To his utmost and honest delight, both Wyatt and Lukas himself were finally freed from that damned fire watch service they were volun-told to do. It truly felt as if they hadd been apart for years during that time, their eyes always on the horizon for some hint of smoke or flames, but never once on one another. ... True, there was Facetime and Video Calls, but there was something still very old fashioned in a romantic sorta way just speaking over the radio and hearing someone elses voice crackling through on the other side. And somehow, removing the other person's face made it all the more easy to be fully honest with one another. What the two of them had danced about for the better part of four months seemed to come out all too easily over that old radio.. And when they were finally freed, well, things were awkward, but far, far better between them. It was right to say that Lukas had outright lost track of time as he finally had the chance to hold Wyatt in his arms and not get whapped immediately with a cane. But then summer turned to Autumn, and they continued to play this game about one another, together, but not. Caring, certainly, but unable to say the right words... Not that it mattered. Lukas was plenty content to just know Wyatt, in his own prickly way, felt the same. That's how he felt now, pulling into the Home Depot with Wyatt's truck, his pointy lad beside him. "Alright, so you mean, I can get that 20 foot skeleton, right? And I'm gonna adopt 'em and call him Skelly, but like Scully." He joked, hopping out and waiting, making sure the pain wasn't too much for Wyatt today. "An we'll get a tinier one named Fubar."

"Look, when you magically pull $600 out of your a**, then you can get your 20 foot skeleton. Till then - not in the budget," Wyatt said in that tone that most would consider reproaching and even scolding, but Lukas would know better. Behind the exasperation was a teasing and playfulness. Wyatt wasn't quite sure what they were really here for, but was he going to pass up looking through the garden center for discount succulents in need of saving? Also no. It had been some time since the firewatch, and Wyatt liked to believe things were good as they were, although he had also become alright with the idea of something more. The more he let his mind chew on such things, the more he decided...he wanted to be pursued. He knew Lukas was waiting for him to come around, but Wyatt was also a little tired of things being done on his own terms. He kind of...wanted Lukas to get tired of waiting and make a bold move. Sure, there were the hugs and stuff, to which Wyatt would feign his annoyance like a cat both wanting and not wanting affection at the same time. But with each one he hoped Lukas might take it a little further. Push back... He wanted to know in a physical way just how much Lukas wanted him. Or maybe that was the repressed horny side of him that was screaming at him with a desire to be just completely dominated by the taller, stronger, man......who Wyatt was also pretty sure, from all he learned about Lukas, the man didn't have it in him - yet - to meet that need. Didn't stop the fantasies that Wyatt tried to squash though. And no one would know these thoughts that occasionally traversed his mind and he walked across the parking lot with Lukas.

"Well now, I had considered doin' a side job of strippin' or two to get the cash. Yah know with this a** I could make that money real easy... But how could I go to work at night like that knowing my dear lil' Wyatt was pinin' for me so hard at the hotel? Can't let someone else see the goods first, I say." Lukas's own tone was jovial, laced with that ever light chuckle that seemed to thread his words. "But my longing for a tall son shall be shelved for now. We are here for a shower head, maybe some winter seeds... And a new snow blower while they're on sale. Come the first snowfall, we ain't gonna find any." A glance was spared over to Wyatt, smirking as if he knew a little secret, or could read minds, though completely oblivious to the lustful thoughts of his companion. What he had assumed was far more innocent. "But don't worry though. I left enough room in the budget for a few of them succulents you like. If I can't have a giant 20ft son, I can take a tiny 6inch baby and name him Piccolo. That works, right?" The smell of fresh lumber and hardware store filled his nose and he gave a pleased sigh, truly adoring that smell. Nothing seemed to suit him more. "You ain't gotta worry too much about followin' me around if you wanna grab a cart and check out the gardening area. I was thinkin' I need a new set of shears too, to cut them low hanging branches, if you see one."

