did have questions, and he’d had plenty of time to think about them.
“What do you do? What’s your purpose? I mean, what’s the end-game for you and your ‘faction’?”
Daire didn’t seem to take things very seriously but he wasn’t an unintelligent man. There was nothing particularly shady about his curiosity--even if he had been willing to meet her in a cemetery.

How much should she tell someone who didn't really have a place in this war beyond being a tool to gather energy? She started walking, keeping her grip on the flowers loose so she didn't kill them. White teeth bit into her bottom lip while she thought. "These are all very good questions," she started, clearly thinking. "I ...was brought to this side of the war not of my own violation." One of her hands went to the flowers that covered her eye. "I know I gather energy from....you. Normal people like you, to give to our Queen." That's all she would say on that. "But we, the ones who have these." Her hand then went to the visible hole and crack in her chest, a smirk on her lips. "We're known as the corrupted. That's all you should really know. "Our end game is to bring her back." She thought. Honestly Eris hadn't asked about that, but it made sense. "The energy goes to her, and she will use it to come back to Earth and ....well, rule it, as far as I know." Did she really know so little of her own faction? Maybe she needed to make connections and get this information. "...At least this is what I think. We're not a very tight knit faction. We all know to gather energy and I know I didn't question things. I was more angry than anything, but there was little I could do in my situation." So she followed orders. Gather energy.

Daire followed her as she walked, and didn’t seem to give any indication that he thought she was crazy or lying to him. He watched as if she were explaining any other untouchable subject knowledge--something spoken of, but not within his grasp to fully understand. Like rocket science, or neurosurgery.
“Huh,” he said, thoughtful.
“Well, I suppose it answers some questions, but really, it just breeds more. Gathering energy, I get that. I mean, as much as ‘energy vampires’. But it’s not such a hard concept to grasp.”
That, he could understand. That, he might even believe in.
“Does your Queen have any credentials, or anything? Is she supposed to bring about unity and peace, or…? I mean,” he gestured to the cracks in her chest, “Sort of seems like you’re going for a ‘dark and evil’ vibe, but tell me that’s just a scare tactic to ward off your enemies.”

"I..." She paused, her voice, footsteps, and body language all becoming unsure. Eris' brows knit. He was asking questions she didn't. He would make a better agent than she did. Honestly the imposter syndrome was just proven to be right. An internal panic started to bubble right below the surface, and her eye wouldn't meet his anymore. Oh the urge to run to save face was strong. Or drain him to the point she prayed he didn't remember and flee. Maybe snatching his starseed.... Her fingers twitched, itched to do something. "I will have to figure that out." She sounded defeated. "I have been following orders since I was corrupted." Never questioning why. Just doing it. Following the motions so the punishments wouldn't get doled out. It's why her promotion happened without much ado. She barely registered to rank up. She did her job, never questioned anything, and kept her nose in her own business. She wasn't even really fulfilling her job as an Eternal senshi. Ugh, she really was bad at her job. "I suppose I'm not the well of knowledge like I had thought." Couldn't even answer basic questions. Pathetic. What was all this for?

“Hey, hey,” Daire assured, smiling. “Life would be boring if we had all the answers, right? Gotta keep us guessing, gives us a reason to wake up in the morning and ask more questions. No hard feelings, don’t look so down. You’re too pretty to be sad, especially on my account. I’ll ask other questions.”
He had a flashy, smooth sort of grin, that looked deliberately charming.
“Do you like what you do? --Or, no. Tell me what you do like to do. I want to hear about you. And your magic, and things like that. I’m interested in it.”
He gave a piece of himself, to reassure her that he wasn’t just here to interrogate her. “My grandfather was obsessed with old, enchanted artifacts. My parents thought he was crazy--everyone in the family does, really. But I think he was onto something. So that’s the mystery that gets me up and asking questions.”

