Both Cybele and Siegfried seemed not to trust the visitors from space...but Albireo hadn’t been able to stop thinking about them. Hadn’t been able to stop thinking of the plan...the fact that they could get rid of chaos in...in everyone...really destroy Metalia. They could all be free. All be safe from fighting...from uncertainty…
Perhaps it was foolish to return to where the Aliens were camped at alone but...she wanted answers. She wanted...reassurance that this would work…
And she wanted to see what it was that she could do to help.
It would be so nice not to be afraid. Not to feel guilty not to...have to hear about how the Negaverse messed everything up for so many people…
They could all be free.
The very thought took Albireo’s breath away, and she paused when she reached the area, hesitating and chewing on her lip before she poked the barrier, knocking on it a moment later.
Would she be able to just...enter? How did this even...work now?

The barrier was cool, and knocking on it felt like the equivalent of knocking on a thick window pane. The glass-like surface was effective in both concealing what was going on inside as well as protecting them from any unwanted guests--but it didn’t seem like Albireo was unwanted. A moment later, the glass rippled and Lyndin stepped out. He wore a complacent expression, maybe a bit tired, but there was nothing weak about it. He was a busy man and he was clearly taking all of this seriously. When his eyes landed on her, his expression softened a bit and he smiled. “Welcome,” he greeted. “You were at the meeting, weren’t you? I think I remember your hair. Forgive me if I’m wrong. Commodore Lyndin,” he introduced, and extended his hand in an effort to abide by Earth customs.

Albireo had knocked. Normally...most of the time when you knocked on a door, you wanted whoever was inside to answer, yet, the appearance of Lyndin made the senshi jump nearly a foot in the air, eyes wide in utterly unnecessary shock. “A--Yeah...I’m Super Sailor Albireo…” s**t. So it hadn’t been some kind of fever dream or mass hallucination...there was literally an alien holding out his hand to her...like some kind of trashy novel.
Her cheeks flamed with the thought and she took Lyndin’s hand and gave a short little shake. “I was in the meeting, yeah...I…” She chewed on her lip for a moment, and then just blurted out the first thing that came to mind. “Will it really work? Your plan? Will you really be able to do it? Can I help?”
God. She wanted to help. Anything to rid the world of the Negaverse...anything to make them safe again. Protected.
The utter eradication of all chaos…
It was like a dream.

Lyndin looked at her with a careful calm, like he was concerned that if he moved too quickly or spoke too loudly he’d spook her again. He shook her hand gently, carefully. If she’d closed her eyes, it might have felt normal--like he wasn’t a seven foot tall alien from space. “I didn’t mean to startle you, Super Sailor Albireo. I apologize. I appreciate your enthusiasm. I would not attempt a plan that I thought would fail,” he assured. “I’m sure there are a lot of ways for you to help, if you’d be interested. We’re looking for excess energy, for information. For anyone that might be willing to help us acclimate a bit to this world. I have some Cadets who have special requests. We have communicators--universal translators--that help us converse, but they’re not perfect. They’re greater flaws manifest when translating text. We want to improve the system, but we need someone who better understands it to be involved in that project.” He looked at her curiously. “Of course, we’re grateful for any assistance you can provide. How would you like to help?”

“I can help with energy, that should be a problem...and I’d love to help the cadets! That...sounds like fun, actually…” Albireo seemed to brighten just a bit with the thought. “I could help one and they could take some energy if they’d like? Kill two birds with one stone?”
Oh...wait that…
Albireo shook her head. “That’s just an expression! To take care of two things at once...I promise I won’t be taking your Cadet to kill birds! That wouldn’t…” She fell quiet and sighed. “I mean...it actually would be pretty human of me...but...I’m not going to. I can help with talking...I know words.”
...And couldn’t stop them very easily either, so it seemed.
Drawing in a deep breath, the senshi forced a smile. “Yes. I would like to help. Whoever needs it and with whatever they might need. If it would help your plan work...then I would be utterly honored to help.”
Then she could say she had done her part. She had helped to rid their planet of chaos...something her past self hadn’t managed to do.

Lyndin’s brows furrowed when she suggested killing anything, and he had nearly been about to insist that they weren’t looking for bloodshed. Her clarification made him relax and he nodded. “Well, if that’s the case, I’d be very appreciative. The honor would be all mine. Your enthusiasm is reassuring, Albireo, thank you. I’ve been worried about how we might be received, but your offer brings me peace. You don’t have to be so nervous about me,” he said, assuming that was the reason for her jitters. “I’d like to set something up as soon as possible. Would you be willing tonight? Or, we can set something up later. Whatever works best for you.”

“Can we set it up? I want to get some things together, that might be helpful for whoever I’m teaching!” There was excitement in Albireo’s voice now, and a new sparkle to her eyes. “I’m...always much happier getting to do something rather than just...not...I mean.” She shrugged and gave a little smile. “I hope whoever it is is nice, please. Nobody who’s too mean...not that I think you would have brought anyone mean! I just…”
...She was kind of soft, and if whoever she was going to help didn’t like her...well. That would be a problem for her wanting to continue to help, obviously. “Will they be the ones taking my energy? Or do you want some now? I can sleep before I meet them, that way I’ll have more for you!”
And the Negaverse would be stopped. Nobody would be hurt again. And she would have done something.
It almost made her feel a little drunk, and she enjoyed it.

“Fae-Fae is very nice,” Lyndin said easily. “She is hardworking and diligent. I think you will find her easy to like. I like all of my Cadets, but I can say that without any bias.” He reached for his Source Stone but considered it for a few seconds before he said, “I think it might be best to wait. At least, until after you’ve had a chance to meet her and maybe get things sorted out and settled. The Source Stones are a bit draining, you might feel a bit tired or groggy afterwards. But Fae-Fae is very competent, if you want to donate some of your extra energy, she is completely capable of helping. If you wind up worn out afterwards, you’re more than welcome to stay and rest with us until you’re feeling up to it. If that works for you, I can go get her now,” he offered.

Fae Fae! Oh that was such a cute name!
Albireo had to swallow back a squeal and nodded. “Yeah, yeah that’s fine! But, I’ll come by often, either to Fae Fae or to see you, and I’ll donate energy as often as you need!” Most likely she would offer more often than she should but…
That was all right. She could handle being drowsy. It was for a good cause, the best cause. “No, no I want to get some things ready! Can you have her meet me here at seven tomorrow? I’ll have things ready and we can get things done then! I want to be prepared before I meet her, and I want to be a good friend!”
She nodded to herself and seemed to ruffle up a little. “Seven tomorrow! I’ll be back, and I’ll help and donate energy, and it’ll be grand!”
Albireo gave a half bow, half wave and nodded eagerly. “Tell her I’m excited? Tell her...I’m really excited!”
She didn’t let Lyndin get another word in, turning and hurrying away. She had to get supplies. Treats for her new alien friend. Presents...and...had to do her best to make Fae Fae feel welcome. Which...she was. Undoubtedly.