"You? A stripper? Please, you would die from the blood rushing to your head from all the blushing before you could even remove the first article of clothing~" Wyatt teased back, that little playful fire in his rose-pink eyes. They both knew it was true. Wyatt could definitely appreciate Lukas' modest innocence though, even if it was probably a large factor in his lack of pursuit. Wyatt could only guess. Wyatt grabbed a cart as the battle plan was laid out, "I am way ahead of you, I already planned on raiding the poor unwanted plant children rack." Wyatt was trying not to say anything about six inches. "Maybe they'll have that hedgehog planter on sale," Wyatt said as he started off towards the garden center. For whatever reason, unknown to Wyatt, the other man seemed to really like them. At least, that was the impression Wyatt got.

"Yah never know until I try, right? .... Nah, I lied, you'd know. I can feel it now, lil' ol' wholesome me just dyin' because I can't handle the limelight... I'll just keep makin' money they only way I know how. Pickin' up trash and rescuing dumb campers from the lake." There was a slight, fake weeping sound he made, before snorting and nudging Wyatt along. "I hope they do have it... It's perfect for yah, I mean, for me. Reminds me of you. Cute, small... Kinda prickly. Must keep watered properly. Yah know." it seemed that the more playful he became, the less he cared about speaking 'proper'. By now his strange slur of words must have been crystal clear to Wyatt. Hours of whispers over that old radio did well to train one's ears to it. "Gimme a text if you need anything. I'll be over at the shower heads iffin you need me. I'll grab everything else first, but you know how hard those lil' detail decisions are for me. I might need your help to pick a good one out, yeah?" Though they were only going a short ways away from one another, it felt almost sad to see Wyatt turn away from him... So right before he got too far, Lukas gently grabbed the blonde haired man's arm, stopping him just long enough to steal a kiss on the cheek. "And doncha think about buying things for yerself today. It's my treat. I gotcha today."

That explained the hedgehogs then. Well, there were worse animals he could have been compared to. He made a show of rolling his eyes and letting out a sigh. "Of course, his majesty high up in his tower needs the perfect shower head. Only the best," Wyatt said, voice dripping with sarcasm, although lighthearted. He had just begun to pick up the pace when Lukas had snatched him for just that split-second peck on the cheek. Wyatt made a show of giving him an annoyed pout. Part of it was show, playing along with their little game, another part was...probably genuine, wishing instead of a peck on the cheek, perhaps an arm boldy wrapping around him and pulling him to the end of an aisle, backing him in to an endcap and.... "Uh-huh, your treat. It's just cause you know I'm cheap." Wyatt was frugal, smart with his money and budgeting, and could afford nice things, but he still preferred to shop the bargains and save. Most of his money went in to food, which fed most of the camp because cooking in large batches was kind of his thing, or it went in to the camp itself. Renovations, and the new recreation center which was scheduled to be done by the next spring. Once it was done, and the extra rental cabins, the park should start pulling in some more money, letting them all breathe a bit easier. After whatever retort Lukas would inevitably throw back, Wyatt continued on to the garden section, leaving the man to his snow blowers and shower heads.

"You're very much right. The King's beloved Regent must have only the finest and most comfortable water pressure possible, so that he can visit his dear king's palace more often without the complaint that the water is off." He called to Wyatt's retreating back with a grin. In his mind, he imagined it now... That lovely and rather large Jacuzzi tub, with plenty of space for both him and Wyatt... Bathing together in comfort and just enjoying each other's presence without pressure or worry. Such wholesome thoughts were quickly waved away as he decided this was not the time to let his mind wander! He had a job to do after all, and was not about to take too long, not when there was the ever present potential of that pain returning to his camp partner and making him miserable. So... Off he went! Aisle after Aisle with surprising speed. When it came to things for the campsite, decisions came easy. With the years he had worked there, he knew which snow blowers worked best, which seeds and soils held up to the naughtier camper's rampant footsteps, and which little bolts and screws were needed for a few more repairs around the camp. By the time he made it to the Showerheads, he was absolutely determined to make Wyatt proud by showing swift and confident decisive skills! .... And yet he was lost as a lamb in the woods when staring at all of these shiny chrome showerheads. Wide ones, round ones, rectangles and orbs. None of it made any sense to him at all... So he did the only thing he could do. Politely approach a young woman, as nicely as he could. "Pardon me, Miss, I was lookin' at these shower heads an'... Honestly, I can't heads or tails about this all.. Could ya recommended one? I'm lookin' for somethin' a bit fancier, to help out someone who had problems with pain sometimes."