His soothing was met with a look that was more surprised than anything. Interesting. Eris took a quiet, calming breath before considering his questions, and story. At least he offered up information on himself. It was a cute little story, and actually might explain some things about why he did what he did. "What... Hm. My powers. My powers affect the mind. The subject of my magic ...well, can not tell between friend or foe. They end up.. attacking the nearest thing. A person, a bench, a lamp post. It doesn't matter. The weaker the mind, the stronger and longer it happens." Even to herself, being subjected to her own magic sounded bad. "Mostly I try to use it to turn enemy against enemy if I'm teamed up on." Now to get to what she liked to do. "I think what I like to do... has nothing to do with this. I enjoy arranging flowers. I enjoy taking care of my koi pond. I like being constantly surrounded by music. The quiet hasn't been a friend to me in many years." Eris didn't sound put out or upset about it. It was just a fact now. "I like drinking beer while it's raining." Sharing her family stories would just bring up a lot of pain. She lost a lot of her connections when she was forced to join the ranks of Chaos. ...was there a therapist she could talk to? Self help group for force corrupted senshi? Ah. "What do you make of... the odd happenings that happen around the city?"

Daire nodded with interest as she spoke about herself, not just her ‘job’. “Oh, you didn’t strike me as a ‘beer’ kinda girl. The flower arranging and koi pond and magic threw me for a loop. But I like it,” he said, and cracked a grin that said he was enjoying her secrets and surprises.
“What do I makei of the odd happenings?” he repeated, to buy himself a few seconds to think about it. “I don’t know. You’re crazy if you believe them and crazy if you don’t, right? I know what they tell you on the news isn't the full story, I’ve seen enough out here in the shadows to know that. But it makes me wonder what they know, and who’s in on all of it. I’m not conspiracy theories, I just don’t trust that people aren’t going to tell you the story they want you to hear. What does the truth matter these days, eh?”
He shrugged. “I think if people with magic are fighting, there must be something worth fighting over. And, maybe it means my grandfather hunting for magical artifacts and being right about them isn’t such a crazy thought.”

"....Beer is cheaper than wine." It was true. She could literally afford any wine she wanted, but she liked to be frugal. Eris never knew when she would need to tap into savings. A flood, earthquake, something could happen to her house, her car. Then he explained how he looked at the war as someone not really involved in it. He had an interesting take on it. Especially with the bit about his grandfather's magical artifacts. Her ears were definitely open for more information about them. "I wonder if your grandfather knew what was coming." A hand went to her face and a gloved finger ran across her bottom lip as she thought again. "What kind of items do you have that are magical?" She might be able to place them, or at least take a picture of them and find a cat who might know. If it was related to the war, anyway. That would be something, wouldn't it? If he just had a random starseed, well, someone didn't do their job right. "I would tell you to just stay out at night, but the shadows hide secrets here." Monsters more like, but he was skeptical, so she wouldn't say that.

“Ah,” he said knowingly, and even if beer was cheaper than wine, he still couldn't imagine her as a beer girl. She seemed like she deserved exquisite things, to satisfy an exquisite taste.
“Well, unfortunately, I sort of rely on those shadows to get around and keep my own secrets, so I don’t suppose I’ll be able to keep inside so much. But I do a decent job of looking after myself. No one’s caught me. Yet.”
He winked, because he just couldn’t help himself.
“I don’t know if he knew what was coming, or if it was just an inevitability. Some of them--you’ll think I’m crazy,” he said, and cracked a grin because--well, maybe they both were. “Some of them seem like there’s something more going on. You can feel the energy around them. I’ll have to show you sometime, maybe. If you’re interested.”

The prospect of being shown this technology, these objects, definitely did interest the senshi. Greatly so. Still, Eris would hum and then nod as if she had to even think about it. For some reason she didn't want to seem too eager. "That... that does sound interesting." Objects with energy around them. Would they be useful to the war maybe? Was his grandfather's artifacts potential senshi or old Mauvian technology? That would be very interesting, to both her, and a few other people. Perhaps one of the Generals. "Besides, I do not think that sounds crazy. Why would someone like me think that?" Her lips quirked up again, meaning she was what normal people would find pretty crazy too. Pretty far out there from normal standards. She wouldn't be one to judge. Or maybe crazy found crazy. Who's to say really? "You... are still very intriguing. When you look for these items, what... do you look for exactly? How do you know what you borrow with no intentions of returning?"
