[list] [*] [i]Kayaking --[/i] Blame this one all on Cliff’s mother.  She introduced him to kayaking by way of a surprise white water rafting trip.  He did not enjoy nearly dying on the rocks, but he liked all the parts before and after the courting of Death.  There is something supremely calming about taking your little one-person raft out onto the water and just vibing along with Mother Nature.  Thus far he’s stuck to lakes and gentle rivers, but someday he’d like to go out onto the ocean.  Maybe at sunrise.  That sounds pretty zen.  


[*] [i]LARP --[/i] You wouldn’t think it to look at him.  Or maybe you would, but Cliff simply adores LARP.  He enjoys the role play aspects much more than the combat, but thanks in part to his boss Hamish, he’s getting a little better at swinging foam swords around.  So far his favorite characters have been the Goblin Wizard, K’rokk and Clan Fianna Werewolf, Howls Proudly.  It’s fun to pretend to be something so far out of the realms of reality.  And honestly, after a bad day?  It is [i]supremely[/i] cathartic to wreck s**t in character.


[*] [i]Food Preservation --[/i] We can thank Cliff’s dad and gran for this.  Ever since he was small, the two would take him out berrying and as soon as they got home, they’d begin the process of turning whatever produce they’d gotten into delicious pickles, jellies and jams.  Cliff associates such things with family and comfort and has continued the tradition as he got older.  Sure, it’s not something anyone would ever think of doing in this day and age, but Cliff loves it.  He makes an AH-MAY-ZING boysenberry jam and a mean pickled melon rind.[/list]


[b]Pros:[/b]


[list][*] [b]Do Not Focus on the Finger or You WIll Miss All the Heavenly Glory[/b] [i]Balanced --[/i] For all of his quirks and oddities, Cliff is surprisingly even-keeled.  He rarely loses his temper and does his best to see all sides to every argument.  Oftentimes, he is the calm eye to the storm that is going on around him.  If you ever want a softly serene presence to help you over a bout with anxiety or road rage, absolutely look Cliff up.  He’ll be happy to talk you down and get you re-centered. 


[*] [b]I Love You, You Love Me...[/b] [i]Affectionate --[/i] Whether you are a friend, frenemy or complete stranger, Cliff probably loves you in his own little way.  He just loves showering people in affection and care regardless of how well he knows them.  He is a hugger and a toucher, though if you aren’t into physical contact, he’s more than happy to bop you gently with a soft pillow.  Cliff just wants to reach out, hug the world, pet it softly on the head and tell it that it’s doing a [i]great[/i] job today. [/list]

[list] [*] [b]Happiness and Suffering are states of mind...[/b] [i]Put Upon --[/i] In spite of his good points, Cliff is easily annoyed and though he manages to hide it or even defuse it, he doesn’t always succeed and will often act very put upon and as if everyone is a massive chore to deal with.  It’s especially obvious at work, though.  Sometimes, Hammie is a [i]lot[/i] to deal with.  Especially when he tries to “help” Cliff with weapons work for LARP.  If you’re able to catch Cliff in one of these moods, you’ll be witness to sulking, snark and an oddly aggressive, over-exaggerated helpfulness.  Just as if Cliff is trying to show off just how much of a martyr he is for your sake. 


[*] [b]Never Try to Outstubborn a Cat...[/b] [i]Stubborn --[/i]Rock and Hard Place, please meet Cliff.  He will be your immovable object should he decide to dig in his heels and become stubborn about something.  And really, once that point has been hit, it’s best to just quietly give up and go do something else.  Cliff may come around eventually, but the longer anyone tries to argue or reason with him, the harder he digs in and refuses to change his stance.  It’s infuriating and beyond ridiculous, but that’s Cliff.   [/list]

Standing at a reedy 5’8”, Cliff looks as if a stiff breeze would blow him away.  However, he is stronger than he looks and has something of a runner’s physique.  His skin is incredibly pale and freckled and he has a tendency to sunburn easily.  His thick red hair is styled in something of a fluffy undercut and ice blue eyes watch the world go by.  Cliff typically enjoys jeans, t-shirts and his favorite pair of Converse.[/size]