The lady turned around and the bit of sass she might have been about to throw Lukas' way came to a screeching halt as what had looked like a young woman from behind looked him up and down. She was not a young woman, but a much older woman. Probably a soccer mom. Definitely a cougar. "Well hel lo there, handsome. Ooooh, a handy one are you~" She reached out and squeezed Lukas' bicep, feeling this young man's muscles and examining him under her reptilian gaze. "Mmm, you should come to install my new shower instead. I'm sure I'll pay you better than they are~" The 'lady' replied with a fluttering of her lashes. She clearly thought Lukas was some sort of construction worker or something, and she was clearly used to at least trying to pay for services with anything but her hard working husband's money so she could afford the gaudy jewelry she was wearing, and strong perfume.

OH. OH DEAR. Lukas was absolutely never one to judge by appearance alone. Yes, he might have assumed this person before him had been younger, and perhaps a little better at understanding at what he wanted, price range wise. But it was safe to say that when the lady turned around, his heart dropped and he instinctively took a step back. This type was something he honestly didn't have much familiarity with. There as always someone lurking nearby to save him, whether the lady's irritated kid, or sheepish husband who would pull her away to leave the 'nice young man alone.'. Not today though. No one was keeping this gremlin like woman away from him. "Sorry, Ma'am. I can't help you there. I'm contracted to help my park exclusively and any other work I take on could jeopardize my contract." He said firmly, trying to squeeze out any semblance of his accent for fear of appealing to that 'sweet country boy' stereotype these lady types liked to go after. He could feel her gaze burning into him, and the smell of her perfume made his stomach do an uncomfortable twist. "My boss is nearby, so if he catches me too distracted, I'll get punished. But if you need help, I'm sure one of the Home Depot workers here can help you out."

"Now, now," the woman chided him with a wag of her finger, "A strapping young man like you shouldn't tie himself down like that~ you need spread that skill around. you know as well as I that these people working here don't know what they're doing, but you~ You look like a man who knows exactly what he is doing." ((Somewhere in the store, Wyatt was feeling the strong urge to press X for doubt.)) As she said this, her fingers, complete with long cheap acrylic nails traced a line down his chest, and she got closer~ Closer~ "Your boss doesn't have to know," she lowered her voice to a croak that was probably supposed to be seductive, but was completely ruined by a pack-a-day habbit. She continued, "I could really use a handyman like you around my house~ there is a lot that needs tending to~" Oblivious to what was happening, Wyatt was walking along side the aisles, a small plant in one hand and garden shears in another, buggy abandoned, peeking down them as he looked for Lukas. And he found him in this....predicament, and at first lifted a brow, then his expression slipped in to amusement. The woman had no clue he was there, her back towards him, and attention completely on Lukas, whom's leg she had her pelvis all but pressed against.

"Excuse me, ma'am.. You're... Uh.. A bit too close..." Lukas quietly spoke to her, not wanting to cause a scene. There was ever the fear there, that the moment he refused a lady like this, she'd scream that there was something he did to her. Maybe because he was a surprisingly big guy, despite the gentle face. He was still young, and admittedly, had the general expression that he *could* go either way, a super a*****e or an absolute sweetheart once he opened his mouth. But she didn't want to leave him alone. ... As embarrassing as it might be, he would likely have to run away.. Maybe even out of the store, and send Wyatt back in for him instead. And then never return to this Hardware Store ever again. Over the ladies strangely karen-like hair cut that he had not noticed before, Lukas finally saw his potential savior. The most pleading, adorable face he could manage was shot at him, help mouthed at Wyatt while he was trapped between an ugly wall and a giant display of shower heads. He knew damned well that if Wyatt helped him out, he'd owe him big time, but it was entirely worth it if he could be freed.

