Suffice to say that the pale skinned alien was absolutely not over the miracles of this world. Between the sights, sounds, smells and pure volume of people around her, she couldn't help but concede that there was something rather special about this place. They were so free here, so expressive, and more than a few had meandered in such a carefree fashion that she wasn't entirely convinced that they knew what their purpose in life was.
Culturally speaking this world was very different than her own. Everything and everyone had their place at home, there were no secrets or surprises. In the grand scheme of things all had their use and all delivered according to their expectation. It was for that very reason that their home had managed to survive, their people had become more resilient and despite their many struggles they had moved beyond their original state.
...Or rather that's what she liked to believe.
Nevertheless the level of survivability upon this world that clearly existed with no singular goal in mind was in striking comparison to that of her own and it was unmistakable. Was there a reason that they had the capacity to function in this manner and still survive, was there a hidden secret in each of them that ensured that despite the lack of direction, the planet thrived? Was their chaotic demeanour a potentially contributing factor?
The young woman had far too many questions to be answered without exploring these in much greater detail. Until she could present further rationale in the form of a proposal to her superiors there was no use in going down that rabbit hole yet, but she certainly filed it away for later.
Instead, she cleared her throat delicately and adjusted her sunhat upon her head. It was a touch out of season but she had noticed that she wasn't completely out of place as there had been some individuals wearing hats. This afternoon she only had one specific goal in mind and that was to gather enough energy from as many individuals as possible with as minimal an impact as she could manage.
...Alas while she could draw upon energy from a distance (a skill she had at least practiced over time), that didn't necessarily mean she had mastered it completely and as she took a seat on the wall nearby, the little crystal disguised upon her neck, she was entirely unaware that it may have been absorbing a touch too much from those around her.
She had pulled her 'phone' from her bag to flick through it.
In her opinion her appearance was completely subtle and the place she had selected had maximum footfall given it was the route to something referred to as the 'entertainment district'. If it wasn't for the fact that as each individual passed her they went from boisterous to very tired, then this plan would have been perfect.
Fortunately if her situation did become dire she did have the capacity to run. She had followed the instructions before she left to a T; her phaser and her comtech was charged. If necessary she would teleport out, but surely she was blending in enough to be left alone... right?
Sadly for Valnyr, she was likely to discover that in Destiny City almost nothing ever went to plan.

Squire Imbrium of Castor had been made aware that she had missed out on the upper half of an adventure of a meeting; word of mouth spread quickly through Order, especially with a controversial offer that included aliens. The political science student was tempted to go and pay them a visit, after having heard that one of them was apparently a king, but the military was in charge of this whole operation, and they had said the aliens could basically punch straight through the planet and one-hit Metallica or something, which sounded sus, but if it worked that would be amazing, and she would never have to power up again. The day had been going according to plan- she would be hanging out with some people from class, being social, recharge some social batteries, mooch some free food, escape her parents and the constant job hunt- but then something had gone… wrong. The squire had noticed it first as her small group made to go towards this “hole in the wall” restaurant one of her companions had promised had the best kimchi she had ever tasted, and Pythia did like kimchi. They had passed a few interesting touristy sorts, and a woman in an unseasonal sunhat, when one of the people with Pythia had swayed, and almost fallen over. They had gotten her some water, waited there for a while, chatting, when another of their people had… fallen asleep. Standing up, he had simply blanked out, and then slowly slid down the wall, exhausted. And that was when Pythia began to notice it. That slow drain of enthusiasm, until here she was, watching her friend slide down the wall and wondering why she was too tired to go over and catch him. Instead, they propped him up on the ledge, and woke him up, offering him an energy drink. Nice and cool, for such a warm day. And while he was seen to, Pythia looked around for something else. As a human she couldn’t sense any auras, and she couldn’t power up here in plain sight like this. But she could watch, through tired eyes that slowly began to sag and slide shut, and try and identify… why they were all growing so tired. And at what point. This couldn’t be normal- someone around here was sucking away energy, and it was dangerous to those who were staying in the area. Most were staggering off, stopping by the store nearby and grabbing an energy drink on their way to go about their business, but others… Others were possibly almost dangerously tired, and that stank of evil. It also, however, stank of aliens, if the rumors she had hard were true. Everyone looked terribly normal, though. It was then that Pythia’s attention was drawn to the woman in the sunhat, who was still somehow on her phone, not at all bothered by the tired people nearby. Not at all tired themselves. And so, making excuses, Pythia slipped away from her friends- and it was Imbrium of Castor who returned, sneaking up on the sunhat woman from behind. No aura- nothing she could sense. So it wasn’t Chaos, then, right? “BOO.” She hissed angrily in Sunhat’s direction. “We need to have a little talk.”

She gave a rather undignified squeak as Imbrium seemed to materialise behind her. She hadn't heard her GPS ping in warning at all which seemed to be a little peculiar, but that was the least of her worries at the moment. Instead she was more concerned with catching her 'phone' as she fumbled about in a fashion that resulted in the thing regularly slipping out of her grasp - suffice it to say that Valnyr did not do well when surprised.
Perhaps she should work on that.
Nevertheless she did at least manage to bounce forward and in that particular moment, her forward momentum did assist her in pulling the phone to her chest where she hugged it for a firmer grasp. Unfortunately her sun hat was a casualty, tumbling from her head and promptly disintegrating in a manner that very much wouldn't have been considered normal. Ah, but perhaps playing with the glamour a little to much to implement a measure of 'realism' wasn't the smartest thing to do on this venture; after all, she had been meant to blend in and disintegrating hats didn't assist with that.
"It seems inconsiderate to leap out at people in that way," Valnyr replied, her voice high pitched and a touch disconcerted by her sudden visitor. Where had she come from, there had been no one of note here before!
On the plus side, Imbrium's sudden greeting did have the benefit of disrupting the poor alien's concentration for the time being and her source stone ceased to draw upon others in the area.

"It is inconsiderate," Imbrium agreed, face pinched and eyes angry. "Just like... whatever the hell you've been doing. Miss-or-Mister-or-whatever fake-hat." She pointed at the people who were 'recovering' slowly, more, now, with less energy being tugged from them. "Were you the one making people sick? You don't feel like a Negaverser. But you've been the only one not exhausted that I observed, which means I'm putting the blame on you." It would be unfortunate if this was a normal person though, but the way the hat had vanished felt... "I was supposed to be having a nice day. Go out with friends." Imbrium's tirade began, her voice annoyed. "I was supposed to eat kimchi. And then one of my classmates fell out and we've been STUCK here. Trying not to fall asleep. Thinking we had all gotten heatstroke or something. And here you are, in a cute little vanishing sunhat." one foot slammed the ground, and her shield flailed haphazardly. "I wanted KIMCHI, and I got DRAINED." The redhead pointed angrily at the human-seeming non-Chaos creature. "Was this YOUR fault??? If not, WHO?"

A lot of words came out of the very angry human's mouth and she did take note that some of the inflections seemed to imply questions. Unfortunately Valnyr could only move so fast and by the time she had reached up to touch her head, where her once pretty sun hat had once been, Imbrium was already on to something else that was entirely new to her. In fact it was safe to say that despite the capabilities of her universal translator there were certain words and concepts that were lost on the alien.
By the time Imbrium had finished Valnyr was staring at her rather wide eyed - how did one respond to concepts that were beyond their comprehension, particularly when some of them were controversial or otherwise offensive? All that she had gathered right now was that she had done something that the young woman didn't appreciate.
...Something to do with Kimchi and making people sick?
"I thought my hat looked very pretty," Valnyr murmured softly, more so to herself than anything as she attempted to fathom what on earth had just happened.
"And I don't have the ability to make people unwell?" she added in confusion. To her knowledge nothing within their civilization was ever intended to cause such effects, if anything, they were meant to be the complete opposite!
There was one thing though that did stick out, the word 'drained'.
"Oh..." she fiddled for a moment with her necklace and then held it out. "Maybe this is the cause," she hazarded and shook her head. "It can sometimes make us tired but it would never make us sick," she admitted and furrowed her brow. "Perhaps you are more fragile than I anticipated and acceptable levels of acquisition should be much, much lower..." she conceded.
"Unfortunately I have no idea what this 'Kimchi' is though so I am not entirely certain how I can help to remedy your need for it," she finished, her expression apologetic.
The woman seemed to be related to the Order so she should be friendly right? She was frustrated now but that didn't imply immediate danger, at least that's what Valnyr assumed so far...