Wyatt caught Lukas' plea, and gave a look that was...almost menacingly devious, and then he....just seemed to walk away. Passing casually past the aisle, leaving Lukas to his torment. Or did he? Wyatt quietly tip-toe ran down the next aisle, setting his plant and the shears down where he'd grab them again later, and then casually wondered in to the aisle where Lukas and the lady were. Now that he was in the lady's line of vision, he didn't want to make it too obvious that he was coming for them, so he casually looked at the shower heads as he walked up behind Lukas. Then he executed his quickly concocted, mischievous plan. Lukas would perhaps regret asking for his help. An arm wrapped around Lukas' waist, thumb tucking in to the top of his pants. Wyatt got on his tiptoes and rested his chin on the crook of Lukas' neck, as close as he could get to the taller man's ear. This unbalance made his body press against Lukas, and in a sultry, voice he whispered, loud enough that the lady could hear, but still ever so softly in to Lukas' ear; "Hey baby, they have that rope we like. Wanna pick some up while we're here?" Wyatt's other arm also came to wrap around the man, and his fingers traced lightly up and down his abdomen. After he spoke, he remained with his chin resting by Lukas' ear, and his warm breath teased at it. This act was one Wyatt was familiar with, and a side he had chosen and worked hard to leave behind - the seductor - but for this moment, it was okay, right? He was helping Lukas with a problem...........and protecting what was his. With that last thought, the gave the woman a pointed look, smirk on his face, and a 'try me, b***h' gleam in his eye.

If feelings had sounds, Lukas's current state would be the sound of glass shattering against the floor. Was that his heart? Or the feeling of complete and utter betrayal hitting him? How could the man he absolutely adored abandon him so thoroughly and utterly! ... His gaze turned downward, back at the creeping, clingy woman, a hand on her shoulder to push her gently away once more. It was clear he was to receive no help this day. And then he froze. There was a sudden touch against his skin, warmth on his ear... Suggestions whispered and places he was certain that hadn't been touched in years felt as if they were on fire now. Thank goodness for tight underwear and loose pants because there was more than a little reaction happening now, and the pink of his face very much matched the pinkish hue of his own hair. The woman, at first, had no idea what was going on, stepping back at the initial touch while assuming Lukas was getting ready to follow her back to her 2019 Hyundai Elantra that her husband bought here as a birthday gift a few years back. Her shock was indescribably when this tiny little not ONLY came up and interrupted her, but had the audacity to lay his hands on her prey! Whatever nonsense the man spewed was enough for her claws to leg to of Lukas, and she took a stumbling step back, pulling her purse closer to her. "O-Oh! You uh... are one of those people! N-not that there's a problem with that! But you could have spoken up if your lover was here! Damn you lil' brats leading a beautiful young lady like myself astray! Fine! Have fun with your cheap rope here! You're missing out, boy, I could have shown you what real silk and lace looked like!" Without waiting for another words or nasty little look from that conniving little man stealer, she hurried away on her pristine white Newbalance sneakers, hips shashaying the whole time. ... Lukas, however, had not seemed to recover at all. His brain seemed to have completely short circuited, eyes focused hard on the ground below while he tried to force himself to calm down in the middle of this Damned Home Depot.

As the woman retreated, Wyatt dropped from his tip-toes and rested his head against Lukas' back, forehead fitting perfectly in that little spot between the bottom of the man's shoulder blades, hands resting on Lukas' hips, and gave a laugh. It was...a nice position, Wyatt had to admit. However he couldn't linger like that long. He finally backed away a couple paces, but there was quite the smile on his face, as he was still finding this all very amusing. "Rescued, from the scary ol' soccer mom. You're welcome," he finally said.

It was Wyatt's laughter that finally snapped him from his thoughts, and the heating reaction he had died down completely as mortification took it's place. He didn't look angry, no, but there was something else there, something a bit harder to place as he refused to look Wyatt in the eyes. "... Thanks, I guess. Can you put your stuff in the basket so we can get out of here? I need a shower..." He muttered again, grabbing the first shower head he saw and throwing it into his cart. Lukas kept his gaze away from the Blonde, looking well above him rather than down at him. "Come on, I want to get home before dark."