A lot of words came out of the very angry human's mouth, and every one seemed to pile onto the prior to make her even angrier, until her face almost matched her hair for its fury. And this thing- this alien, or this weird human, or whatever- playing naïve about Pythia's ruined day did not a happy Squire make, and her shield slammed into the ground next to her. "It wasn't pretty," she snarled snidely, even though she had hardly noticed the hat at all, "It's a good thing it is gone." Not true, but oh she was angry. Her fists clenched and unclenched, the desire to punch this energy-thieving demi-chaos MONSTER in the face with her fist at war with Pythia's acknowledgement that you don't punch potential allies in the face. It was bad manners, and bad politics, and yet that didn't stop the urge at all. "Acceptable levels of acquisition," the Castor Knight hissed, "are ZERO energy. The people walking by did not consent. If it is inconsiderate to leap out at you, how can you think it not inconsiderate to make someone tired without asking them? That's assault, scumbag, and makes you NO different from the Negaverse." She leaned in, glowering. "And you might not know what Kimchi is, but you know what I'm supposed to do to the Negaverse, right?" she lifted her right fist, grinding it into her left palm with a clear slapping sound.

"If we were not to provide energy then our world would die, it is necessary to collect it," she pointed out gently. She wasn't intending to be contrary or stubborn, but it was a fact. Velencya required energy to remain powered, no drop of it was wasted, and thus the concept of never collecting it was beyond a foreign concept for the woman. Did this mean that they simply let their excess energy burn off and transform into nothing?
...Granted it probably went somewhere, but Velencya science hadn't necessarily deigned to research where that unused energy went when it wasn't collected.
"But it should not have made them tired, that was a miscalculation on my part, they should have felt nothing," she clarified and shook her head. She held up her hands, a placating gesture she had learned when observing another soul in the middle of something similar. There had been a raised voice then as well and that man had done that to the other one - it had seemed to work, so surely it would be successful here.
Imbrium's next motion though, did serve to confuse her somewhat.
"You clap for them...?" she asked in confusion. That didn't sound right, weren't the Negaverse supposed to be the hostile individuals, and was clapping not supposed to be a reward for something, an acknowledgement of good?
How bizarre.
It was safe to say that Valnyr had not yet read the room correctly and was wholly unaware that the clap was more of a 'punch'...

"Okay then, Space Dracula." Pythia said snidely. "Did you ever think that maybe a world that can't provide energy on its own deserves to die? You're coming around here sucking out people's life force like ******** parasites." The alien might be gentle about it, but Imbrium had Opinions. "You know who else sucks up energy? The Negaverse. Those weird Black Mirror senshi. And you know what they are? Chaos. Killers." She stared, lip curling. "So what makes you alien freaks any different? Good intentions? Those are what the road to HELL is paved by. And you lot invading and deciding to blow up the enemy is a bad decision." You clap for them? the alien asked, and Imbrium stared at the child-like creature. "No," she said slowly, and the thought that she should stop here passed through her mind, but her hand was already moving on its own. "We do this." And with a balled-up fist, she swung.

Dracula, was that some sort of species she wasn't familiar with? She didn't have time to ask as Pythia was very firmly explaining why she had a dislike for her own kind. There were several things here that Valnyr very much disputed, particular the indications that they were in any means deadly, but before she had even had a chance to debate...
Well - A fist had been flung in her general direction and she was send backwards at a surprisingly fast pace and directly into the wall of the building opposite. Fortunately she hadn't cause any damage to the wall, but she was certainly winded, her cheek left smarting by the very abrupt demonstration she had been provided with.
So if she was to understand this correctly then when one encountered chaos, they responded with violence.
Alas, on this occasion it seemed that any form of debate would be dangerous to her well being. Whomever she had encountered, they were not a fan of her kind and to continue to remain in her company would mean that Valnyr was at very real risk of being hurt badly.
She fumbled with her belt and though she shouldn't have, she pointed her small phaser towards with woman with a small shake of her head.
"The difference is that we never kill, the fail safes on our crystals would never let us," she stated and pulled the trigger. It might hit, and it might stun, but Valnyr knew better than to stick around and find out. She'd already slapped the little button on her comtech and in an instance she had seemingly evaporated in to nothing.
...She was going to have write a small report on this, if only to warn others to be mindful of the risk that particular individual may pose to them in the future.

Imbrium hadn't actually expected to make contact, and the feeling of flesh under her fist cooled her rage, made her bright teal eyes grow wide. And then she was facing down a weird little laser gun, and WOW that hurt; Imbrium was caught, and left twitching in the bushes. Which... she really deserved, but really SUCKED. While she managed to dust herself off, power down to Pythia, and get kimchee, the flavor of victory was hollow.
